PRECAUTIONS
For cold water use only. Do not use on hot water line.
After prolonged periods of non-use (such as vacation) it is recommended that the system be ushed thoroughly. Let water run 5-6 minutes before using.
The lters recommended for use with this system carry a limited service life. Changes in taste, odor, color and/or ow of the water being ltered indicate that the cartridge should be replaced.
Make certain that installation complies with all state and local laws and regulations.
See the Performance Data Sheet for contaminants and reduction performance.
WARNING: Filter system must be protected against freezing temperatures, frost, snow, sleet, and ice. Exposure to these elements can produce cracks and product failures.
CAUTION: Please wear safety glasses to protect eyes when drilling.
NOTE: Turn o water supply to head and remove the lter if it must be left unattended for an extended
period of time.
23
PREPARE SITE FOR INSTALLATION
Prior to starting, close the cold water shut-o valve. NOTE: You must check and comply with all local plumbing codes.
Consult your local plumbing codes and install accordingly.
Position on cabinet wall in a space that provides easy access for future lter replacements and is within reach of water supply using tubing provided.
If you have anything other than exible hose under your sink, check to see if you need to purchase special ttings.

FILTER INSTALLATION
NOTE: Mount the lter system to a solid cabinet or wall. If a solid surface is not available, use hollow-wall
anchor bolts or toggle bolts (not included) to secure to the wall. May stand freely.
1. Turn o the cold water supply line, then turn on the kitchen faucet and allow water to drain from line.
2. Disconnect the cold water faucet supply line from the cold water supply angle stop.
(A)
(C)
3. Connect the Direct Connect Fitting to the cold water supply angle stop as shown. Connect the cold water faucet supply line onto the top of the Direct Connect Fitting. With an adjustable wrench, tighten the adapters until secure. NOTE: Do not over tighten or strip threads as leaking may occur.
4. Choose an easy-to-access area under the sink to mount the lter system. NOTE: Allow a 2” clearance below the system to allow space for lter replacements. The lter system must be mounted in a vertical position and the lter head should be mounted on a stud or rm surface. Please be advised that the lter can stand freely if mounting is not an option, but be sure it remains in a verticle upright position.
5. Using the mounting bracket, mark with a pencil the holes for the mounting screws on the wall surface. Using a 1/8” drill bit, drill two pilot holes for the mounting screws. Insert mounting screws into the wall with a screwdriver leaving approximately 1/4” of each mounting screw exposed and hang the System Head on the eyes of the bracket. NOTE: Image shown, is one (1) of three (3) mounting style brackets.

6. Determine lengths of 3/8” tubing needed to connect the System Head inlet (white collet/tubing) and outlet (blue collet/tubing) to the water supply adapter (reference image left for inlet (white collet) and outlet (blue collet) location). Be sure to allow enough tubing to prevent kinking in the line. If necessary, cut each 3/8” plastic tubing squarely on both ends with a utility knife, making sure not to crimp the tubing during cutting. Make sure tube edges are even and smooth. Reference image 6 on left for inlet and outlet location.
7. Insert the 3/8” white tubing into the white inlet port/collet of the System Head approximately 5/8” until it stops. Connect the other end of the tubing to the bottom inlet side of the Direct Connect Fitting (C) adapter. Repeat same process with outlet side (3/8” blue tubing and blue outlet port/collet). NOTE: 3/8” Elbow adapter (G) has been included to use in System Head for tubing connection, if necessary.
8. Line up lter head inlet and outlet ports and key with the inlet/outlet ports on System Head, insert lter by pushing upward, and turning right until the lter stops in the locked position. The lter should be tight with no movement. If the lter is dicult to insert into the System Head, check the lter and head ports for debris and make sure they are clean; make sure both the inlet/outlet ports and O-rings are clean for easier insertion and repeat this step.
NOTE A.
COLLAR COLLET/PORT
9. Turn on the cold water supply at angle stop valve. Check for leaks. Turn on faucet and allow water to run for 5 minutes to ush air and carbon nes (very ne black powder). Check for leaks before leaving installation. If problems exist, refer to troubleshooting on page 9.
NOTE: Routine maintenance and lter replacement will not require that you disconnect the tubing from the System Head. If necessary, tubing may be easily removed from the tting. First turn o the water supply to the lter. Open the kitchen faucet to release water pressure. Using your ngers, press in the collet holding it rmly against the tting, with your other hand pull the tubing out of the collet, away from the head assembly. See collet/port location in the image on the left, labeled NOTE A.

FILTER REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Preparing for lter removal, use a small pan, large bowl or towel to catch potential water drizzle from
pressurized water in lter system.
1. Turn o incoming water supply from the cold water supply line.
2. Drain the excess cold water from the faucet supply line.
a. Turn the cold water faucet on (opening cold water ow) until no more
water comes out.
b. Turn o the faucet.
3. Remove the lter from the System Head/Mounting Bracket Assembly.
a. Turn the lter body one quarter turn to the left until it stops and pull
lter straight down.
b. Discard used/old lter.
4. Insert the new lter into the System Head/Mounting Bracket Assembly.
d. Align lter ports with the System Head port connections and push
lter upward into the System Head until it stops.
e. Turn the lter one quarter turn to the right until it stops in the locked
position.
CAUTION: Make sure there is no debris on the lter ports or in the System Head ports when inserting the lter into the head, as it will not seal properly. Repeat step 4 until it is inserted with a proper seal.
5. Turn on the incoming water supply from the cold water supply line.
a. Turn the cold water faucet on SLOWLY (opening cold water ow)
until water comes out smoothly.
b. Run water for 5 minutes, to ush air and carbon nes from lter.
c. Turn o the faucet.
CAUTION: Be sure to check system for leaks immediately after installation or lter replacement, and periodically throughout the day to ensure there is not an installation or lter replacement concern.

TROUBLESHOOTING
LEAKS BETWEEN THE SYSTEM HEAD ASSEMBLY AND THE FILTERS:
1. Turn o water supply to the lter system and dispense water from kitchen faucet until water and airow stops.
2. Remove lter and inspect o-rings to make sure they are in place and clean.
3. Install lter making sure the lter is pushed all the way into the head and turned all the way into the open/locked position.
4. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks.
LEAKS AROUND THE FITTINGS:
1. Turn o the water supply to the lter system to relieve pressure.
2. While pressing the collet rmly against its inlet/outlet port of the direct connect tting or System Head on the inlet/outlet port using your ngers, use your other hand to pull the 3/8” plastic tube straight out of the inlet/outlet collet/port.
3. Check the inlet/outlet ports and 3/8” tubing to make sure that all is clear of debris.
4. Check the 3/8” tubing to make sure the end is evenly cut (at), free of scratches or jagged edges, and is not crimped.
5. If any of the above damage to the 3/8” tube exists, use a utility knife or tube cutters to evenly cut the damaged tubing o.
6. Re-install the 3/8” tubing into the inlet/outlet collet/port of the direct connect tting or System Head.
7. Turn the water supply to the system back on and check for leaks.
