WITH “WHITE-ON” DISPLAY
“WHITE-ON” display
A newly-developed transparent liquid crystal panel called “WHITE-ON” display is provided over the analogue dial. It shows white characters clearly without blocking the view of the hands and dial, and various digital displays can be turned on and off as you require. The watch, therefore, serves as a multi-function digital watch as well as being an analogue watch.

1 While the digital display is turned off or in the CALENDAR
mode, press buttons B and C at the same time.
• The display as shown at right appears for 1 second, and then it disappears and the digital display remains blank for 5 seconds. The “WHITE-ON” display will continue to appear and disappear alternately in such a manner.

demonstration.
* Be sure to follow the above procedure as the demonstration will not stop
automatically.
TIME/CALENDAR SETTING
English
Be sure to set the analogue and digital displays to an identical time. Otherwise, the
alarm cannot be used properly.
The time is set in either 12- or 24-hour indication. The “AM”/“PM” mark is displayed
in the 12-hour indication while there is no mark in the 24-hour indication. For the changeover between 12- and 24-hour indications, see “REGULAR ALARM MODE”.
The year digits can be set from 1996 to 2049.
The flashing digits move quickly if button C is kept pressed.
When setting the minute hand, first advance it 4 to 5 minutes ahead of the digital time
and then turn it back to the exact minute.
After the crown is pushed back, the digital display changes in the following order:
14
B
C
Each of the above displays is shown for 3 seconds. Then, the watch automatically returns to the display you used before setting the time/calendar. Pressing button A, B or C in any of the above displays will also return the watch to the display you used before setting the time/calendar.
Do not leave the watch with the crown pulled out for a long time. Though the hands
stop moving, the battery energy is being consumed inside the watch to cause battery depletion.

SINGLE-TIME ALARM MODE
When the alarm time is set by pressing button B or C, the single-time alarm mark is
displayed and the alarm is automatically engaged.
The digits move quickly if button B or C is kept pressed.
If the alarm time is set to the current time, the alarm will automatically be disengaged.
The single-time alarm rings differently from the regular alarm.
If the alarm rings when the digital display is blank, the set alarm time is displayed while
the alarm is ringing and for a few seconds after it stops ringing.
Please note, if a button is pressed in the STOPWATCH mode to stop the alarm ringing,
the alarm is stopped but the stopwatch operation is also made.
REGULAR ALARM MODE
If the watch is left untouched in the ALARM SETTING display, it will automatically return
to the REGULAR ALARM mode in 1 to 2 minutes.
English
15
If the changeover between 12- and 24-hour indications is made in more than one regular
alarm display, the time indication system you set last will be effective for the time indication in the other displays.
Note on unusual display:
If buttons B and C are pressed at the same time in the ALARM SETTING display, the display as shown at right will appear. This is not a malfunction. Press any one of the buttons to return to the ALARM SETTING display.
The regular alarm rings differently from the single-time alarm.
The regular alarm can be tested by pressing and holding button C in the REGULAR ALARM mode.
English
If the hourly time signal rings when the digital display is blank, the time of the hourly time
signal is displayed while it is ringing and for a few seconds after it stops ringing.
STOPWATCH MODE
Selection of the lap/split displays can be made when the stopwatch is reset to “00”.
Restart and stop of the stopwatch can be repeated by pressing button B.
Lap /split time measurement can be repeated by pressing button C.
The turning graphic display only indicates that the stopwatch is measuring and does not
show the measured time.
16
The lap/split times measured by pressing button C and the measurements taken by
pressing button B to stop measurement are stored in memory.
The data number is not a lap/split number. It indicates the number of measurements
stored in memory.
Up to 20 newest data are stored in memory. If more than 20 measurements are made,
the data are erased from the oldest one to maintain 20 newest data in memory.
If the STOPWATCH mode is changed over to the CALENDAR mode or the digital display
is turned off while a measurement is in progress, the stopwatch continues counting properly and the flashing mode mark appears even if the digital display is blank.
Notes on MEMORY RECALL function:
• If “F” is attached to the data number, the data displayed is the final one measured by pressing button B to stop the measurement, followed by resetting procedure of pressing button C.
• With each press of button B, the stored data are recalled from the newest to the oldest.
• If the watch is left untouched in the MEMORY RECALL display, it will automatically return to the CALENDAR mode in 1 to 2 minutes.
• If the data is recalled during measurement, the type of measurement selected last in the MEMORY RECALL display will be taken when the measurement is resumed. Therefore, select the desired display, lap or split, in the MEMORY RECALL display, and then return to the STOPWATCH mode.

Years
The battery life may be less than 2 years if the calendar is used more than 10 times a day, regular/single-time alarm for more than 20 seconds for each time a day and/ or stopwatch for more than 1 hour a day.
As the battery is inserted at the factory to check the function and performance of the watch, its actual life once in your possession may be less than the specified period.
When the battery expires, be sure to replace it as soon as possible to prevent any

malfunction.
We recommend that you contact an AUTHORIZED PULSAR DEALER for battery replacement.
Battery life indicator
When you see the second hand moving at two-second intervals instead of the normal one-second intervals, the battery needs to be replaced with a new one. In that case, replace the battery as soon as possible.
* Even while the second hand is moving at two-second intervals, the accuracy of the
