The PingerPro sto res up to 12 proles (11 user congurable
and one factory default). Proles contain the setup information for s peci c networks. Each prole c an be named so
that it can be easily identied. A prole cont ains set tings
for: Link, IP/MAC Address, Ping, Ping List, Trace, VL AN
and Se cu ri ty.
Factor y Default c ontains commonly used settings for a
network utilizing Dynamic IP Addressing (DHCP). If t he network use s Static IP Addres sing, a new prole needs to be
created to assign t he PingerPro a xed IP Address, Subnet
Mask and G ateway to connect to the network.
Press the power but ton to tur n on the
Pinger Pro and then release after 2
seconds. The welcome sc reen is displayed for approxim ately 12 seconds.
The HOME Screen is then displayed.
Select either AUTO TEST, PING,
CABLE TEST (or FIBER TEST if using
the PingerPro 75 model), SETUP or
the HELP button.
SETUP
AUTO TEST
Press AUTO T EST from the HOME
Screen and then press the PLAY
button to start the Auto Test using the
prole selected. The PingerPro scans
the connection searching for link
signals. If no link signals are found,
the button turns red and a white X is
displayed. A REPEAT but ton is pro -
vided to rerun the test. When proper
link sign als are found, the PingerPro
displays t he LINK button with a green
the PingerPro will run the rest of the tests selected in setup.
A green ch eck means that the test has suc cessf ully passed
the parameters from the selected prole. A red button with
a white X means that the test has failed.
Select the LINK button to show link connect ion as a LAN, or
NIC, the c onnected speed and duplex t he PingerPro is us -
ing and the capabilities of the Link Partner. Sel ect the LI NK
button to return to the main Auto Test screen.
Select the IPv4 A DDRESS button on the bot tom of the link
screen to show either DHCP or Fixed IP Ad dress. S croll
through the rest of t he Auto Test informatio n which include
the following: LLDP/CDP, IPv4/IPv6 PIN G and SECURITY.

Select the PROFILES butto n.
Select a prole to activate. Select a gain to ren ame.
Select LINK but ton to change spee d to a single xed speed
or keep as auto.

Selec t FIXED to enter the st atic add ress ing info rmat ion by
selecting the grey buttons to bring up the keyboard.
Select the SAVE but ton to store the addresses.
Select the PSIBER button to return to the HOM E Screen.
FIBER TESTPING TEST
PING is used
to quickly verif y
connectivity,
measure r ound
trip time, check
data integrity,
determine a MAC
address and
search a stored
list or a range of
IP addresses.
Select PING from the HOME Sc reen and then press the
PLAY button to establish a link c onnection. Select LIN K
INFO to display the capabilities of the Link Par tner and t he
connected speed and dupl ex the PingerPro is using. When
the link is established and using the Fac tory D efault pr ole,
the IP address and ping infor mation to the gateway is
displayed. Select the SET TINGS button to quickly change
from prole to prole to test with dif ferent paramete rs.
On the HO ME
Screen, CABLE
TEST becomes
FIBER TEST if
it’s a PingerPro
75 and the FIBER
button was
selected in setup
under the LINK
button. The Fiber
Test continuously
measure s and displays the received and transmitted power
from the ber SFP port.
CABLE TEST
Select CABLE TEST from the HO ME Scre en.
WIREM AP veries proper cable wiring and detec ts split
pairs. C onnect the Wiremap Terminator to the cable under
test pri or to selecting this button.
LENGTH measures an d displays the distance to an open or
short of each wire pair in a cable.
TONE is used to locate a punchdown or trace a cable
using a Cable Tracker CT-15 probe (Optional). The tone
frequency is adju stable.
PORT ID is used to determine which por t of a hub or switch
is wired to a parti cular wall jack by bli nking the Link LED on
the por t. The blink rate is adjustable for co mpatibility with
most switches and hubs.
