ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove all of the boxes from the carry/storage box.
2. Under them you will find a tray that holds the light stands. Lift out the tray and remove the light stands. Set up the light stands by opening the legs fully. Lock the legs in place with the Locking Screw at the leg junction. (You may need to loosen the locking screw at the leg junction to open the legs.) The height of the light stand is adjustable by unlocking the section(s) at each junction, setting the desired height and re-locking the section (s) with the flip-lock levers.
3. Remove the Ceramic Light Sockets from their box and loosen the Angle Lock for the socket. Adjust the socket so that the ceramic socket is 90° to the stand mount. Re-lock the angle lock. If the end of the lock handle is facing in the direction of the socket, it will be necessary to pull out the handle and rotate it so the handle is facing as in the picture. Releasing the handle will automatically allow it to seat. Next, back out the stand locking screw enough to allow the socket to be mounted on the stand. Secure the socket to the stand and re-secure the screw to hold the socket onto the stand.
4. At this point, the ceramic socket should be 90° to the light stand. The socket is mounted to a metal round plate with holes and it has a knurled screw that goes through the plate. Back out the screw so that the end is flush with the plate. This will allow you to bayonet the reflector onto the metal backing plate.
5. Remove the reflector from the box and line up the studs at the rear of the reflector with the holes in the mounting plate. Be sure the oblong hole in the side of the reflector near the cone is on the bottom. (This allows you to mount the umbrellas, if used, properly). Insert the studs into the holes of the socket plate and turn the reflector so that the studs rotate to the small part of the holes in the mounting plate. Secure the reflector with the knurled screw.
6. Insert a photoflood bulb into the socket. Any of the following E-27 base bulbs may be used: BBA, BCA, EBV, EBW, ECA, or ECT. Be sure to allow the unit to cool before disassembly. The bulbs get very hot in use.
7. To adjust the focusing of the lamp, loosen the Shaft Securing Knob and push/pull the socket set back and forth until the desired angle of light is achieved.
8. If your kit was supplied with umbrellas, they mount by inserting the shaft through the hole of the reflector into the umbrella mounting hole on the Ceramic Socket Set stand clamp.
