1. BEFORE STARTING
Proximu s thanks yo u for choos ing the Mae stro 2032,
which is designed for connection to t he Belgian
public analogue network, and is approved in compliance with
European regulations, as attested by the CE mark.
1.1 Contents of the box
Check that the following are all in the box:

2.1 Connections

Connect one end of the spiral cord to the handset and the other into the slot on the left side of the telephone.
l
Plug the line cord into the slot at the back of the set (behind the displ ay) and plug the teleph one j ack into the wall socket.
l
Conn ect one end of the power cab le into the socke t provided on the back of the set (behind the display).
l
Plug the other end into an electricity socket.
Caution:
l
Only us e th e 9V DC pow er s upply pro vided with the telephone.

To go into settings mode:

3.1 Setting the clock
When the menu shows "TIME/DATE":
l
Press .

To adjust the setting, press

to scroll through the digits.
l
To move on to the next parameter (hour/minute/day/month),
press q.
l
Press again to save.
Setting the display language (French, English, German and Dutch)
When the menu shows "CID LANGUAGE":

Press .

Select the language using the

3.2 Setting the display contrast
Contrast
When the menu shows "SELECT CONTRAST":
Press .
Use the

or q keys to select the contrast level on the
display (4 levels).
Press again to save.
Orientation
The display can be positioned manually (raised or lowered as preferred).
3.3 Selecting the call parameter
It is not necessa ry to modify the following p arameter which is preset to work on the Belgian network:
Flash time (timed loop break):
Default ash time for Belgium is 120 ms.
When the menu shows "FLASH TIME":

4. MAIN FUNCTIONS
4.1 Answering a call
Pick up the handset or press (hands-free mode).
At the end of the call, replace the handset or press again (hands-free mode).
4.2 Making a call
To talk via the handset:
l
Pick up the handset.
l
Dial the number of your correspondent (for stored numbers,
see §5.2 "Calling a Phonebook number").
l
At the end of the call, replace the handset.
Note: At any time during the call, you can switch to hands-
free mode by pressing . When the blue LED lights up, you can replace the handset.
4.3 Redial
l
Press : the last number called appears on th e
display. You have 10 seconds to ini tiate the call, either by
lifting up the ha ndset, or by pressing .
4.4 Using hands-free mode
Tips on using hands-free mode
l
Stay fairly close to the telephone so that the person you
are speaking to can hear you clearly.
l
Avoid talking at the same time as your correspondent.
l
Avoid using hands-free mode in noisy environments: the
microphone can pick up ambient noise and this will prevent
the hands-free function from switching to receive mode
when you nish saying something.
Turning hands-free mode on/off
You can switch to hands-free mode at any time.
l
Press .

A LED lights up above the key .
Similarly, at any point in a hands-free conversation, you can
turn off hands-free mode by picking up the handset (the LED
turns off).
4.5 Adjusting the volume
Setting the ringer volume:
The ringer volum e sli der is on the right-ha nd si de of the telephone. Move the cursor to the desired setting: silent, low or high.
If the ring er is silent, the b lue LED li ghts up to s ignal incoming calls.

2.2 Wall mounting installation
Your phone is by default in desk mode position. If you need to wall mount it, please follow the steps below.
Turn the telephone around, with the display pointing upwards.
Press on the two striped parts to remove the cradle.
Clip the cradle onto the bottom of the telephone so that the striped part of the cradle is towards the bottom of the
telephone, just behind the key.

To talk without picking up the handset (i.e. in hands-free mode):
l
Press .

The blue LED above the key lights up.

Dial the number of your correspondent (for stored numbers,
see §5.2 "Calling a Phonebook number").

When your correspondent answers, speak directly without
picking up the handset.
l
At the end of the call, press again.
Dialling the number before picking up the handset:

Dial the number of your correspondent (for stored numbers,

Pick up the handset or press .

At the end of the call, replace the handset or press

Cradle
With a coin, reverse the round plastic part located on the left side of the base (above speaker holes) to have "WALL"word in upright position.
Drill two holes in the wall, 83 mm apart.
Insert plugs, then introduce the two screws.
Attach the telephone, sliding it downwards.
4.6 Secrecy mode
To put your correspondent on hold while you talk to someone
next to you, press the key, which then lights up in blue.
To exit secrecy mode, press again.
5. USING THE PHONEBOOK
5.1 Programming / Changing / Erasing a memory
You can store up to 13 names and numbers in memory
(3 direct-access memories + 10 indirect memories).
To store a number in memory:
l
Press .

The display shows “I0-I9”.
l
Select the chosen memory location (pad keys 0 to 9 for
indirect memories or keys , , for direct memories).
Note: You can use the p or q keys to scroll through all the
memory locations.
l
Press to conrm the memory location.
l
Enter the number (up to 32 digits).
l
Press again to save the number.
l
Enter the associated name (up to 12 characters) using the
keypad.
Example: for "PAUL":
- Press once.
- Press once.
- Press twice.
- Press three times.
To insert a space, press once.
l
Press to save the name.
Note: At any time during this procedure, you can erase the
previous digit or letter by pressing .
To insert a pause when storing a number, press
.
The , , and keys can be used to
enter special characters.
To erase / change a memory:
l
Press .
l
Scroll through with the p or q keys (or press the selected
memory directly: , , or 0 to 9), Now you have two options :
Erase a memory and replace it with a new one:
l
Press .
l
Enter the new number directly (using the keypad).
l
Press .
l
Enter the new name.
l
Press to save.
Change a memory or erase it without replacing it:
l
Press .
l
Correc t the nu mber using the key, or erase each
digit one by one, again using the key, to delete the number completely.
l
Press .
Setting the handset volume:
At any time during a call, you can raise or lower the volume
by pressing as many times as required (4 levels).
Setting the hands-free speaker volume:
If you are talking in hands-free mode( active), you can
raise or lower the volume by pressing as many times as required (8 levels).
The telephone will remember the last volume level.

6.2 Compatibility with Proximus voicemail service* (PHONEMAIL)

When a new voicem ail message is received, the icon
is shown on the d isplay.

6.3 Other network service functions*
In conversation, R key allows access to other Proximus
services (2nd call, toggle between 2 correspondents, 3-way
conference).

7. TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
Cause Solution
You have
difculty
reading the display
The contrast is too weak
Adjust the contrast (see
§3.2 "Setting the display
contrast"). Tip: the "contrast setting" function is the 3rd item in the menu
The display is at the wrong angle
Move the display by hand into the optimal position.
The display and hands-free feature are not working
The power supply is not connected properly
Check the power
connections (see §2.1
"Connections").
There is no dial tone
The telephone jack is not properly plugged in
Check the line cord
connections (see §2.1
"Connections").
The earpiece volume is too low
Increase the volume setting (see §4.5" Adjusting the volume").
The telephone doesn’t ring
The ringer is off
Adjust th e ringer vo lume (see §4.5 "Adjus ting the volume").
The line cord is disconnected
Check the line cord
connections (see §2.1
"Connections").
Your correspondent can't hear you
Secrecy mode (Mute) is active:

key LED is

The LED turns off.
10. GUARANTEE TERMS
The Equipment you have bought has been carefully selected by Proximus and is covered by a two-year warranty on spare parts and labor in the event of any material or manufacturing
defect, unless otherwise specied. The warranty shall be
valid from the date on which the equipment is collected or delivered.
If you have any problems with the equipment, you should
take it to Proximus Center or to one of our authorized agents,
in its entirety and in its original packaging, or in packaging providing the same degree of protection, together with the original receipt.
Your equipment will be repaired or replaced free of charge, on presentation of the receipt, in the event of any material or manufacturing defect.
Proximus alone shall determine what repairs and/or replacements are necessary. The warranty on the repaired or replaced equipment shall end on the date on which the original warranty on the purchased equipment expires, but shall not be less than 3 months.
The warranty shall not cover:
- damage of any kind that does not predate the sale;
- any damage, faults or defects attributable to the Customer or to causes unrelated to the Equipment: lightning, power surges, humidity, accidental damage, improper use or poor maintenance, failure to comply with the instructions in the user manual, and force majeure;
- the repair or replacement of movable parts (cords, wires, plugs, aerials,etc.), consumables (cells, batteries, paper, ink, etc.) needing regular replacement and the supply of cleaning products.
The warranty shall not apply:
- to any changes or repairs to the Equipment undertaken by the Customer himself/herself or through the services of persons not designated by Proximus;
- if the Customer r emoves or tampers with the manufacturer’s serial numbers and/or brand names on the Equipment;
Proximus shall not be liable for any indirect or immaterial loss sustained by the Customer as a result of the malfunctioning of the terminal Equipment, such as any loss of production, revenue or contracts.
8. SAFETY
In the event of danger, the mains adapter acts as 230V power
isolating device.
It should therefore, as a precaution, be installed close to the appliance and be easily accessible. To disconnect the device from the primary power source, the mains adapter must be
removed from the 230 V AC / 50 Hz socket.
If the mains adapter fails, it must be replaced by an identical model.
!Do not use your telephone to notify a gas leak when standing in the vicinity of the leak.
9. ENVIRONMENT

6. NETWORK SERVICE FUNCTIONS*
(subject to subscription)
6.1 Identifying callers
The Maestro 2032 enables you to use the caller name/
number identication service* to identify callers before
answering, or if a call comes in while you are already on the line with somebody else.
The last 75 incoming calls (whether you answered them or
not) are listed in the Call Log.
Call Log
The disp lay shows: "X NEW CAL L(S)" for m issed calls that you have n’t consulted, or "X CALL(S)" for missed calls you have consulted and calls you have answered.
If the caller number matches a number in the Phonebook, the
name associated with the number is displayed*.
The display also shows the time and date of the call and the
order in which calls are received.

Deleting a number from the Call Log:
To delete the displayed number, press

Deleting all the numbers in the Call Log:
You can delete all the numbers from the Call Lo g list w hile consulting it, or when the display shows the number of (new) calls. To do so:

If "CAN’T BE D IALED" appears, the num ber can not be
calle d ba ck be cause it was n ot di sclosed by the fixed
telephone network.
