USER’S MANUAL
Thank you very much for purchasing the PROVIDENCE® SONIC DRIVE. Providence products are born from the process of solving various problems, and satisfying the desires of our many users. The Providence technology is fused with the needs of our actual users, to develop unique and practical products. Before each product is completed, stringent testing is repeatedly carried out, with an eye toward pursuing products that guarantee high reliability, but with the emphasis on musical sound quality. To provide years of trouble-free use, read this User's Manual thoroughly before using the SONIC DRIVE.
The Providence Sonic Drive is a responsive overdrive effect that gives the guitarist extraordinary expressive capability in a wide
range of playing situations, from rhythm to lead. Even with distortion applied, excellent definition and balance are achieved from the first through sixth strings. At lower gain settings it's possible to pound out powerful chords with fast attack and a wild edge that stands out clearly from a wall of sound. Turn up the gain for a smoother lead sound that responds intimately to picking nuances.
In a normal True-Bypass circuit, in bypass mode the audio signal passes through two switch contacts. But in the SONIC DRIVE, in bypass mode the audio passes through a single contact, thanks to a single contact true-bypass circuit. The result is much higher sound quality and reliability than that provided by previously existing products.
The FAT switch provides low range control. Turning ON the FAT switch increases the low range gain, resulting in a fatter sound.
Due to the adoption of the new double-contact grounding circuit (D.C.G. Circuit), by inserting a monaural plug into the output jack,
the shield (sleeve) of the plug provides two points of contact to the pedal’s ground circuit. By increasing the area of the point of contact, it becomes more difficult for a loose connection to occur, and provides the additional advantage of improved sound quality.
The LED in the SONIC DRIVE doesn't just indicate the ON/OFF status of the effect, it also functions as a battery voltage monitor. If the battery voltage drops to less than about 7V, the LED starts to go out. In this case, the pedal effect is still output, but the battery should be replaced to ensure sufficient operation.

Battery Replacement
Remove the 4 screws from the back cover to replace the battery. Use a 9V/6F22/MN1604 type replacement battery. When changing the battery, do not pull strongly on the battery cable. This could result in disconnection or malfunctioning of the device.
Caution
When connected to an amp and speaker with the power turned on, do not insert or remove plugs in the input or output jacks.
Doing so may cause sufficient noise to damage the speaker.
If the pedal should fail to work or if it works abnormally, please contact the place of purchase or Pacifix Ltd.
If the pedal is not used for an extended period of time, please remove the battery to prevent leakage which could damage the
pedal.
A battery should be inserted into the pedal even when using an AC adaptor. By doing so, if the AC adaptor plug should be inadvertently disconnected, power will continue to be supplied by the battery to provide uninterrupted performance. An AC adaptor with a regulator circuit is recommended.
If the battery voltage becomes too low, the pedal effect may become weak, the output level may drop, or no sound may come out of the pedal. In that case, please replace the battery with a new one.
Troubleshooting
