WARNING
The Maximum basket content weight capacity is 125 lbs. (56 Kg). DO NOT EXCEED the lowest of the
vehicle manufacturer’s cross bar rating or basket content weight limit.
DO NOT transport people, animals, or flammable liquids.
Before transport you MUST: Securely fasten all loads to cargo basket. (Straps sold separately, visit
www.proseriestowing.com for various strap assortments or bungee net options (#9500100)).
Make sure all bolts, straps, knobs and locks are firmly attached and locked before every trip.
Distribute cargo evenly inside the cargo basket.
Check the security of the load often during stops.
DO NOT carry any loads wider than your vehicle.
DO NOT drill or weld to this product.

Unpack cargo basket.
Remove hardware and protective cover off air deflector.
Read and follow all instructions.
REAR SECTION
ASSEMBLE CARGO BASKET
To assemble the cargo basket, place the 3 panels of the basket on a flat non-marring surface.
Apply a small amount of rubber safe lubricant on the inside of all 8 gaskets.
Slide the gaskets on the ends of the front and rear sections, about 1” from the end.
Line up the holes of the mid section with the holes in the front and rear sections.
Secure the tube with the 8 washers and self tapping screws.
Once completed, basket should look like Figure 1.

ATTACH AIR DEFLECTOR
Line up the holes in the air deflector with the four holes in the front cross tubes of the cargo basket. Install four #8 self tapping screws and rubber washers as shown. Tighten screws until the rubber washers start to compress – DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!! Over tightening of screws
could cause the deflector to crack. DO NOT PEEL OFF FOAM GASKETS ON BACK OF
DEFLECTOR.

POSITION THE CROSS BARS
Minimum bar spacing = 25-1/8” (638mm) Maximum bar spacing = 32-3/10” (775mm)

INSERT SPACER BLOCKS
Insert spacer blocks into the cargo basket in one of the positions called out in step 4.
Locate the spacer blocks in the widest position possible (will vary from vehicle to vehicle).
If cross bars are adjustable, set to widest position of 32-3/10” (820.4mm) center to center of cross bar.
This product fits the following cross bar spacing's:
- 25-1/8” (638mm) Minimum
- 28-3/4” (730mm)
- 32-3/10” (820mm) Maximum
It is recommended to use the widest setting
for optimum load distribution.
Leave cross bars loose at this step.

LOAD BASKET ONTO VEHICLE CROSS BARS
Center basket over your vehicle’s cross bars so that the spacer blocks rest on top of them.
Check and adjust cross bars so they are centered with spacers blocks
Adjust the side to side position of the spacer blocks so that they are centered in the cargo basket and a minimum of 24” apart.
Placing the spacer blocks on top of the cross bar brackets may cause uneven fitment and possible damage to the brackets.
ATTACH MOUNTING BRACKETS
Place mounting brackets on top of each spacer block. The square holes in the brackets must engage with the spacer blocks to ensure a good fit.
Install u-bolts around cross bars and into slots in mounting brackets.
Install plastic knobs onto the u-bolts and
evenly tighten the plastic knobs firmly.

WARNING: There must be a minimum of ½” of threads engaged on the u-bolts on all the plastic knobs. Poor engagement may cause the knobs to become loose and possible damage to vehicle and content may occur.

CARE & USAGE
• Keep the unit clean and remove road salt and debris after every use.
• Do not allow harsh chemicals, road salt, or mud to accumulate on the product.
• Wash the product with mild soap and water and a non-abrasive cloth after each use, especially during winter months.
CAUTIONS AND GUIDELINES
• Be careful when driving in or near low clearance branches, bridges, and parking garages as they can affect your cargo basket and load. Placing the cargo basket on the vehicle’s roof can affect the vehicle’s driving behavior.
• Never drive without checking that all knobs and cargo are secured properly to the vehicle.
• Remove the cargo basket and gear before entering an automatic car wash or when not in use.
• Check and follow all local and state laws for regulations on roof mounted objects that protrude beyond the perimeter of the vehicle.
• For the safety of the vehicle and the cargo basket, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.
DO Not use on trailers, RV’s or towed vehicles. Not for off road use.
• Consult with Cequent Technical Service for any questions regarding usage or limitations.
