INSTALLATION GUIDE

IMPORTANT: Consult and follow all applicable state and local plumbing codes

1. Turn off all equipment to be fed.

2. Locate water supply shutoff valve and turn off.

3. Locate suitable location for installation.

4. Mount unit to wall with included mounting bracket.
(Ensure wall material is stable enough for
mounting purposes.)

5. Run a suitable line from the incoming cold
water line to the inlet left side of the Inline
Descaler system.

NOTE: Do not over tighten connection fittings. Do not use pipe dope. Do not use more than seven layers
of plumber’s tape.

NOTE: A bypass line is recommended
to be installed (not included).

6. Select a suitable size tubing to run from the Inline Descaler outlet to the tankless water heater.

A drain valve (not included) is recommended to be installed after the filter for flushing and filter
cartridge changes.

7. Once system is installed, slowly apply pressure by slightly opening feed water valve. If drain valve is

installed, open valve to purge any air that is in the line.

NOTE: If not installing a drain valve, do not connect the tubing to the tankless water heater at this
time. This line will be used to flush the system.

8. After system has fully pressurized, inspect for any leaks.

9. Flush system by opening drain line valve. If no valve was installed, flush BEFORE connecting line to
the tankless water heater. Flush for two minutes.

10. If there is not a pressure relief valve installed on the tankless water heater hot water outlet, install a

brass tee on the tankless outlet. Install a pressure relief valve to one side of the tee. Connect the hot
water line to the other side of the tee.

11. Note installation date for replacement element scheduling. Change the descaler cartridge at least

once every two years.

SAFEGUARDS

• Read all precautions, installation and operating

instructions carefully before installing unit.

• Do not discard owner’s manual.

• Install in accordance with all state and local

plumbing codes.

• Do not install where line pressure may

exceed 100 psi.

Operating pressure range is 20–100 psi.

• Install on cold water lines only. Protect unit from

freezing. Operating temperature range
is 40°F–100°F.

• Install unit in a vertical, upright and level position.

• Do not use liquid compounds for connection.

Only use plumber’s tape for connections.

• Allow a minimum of 3" under the system for

cartridge replacements.

• Do not overtighten fittings.

LIMITATIONS & CONDITIONS

LIMITATIONS

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to
furnishing a replacement for, or at our option, repairing
any part or parts to our satisfaction that prove
defective within the warrant y period stated on the
back cover. Such replacement parts will be delivered to
the owner F.O.B. nearest factory, at no cost, excluding
freight and local labor charges, if any.

Our obligation under this warranty with respect to
the Inline Descaling System media will be limited
to furnishing a replacement for the media within
two years from date of original installation. Such
replacement media will be delivered to the owner
F.O.B. nearest factory, at no cost, excluding freight and
local labor charges, if any. Damage to the media due
to chlorine, other oxidizers or fouling caused by local
water conditions or any other operation outside of the
limits shown under Specifications, is not covered by
this warranty.

THE WARRANTY SET FORTH HEREIN IS GIVEN
EXPRESSLY AND IS THE ONLY WARRANTY GIVEN
BY PROSELECT WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCT.
PROSELECT MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES,
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.PROSELECT HEREBY
SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES,
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED
TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

The remedy described under this warranty shall
constitute the sole and exclusive remedy for breach
of warranty, and the company shall not be responsible
for any incidental, special or consequential damages,
including without limitation, freight, handling, lost
profits or the cost of repairing or replacing other
property which is damaged if this product does
not work properly, other costs resulting from labor
charges, delays, vandalism, negligence, fouling caused
by foreign material, damage from adverse water
conditions, chemical, or any other circumstances over
which the company has no control. This warranty shall
be invalidated by any abuse, misuse, misapplication or
improper installation of the product.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long
an implied warrant y lasts, and some states do
not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental
or consequential damages. Therefore the above
limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives
you specific legal rights, and you may have other
rights that var y from state to state. You should consult
applicable state laws to determine your rights.

SO FAR AS IS CONSISTENT WITH APPLICABLE STATE
LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT MAY NOT BE
DISCLAIMED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES
OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION
TO THE APPLICABLE WARRANTY PERIODS STATED ON
BACK COVER.

CONDITIONS

• The Inline Descaling System must be installed

in applications with municipally supplied water
adhering to EPA guidelines.

• Any component failure must not result from abuse,

fire, freezing or other acts of nature, violence, or
improper installation.

• Equipment must be installed and operated in

compliance with the local plumbing codes and
on an approved water supply.

• Equipment is limited to use at water pressures and

temperatures that do not exceed our published
specifications.

• Water supply must not exceed 2.0 PPM chlorine.

For water supply exceeding 2.0 PPM chlorine,
pretreatment is required. (Please contact your water

treatment specialist.)

• Information, including model number, serial number,

and date of installation, must be provided for any
claims per taining to equipment in warranty.

• Defective parts are subject to inspection by the

company or any authorized representative before
final commitment of warranty adjustment is made.

• The company reserves the right to make changes or

substitutions in parts or equipment with material
of equal quality or value and of then current
production.

COMPANY WARRANTS ITS INLINE DESCALING SYSTEM AS FOLLOWS:

For How Long:

The Inline Descaling System is warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for two
years from the date of original shipment.

The Inline Descaling System is warranted for performance for a period of two years from the date
of original installation when installed and operated in accordance with the instructions in the
corresponding Installation and Operation Manual.

How to Get Service:

To receive service under this warranty, you must contact PROSELECT at 800-221-3379 or
PROSELECTPRODUCTS.COM within the warranty period and describe the problem to a customer
service representative who will verify that the product is under warranty and arrange for delivery
of a replacement part.

This product is not intended for use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without
adequate disinfection before or after the unit.

1. Apague todos los equipos que alimentará.

2. Ubique y cierre la válvula de cierre del suministro

de agua.

3. Ubique un lugar adecuado para la instalación.

4. Monte la unidad a la pared con el soporte de

5. Coloque una tubería adecuada desde la tubería

6. Seleccione una tubería con el tamaño adecuado para colocar desde la salida del descalcificador en

la tubería hasta el calentador de agua sin tanque. Se recomienda instalar una válvula de drenaje (no
se incluye) después del filtro para purga y cambios del cartucho de filtro.

7. Una vez instalado el sistema, abra levemente la válvula de alimentación de agua para aplicar presión

de a poco. Si se instala una válvula de drenaje, abra la válvula para purgar todo el aire que está en
la tubería.

NOTA: Si no va a instalar una válvula de drenaje, no conecte la tubería al calentador de agua sin
tanque en este momento. Esta tubería se usará para purgar el sistema.

8. Después de que el sistema se haya presurizado por completo, revise que no haya fugas.

9. Abra la válvula de drenaje para purgar el sistema. Si no se instaló una válvula, purgue ANTES de
conectar la tubería al calentador de agua sin tanque. Purgue por 2 minutos.

10. Si no hay instalada una válvula de alivio de presión en la salida de agua caliente del calentador

de agua sin tanque, instale una T de latón en la salida sin tanque. Instale una válvula de alivio de
presión en un lado de la T. Conecte la tubería de agua caliente al otro lado de la T.

11. Anote la fecha de instalación para programar el reemplazo del elemento. Cambie el cartucho del

descalcificador al menos una vez cada dos años.

Nuestra obligación conforme a esta garantía se
limita a proporcionar un repuesto para, o a nuestra

CONDICIONES

• El sistema de descalcificador en tubería se debe
instalar en aplicaciones con agua proporcionada por
la municipalidad que cumpla las pautas EPA.

• Toda falla de componente no debe ser producto de
abuso, incendio, congelamiento ni otros fenómenos
de la naturaleza, violencia o instalación incorrecta.

• El equipo se debe instalar y operar de acuerdo con
los códigos de plomería locales y en un suministro
de agua aprobado.

• El equipo está limitado para usar a presiones
y temperaturas del agua que no superen las
especificaciones publicadas.

• El suministro de agua no debe superar las 2.0 PPM
de cloro. Los suministros de agua que superen
las 2.0 PPM de cloro requieren pretratamiento.

(Comuníquese con su especialista sobre tratamiento
de agua).

• Se debe proporcionar información, lo que incluye
el número de modelo, número de serie y fecha de
instalación, ante cualquier reclamo referente al
equipo en esta garantía.

• Las piezas defectuosas están sujetas a inspección

LA EMPRESA GARANTIZA LO SIGUIENTE DE SU SISTEMA DE
DESCALCIFICADOR EN LA TUBERÍA:

Duración:

Se garantiza que el sistema de descalcificador no tenga defectos en materiales o mano de obra por
dos años a partir de la fecha original de envío.

Se garantiza el rendimiento del sistema de descalcificador por un período de dos años a partir de la
fecha original de instalación, siempre y cuando se instale y opere de acuerdo con las instrucciones
en el Manual de instalación y operación correspondiente.

Cómo Obtener el Servicio:

Para recibir servicio conforme a esta garantía, debe contactar a PROSELECT al 800-221-3379 o escribir
a [e-mail] dentro del periodo de garantía y describir el problema a un
representante de servicio al cliente que verificará que ese producto aún está en garantía y coordinará
el envío de una pieza de reemplazo.

Este producto no está diseñado para uso con agua que no sea microbiológicamente segura o cuya calidad sea
desconocida sin la desinfección adecuada antes o después de usarla en la unidad.
