Cover plate removed by unscrewing centre retaining ring
Self-timer lock out lever which is loose and held in place only by the front cover – take care that this isn’t misplaced as you remove the cover plate

Stud for shutter spring
As normal the self-timer mechanism can be removed with it in the un-cocked position
by first unhooking the self-timer spring from its post then moving it across and unhooking the spring
from the mechanism. Partly cock the self-timer to allow the gear to avoid catching on the housing
and lift it out.
N.B. This shutter is an earlier type of Prontor II or Klio and the screws holding the retard escapement are on the back of the housing so the escapement cannot be removed until after the shutter blade and aperture mechanism is removed from the rear of the housing. The screw in the pallet only holds the pallet to the pallet lever and does not hold the escapement in place. The small brass stud just above the pallet also doesn’t hold the escapement in place; it is there for the shutter ring spring only. The screw at the other end of the escapement holds a small lever, bush and spring for the flash contacts and does not hold the escapement in any way.
Note the aperture ring must be turned to position where all four screws are visible and one screw is longer than the other three and must be returned to this position
The shutter blades dismantle from the release lever anticlockwise
and are to be reinstalled clockwise from the position clockwise of the release lever
The retard escapement is held by these two small brass screws note where each came out from because although they look almost identical they are not and will only hold the escapement if you get them the correct way around
The shutter ring is held in position by five screws and washers which also locate the shutter blades
Shutter ring stud
Remember that long screw for the casing? It comes through the hole below this brass stud and makes an anchor point which tensions the shutter ring spring mounted on the base of this brass post. The spring needs to be moved towards the centre of the shutter whilst the screw is refitted
