Dynamic vocal microphone with switch. The windscreen integrated in the basket filters strong air movements
such as pop sounds or wind noise. The cardioid polar pattern provides optimal feedback protection and
suppresses off-axis sound sources.
General handling:
Aim the microphone as precisely as possible at the sound source to be recorded. Place the microphone as
close as possible to the sound source. Placing the microphone very close to the sound source will result in
additional bass boost. Avoid sources of noise in the vicinity of the microphone.
Use as a vocal microphone:
There are no fixed rules for the placement of a vocal microphone. There are, however, guidelines that can
help you to find the right sound and use it. A vocal microphone should be held less than 12cm from the
mouth and pointing directly towards the mouth with the basket to ensure a full, bass sound with maximum
possible isolation from other sound sources. The closer the sound source and microphone are to each other,
the stronger the so-called proximity effect, which provides a more powerful bass range. This microphone
position is recommended for stage use as a singer or for speeches. The most natural sound can be achieved
at a distance of 12-50cm with the microphone basket aimed at the root of the singer's nose. However, this
microphone position causes a weaker bass response and is much more susceptible to ambient noise. The
output level of the microphone is also significantly lower. When miking several sound sources, the
microphone should be placed at a distance of min. 50 and max. 200cm.
