1. GENERAL
1.1 Características
• Medidas de impedancia a 1 kHz de sistemas de altavoces.
• Tres escalas de medida (20 Ω / 200 Ω / 2000 Ω) que permiten la comprobación de
sistemas domésticos, auditorios y sistemas de megafonía.
• Funcionamiento a pilas para uso portátil.
• Función memorización de datos.
• La función temporizador permite el funcionamiento manos libres de forma continua.
El temporizador dura entre 3 y 5 minutos desde que el usuario pulsa el botón de
TEST ON/OFF deteniendo la medida hasta una nueva pulsación TEST ON/OFF.

2. PRESCRIPCIONES DE SEGURIDAD
* Conectar solamente a sistemas o altavoces desconectados de la amplificación.
* Recuerde que las tensiones superiores a 60 V DC ó 30 V AC rms son
potencialmente peligrosas.
* Observar en todo momento las condiciones ambientales máximas
especificadas para el aparato.
* El operador sólo está autorizado a intervenir en:
Sustitución de las pilas.
En el apartado de Mantenimiento se dan instrucciones específicas para esta
intervención.
Cualquier otro cambio en el equipo deberá ser efectuado exclusivamente por
personal especializado.
* Seguir estrictamente las recomendaciones de limpieza que se describen en el
apartado Mantenimiento.

4. MÉTODOS DE MEDIDA
ANTES DE PROCEDER A REALIZAR MEDIDAS, LEA LAS
PRESCRIPCIONES DE SEGURIDAD EN LA PÁGINA 3.
4.1 Medición de la impedancia
1. Asegúrese que el sistema a comprobar no esté conectado a la amplificación. Si se
conecta el medidor a una línea con tensión podría resultar gravemente dañado.
2. Si durante la operación aparece el símbolo
+

en la pantalla, sustituya las pilas
por otras nuevas, en caso contrario las medidas pueden ser erróneas.
3. Conectar las puntas de prueba a la impedancia a medir.
4. Girar el selector de escalas para establecer la escala adecuada, después pulsar el
botón TEST ON/OFF para realizar la medida. Escoger la escala en que se obtenga
la medida con mejor resolución.
4.1.1 Comprobación de un altavoz
La impedancia de los altavoces normalmente oscila entre 2 Ω y 16 Ω, utilizar la
escala de 20 Ω. En el caso de altavoces con transformador para conectar en líneas de
alta impedancia, utilizar las escalas de 200 Ω ó 2000 Ω.

4.1.2 Comprobación de un sistema de megafonía
1. Se recomienda trazar un esquema del sistema antes de proceder a su
comprobación, de forma que los datos obtenidos puedan atribuirse a la
configuración planteada.
2. Por ejemplo, la configuración de la figura, en un sistema de amplificadores de
megafonía de 260 W que utiliza una línea de 100 V.

3. La impedancia esperada debe ser de:
Z = V2 / P
Z = 1002 / P = 10000 / (10 + 50 + 200) = 38,46 Ω
4. Si la Z medida es menor que la esperada, comprobar la existencia de cortocircuitos
en cables, altavoces o transformadores defectuosos.
5. Si la Z medida es mayor, comprobar la presencia circuitos abiertos en el cableado o
en los componentes (altavoces, transformadores o conexiones) o errores de
conexionado.

4.2 Estimación de la potencia
1. En instalaciones de megafonía, si se conoce el tipo de línea de que se trata,
generalemente 100 V, 70 V ó 50 V y su impedancia se puede estimar la potencia
necesaria:
Sabiendo que:

Por ejemplo en un sistema de 100V, si la impedancia medida es de 200 Ω:
P = 100

/ 200 = 50 W
Cuantificar el valor de la potencia necesaria facilita la elección del amplificador
adecuado.
4.3 Función "DATA HOLD"
1. Pulsando el botón "DATA HOLD", se memoriza la lectura de la medida aún
después de desconectar las puntas de prueba. Aparece el símbolo
HOLD
en la
pantalla.
2. Se borra la lectura memorizada pulsando nuevamente "DATA HOLD".

5. MANTENIMIENTO
5.1 Sustitución de las pilas
Cuando el símbolo
+
-
aparece en la pantalla, sustituya las pilas como se indica
a continuación:
1. Desconectar las puntas de prueba del instrumento así como la alimentación.
2. Utilizar un destornillador para extraer los tornillos de la tapa posterior,
después deslizarla y retirar las pilas sustituyéndolas por 6 pilas nuevas del
tipo 1,5 V R6.
3. Colocar la tapa posterior y asegurarla con los 2 tornillos.
5.2 Limpieza y almacenamiento
PRECAUCIÓN: Para evitar descargas eléctricas o daños en el medidor, evite que
entre agua dentro de la caja.
De forma periódica, limpie la caja con un paño suave humedecido con agua y
detergente. No use abrasivos o disolventes.
Si no va a usar el instrumento en un período superior a 60 días, retire las pilas y
guárdelas por separado.

1. GENERAL
1.1 Features
• True measurement of speaker systems actual impedance at 1 kHz.
• Three test ranges (20 Ω / 200 Ω / 2000 Ω) allow testing of home theater and
speaker systems.
• Convenient portable battery operation.
• Data hold function.
• The timer function allows free hands continuous operation. It is activated
automatically after 3 to 5 minutes since the user presses the TEST ON/OFF button
stopping the measurement until a new TEST ON/OFF pulsation.

* Remember that voltages higher than 60 V DC or 30 V AC rms are dangerous.
* Use this instrument under the specified environmental conditions.
* The user is only authorised to carry out the following maintenance operations:
Battery replacement.
On the Maintenance paragraph the proper instructions are given.
Any other change on the equipment should be carried out by qualified
personnel.

4.1 Impedance measurement
1. Ensure the system under test is not live. Connecting the tester to a live line may
cause it serious damages.
2. In proceeding with measurement, if

3. Connect test leads to the impedance test points.
4. Rotary the function switch to suitable range then press the push button to test and
take the reading. Try a suitable range to obtain the best resolution.

4.1.1 Checking a speaker
Speakers are general from 2 Ω to 16 Ω, use 20 Ω range or for higher impedance
speakers, use 200 Ω or 2000 Ω range.

4.1.2 Checking speaker systems
1. A drawing of the system should be made before testing so the measurement can be
attributed to network.
2. By example, the following setup shows a speaker system of 260 W using a 100 V
voltage line.

3. Estimated impedance value should be:

4. If Z measured is lower, check for short circuited wires or faulty speakers or
transformers.
5. If Z measured is higher, check for wiring or components (speakers, transformers or
connections).

4.2 Power requirements estimation
1. At speaker systems, when the type of line is knows, generally 100 V, 70 V or 50 V,
as well as the impedance, then it is possible to calculate the power requirements:

For example on a 100V system, if Z measured is 200 Ω:

So, knowing the required power value allows to choice a suitable amplifier.
4.3 "DATA HOLD" function
1. Press the "DATA HOLD" button to save the measurement shill after disconnecting
the test leads. Il appears the

2. Press again the "DATA HOLD" button to erase the last measurement.

5. MAINTENANCE
5.1 Battery Replacement
When the symbol
+
-
appears on the display, replace with new batteries, as
follows:
1. Disconnect the test leads from the instrument and turn off the power.
2. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws on back cover then slide the cover,
take out the 6 batteries and replace with new batteries type 1.5V R6.
3. Place back cover and secure by 2 screws.
5.2 Cleaning and storage
WARNING: To avoid electrical shock or damage to the meter, do not get water inside
the case.

Periodically wipe the case with a damp cloth and detergent: do not use abrasives
or solvents.
If the meter is not to be used for periods of longer than 60 days, remove the
batteries and store them separately.
