SECTION 7-HEALTH HAZARDS AND FIRST AID SECTION 8-SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION
Effects of Overexposure:
Skin: Prolonged or repeated contact may cause irritation, defatting, or dermatitis.
Eyes: Eye irritant. May cause redness, swelling, or blurred vision.
Inhalation: May be irritating to the nose, throat, and lungs. Prolonged breathing can
cause headache, nausea, dizziness, weakness, and fatigue. Some reports have associated
repeated and prolonged occupational overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and
nervous system damage.
Ingestion: Can cause irritation of the gastrointestinal tract, nausea, vomiting, and
diarrhea. Aspiration of material into the lungs can cause pneumonitis.
Other: May cause liver damage and/or kidney damage.
Contains ethylbenzene, which has been determined by NTP to be an animal carcinogen
with no known relevance to humans. IARC has classified ethylbenzene as possibly
carcinogenic to humans (2b) on the basis of sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in
laboratory animals but inadequate evidence of cancer in humans.
First Aid Procedures:
Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash with soap and water. Seek medical attention
if irritation persists.
Eyes: Flush with large quantities of water, holding eyelids open. Seek medical attention.
Inhalation: Get to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Seek medical attention
if symptoms persist.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention immediately.
Respiratory Protection: NIOSH approved hydrocarbon cartridge or self-contained
apparatus when used in enclosed areas.
Ventilation Requirements: Provide local exhaust to keep TLV of Section 2 ingredients below acceptable limit. Open doors and windows when handling and during
drying period.
Protective Gloves: Solvent proof rubber recommended.
Eye Protection: Safety glasses recommended.
Other Protective Equipment: Eye wash station should be available nearby. Protective
clothing and footwear (rubber boots) when using on floors.
