Pro-Ject Set“ Mediaplayer”
Dear music lover,
thank you for purchasing a Pro-Ject “Mediaplayer” Set. In order to achieve maximum performance and reliability you should study these instructions for use carefully.

Important notice.
Safety instructions
AC outlet voltages vary from country to country. Before connecting to the mains, make sure that the voltage in your area meets the voltage requirements printed on the power supply.
The power cord/power supply is used to disconnect the unit from the mains. Make sure that the power cord/power supply is easily accessible at all times. cord/power supply while your hands are wet or damp.

Avoid letting liquids enter the device or the power supply. Never place any item containing liquid, such as a flower vase on or near the device. Never spill any liquid on the device or the power supply. Never place any naked flame sources, such as lighted candles on or near the device. The product shall not be used in damp or wet locations, next to a bathtub, sink, swimming pool or any other similar conditions.

Connecting amplifier and mediaplayer
Connect, using the supplied interconnect cable, the sockets IN1 on the amplifier to the sockets OUT on the Media Box S.
Inputs Line level sources such as CD player radio or TV can be connected to the input sockets marked IN1 or IN2.
Take care to connect the left and right channels correctly. The right channel is usually marked red,

the left channel black or white.

Connecting amplifier and speakers
The output terminals accept loudspeaker cables terminated with 4mm Banana plugs, spades connectors or naked wire. Connect the cable terminals on the amplifier to the terminals on the speakers.
The red speaker terminals carry the positive signal (+), the black speaker terminals the negative signal (–). Make sure the polarity of the connection is correct at each end of the cables.

Only connect one loudspeaker with an impedance not less than 4 ohms per channel.
Record output, connecting a headphone amplifier - Stereo Box S
Record Out connects an analogue record device ore a Pro-Ject Head Box headphone amplifier.
Record Out provides a fixed output level.

The Analog and the digital output cannot be used at the same time. To be able to use the analog

output, the digital output has to be disengaged in the menue and vice versa. Make all connections whilst the Media Box S is disconnected from the power supply.
Connection to a external A/D-converter
Connect the Out S/P DIF socket to a coaxial digital input on the D/A converter or AV processor. Doing so allows you to use the signal in its digital for further digital processing.
Mains power connection
Stereo Box S Connect the low voltage plug from the power supply to the Power 20V supply to the mains.
Media Box S Connect the low voltage plug from the power supply to the Power 9V supply to the mains.

Never use any other power supply than the one supplied with the particular unit.

To switch on from standby or to standby - Stereo Box S
The push button (press and hold to switch into standby mode) on the left hand side of the front panel turns the unit on or back into standby. The blue LED above the stand-by push button shows that the unit is switched on.
Input selector - Stereo Box S
After the unit is powered on, pressing the push button on the right, selects the In 1 and In 2 inputs in turn. The optional input expander Pro-Ject Switch Box S provides three more inputs. For further details please see the
user guide of the Pro-Ject Switch Box S.
Volume - Stereo Box S
Adjust the volume to the desired level, using the large knob on the front panel.

To switch on from standby or to standby - Media Box S
The push button on the left hand side will toggle the player between its fully operational status and standby. The blue LED above the stand-by push button shows that the unit is switched on. The display shows STANDBY when the unit is in standby.
If there is no SD card inserted, or no USB-device connected, the unit will returns to standby automatically. After switching to standby, the display shows the current software version.
Navigating the menu and playlists, main menu
and moves the curser up and down, to highlight the requested option in menus and playlists.
displays the main menu and starts playback of a selected track in a playlist.
Play / Pause
Pressing starts and pauses playback. Restarts playback from the same position after stopping.
displays the playlist. starts playback of a selected track in a playlist. Starts playback of the next track.

While playback and pause, the display shows the repeat play and the shuffle mode, the data format (MP3) and the selected input (card reader/USB).

as a default setting the unit is in “repeat all” mode (RP.ALL). Repeatedly pressing selects the different
repeat and shuffle play modes: “repeat folder” (RP.Fol), “repeat track” (RP.One), “random play - all tracks” (Rand.A), “play all tracks” (PL.ALL), “play all tracks in folder” (PL.Fol) and “play current track” (PL.One).

Replacing batteries
Proceed as follows:
 Unlock and slide open the battery case cover  Replace the battery.
Make sure the battery is the right way round !
 Close the battery case cover
Battery type: 1 x CR2032 / 3V or 1 x CR2025 / 3V
Do not dispose the batteries as ordinary domestic refuse. Please dispose your exhausted batteries at the appropriate collection sites - usually located at supermarkets and drugstores.

Should you encounter a problem which you are not able to alleviate or identify, please contact your dealer for further advice. Only when the problem cannot be resolved there should the unit be sent to the responsible distributor in your country.
