Hunting binoculars 8x56 item no. 30884
Thank you for purchasing these high quality binoculars. Please read these instructions for use thoroughly before use and keep them in a safe place. Following all of these instructions will provide you with many years of pleasure in using this product.
1. General information
2. Information on safety and use
- Try to avoid severe shaking resp. vibrations. When not being used, store the binoculars in a dry place in the case included in delivery.
- Avoid keeping the binoculars in a motor vehicle for longer periods of time, particularly during extreme sunshine, rainy weather or cold. The significant differences in temperature and humidity as well as vibrations, which can occur, can damage the lenses.
- Never look directly into the sun with the binoculars or with your bare eyes! This can lead to severe eye damage or even result in blindness!
3. Basic principles, terms
Binoculars are usually characterised by a number combination, here 8 x 56. The 8 indicates the magnification factor and 56 the diameter of the lens in millimetres. Given that this diameter determines how much light can penetrate the lens, it is an essential attribute for the capability of the binoculars, particularly at dawn and twilight. The observation range (visual field) of the binoculars is the field of vision at a 1000 m distance. This amounts to approx. 115 m for these binoculars. The dioptre control enables an adjustment of a user’s visual impairment. It is carried out using the rotatable right eyepiece.

4. Adjustment, use
The binoculars feature a central focusing wheel (B), with which both eyepieces are simultaneously focused on the sharpest image according to the observed distance. To compensate for individual differences between the left and right eye, the right eyepiece (A) can be adjusted separately.
Adjustment of the eye distance
- Hold the binoculars with both hands and adjust them by tilting the sides so that you can only see a circle as field of vision. You should not be able to see any annoying shadows or edges any more.
Adjustment of the dioptre control
- Set the right eyepiece to „0“ opposite the white dot on the housing (underneath the eyepiece) by turning it.
- Now, close your right eye and only observe using your left eye. Now, by turning the central focusing wheel (B), adjust the binoculars so that you can see a clear, sharp image.
- Open your right eye and close your left eye. Now, turn the right eyepiece until you can see the object clearly and sharply. Remember this setting of the dioptre scale for later use.
- Now, both eyepieces are adjusted in the same way and you only need to use the central focusing wheel to observe objects at different distances.
- The protruding eye cups shield your eyes against stray light. If you are wearing eyeglasses while using the binoculars, retract the eye cups (C) so that they rest around the eyepiece.
- When wearing eyeglasses while using the binoculars, please pay attention to the correct distance between the binoculars and the eyeglasses; on the one hand, to prevent damaging the eyeglasses and on the other hand, to be able to engage the full field of vision.
- If you are far- or near-sighted, you should use the binoculars without your eyeglasses and adjust the sharpness using the central focusing wheel or in the case of one-sided visual impairment, make additional adjustments using the right eyepiece.
Look for an object, adjust sharpness
- Adjust the eye distance (see above).
- Aim the binoculars towards the object of observation and adjust the sharpness using the central focusing wheel (B).
5. Maintenance and cleaning
Only use the cleaning cloth included in delivery or another soft cloth such as an eyeglasses cleaning cloth e.g. to clean the lenses. As an alternative, you can use a soft cleaning brush. In the event of stubborn residual dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with pure alcohol or lens cleaner from a specialist camera shop. Never disassemble the binoculars for cleaning purposes! Store the binoculars in a dry and dust-free place and always in the closed case. Always put the dust caps on the eyepieces and lenses when not in use.
If used properly, you have a 2-year warranty on this product.
