Please use the below calculation to estimate the amount of aked ice required to ll the deck of a FISK
fresh sh display. These calculations are based on the density of the aked ice produced by the Prodis GR
series ice akers. To calculate the requirements with other ice machines please ask the manufacturer for
their ice density Kg/m3 value.
Deck Size / Ice Volume Calculation
DV. The volume of ice required for a FISK30 is calculated as follows
2.847m x 0.95m x 0.18m = 0.487m3 of aked ice

Ice Kg required = (vol m3 x ice density Kg x ice voids coecient / ice loss coecient
DV x ID x IV / IL = IR
Example based on a FISK30 deck volume (DV)
0.487 x 917 x 0.5 / 0.9 = 248.09Kg of aked ice
Conclusion
The above calculations have been made as an example using the Prodis FISK30 display deck and aked
ice produced by the Prodis GR series of ice akers.
When calculating your ice requirements from other manufactuers it is important to check the production
values of your ice maker keeping in mind the ambient air and water temperature supplied to the ice
maker as the production capacity may vary .
It is also important to check the storage bin size of your ice maker to ensure that there is ample ice to
completely ll the deck of the sh counter
