VOOR HET GEBRUIK

Deze gebruiksaanwijzing eerst geheel doorlezen en bewaren om later nog eens te kunnen raadplegen.
Controleer of de netspanning in de woning overeenkomt met die van het apparaat. Sluit dit apparaat
alleen op een geaard stopcontact aan.

De waterkoker heeft een (verwijderbaar) filter in de uitschenkopening. Doordat de kan van de voet
afgenomen kan worden en 360 graden draaibaar is op de ronde basis, is de waterkoker bijzonder
praktisch in gebruik voor zowel links- als rechtshandigen. Het geïntegreerde element is ongevoelig voor
kalkaanslag en heeft daardoor een langere levensduur. Voorzien van aan-/uitschakelaar en veilige deksel­vergrendeling. Er is tevens een drievoudige veiligheid ingebouwd: stoomafslag, droogkookbeveiliging en
oververhittingsbeveiliging.

GEBRUIK VAN DE WATERKOKER

Gebruik de waterkoker uitsluitend voor het aan de kook brengen van water, niet voor andere vloeistoffen
en ook niet voor andere ingrediënten. Kook eerst een volle kan water om de kan te reinigen; gooi dit
water weg.

Vul de kan altijd met een hoeveelheid water die tussen de minimum- en maximumvulstrepen ligt. Bij te
weinig water zal de kan te vroeg uitschakelen, bij te veel kan het water overkoken. Bij het vullen de kan
altijd van de voet nemen, zodat er geen gemorst water in de voet kan lopen.

Schakel de kan in door de aan-/uitschakelaar naar boven te drukken. Het controlelampje gaat aan. Zodra
het water kookt, springt de aan-/uitschakelaar automatisch terug in de uitstand.

Als de kan per abuis droog ingeschakeld wordt, schakelt de droogkookbeveiliging hem automatisch uit.
Door de kan daarna met water te vullen, koelt de droogkookbeveiliging weer af en kunt u de kan op de
normale wijze gebruiken.

Let op:

• Neem de kan pas van de voet nadat deze automatisch uitgeschakeld is of schakel deze eerst met de
hand uit.

• Vul de kan niet verder dan tot het maatstreepje ‘MAX’, anders kan er kokend water uitgestoten worden.

• Gebruik de waterkoker alleen met de bijbehorende voet.

• Rol het snoer volledig uit, laat dit niet om de voet gerold.

SCHOONMAKEN

HAAL EERST DE STEKKER UIT HET STOPCONTACT EN LAAT DE KAN AFKOELEN!
De buitenkant van de PRINCESS ROYAL KETTLE kan met een vochtige doek
afgenomen worden. De voet dient altijd droog gereinigd te worden.

ONTKALKEN
Gebruik een ontkalkingsmiddel dat geschikt is voor huishoudelijke apparaten, zoals koffiezetapparaten.
Gebruik het middel volgens de aanwijzingen op de verpakking. Schakel de kan niet in tijdens het ontkalken,
maar laat het middel koud inweken. Spoel na het ontkalken de kan enige malen om met schoon water.

PRINCESS-TIPS

- Plaats het toestel op een stevige en stabiele ondergrond.

- Dompel de waterkoker en de voet nooit in water of andere vloeistof onder.

- De buitenkant van de kan wordt vrij warm. Pak de kan dus alleen bij de handgreep beet.

- Zorg dat het apparaat niet zo dicht bij de rand van tafel, werkblad e.d. staat dat iemand

het eraf zou kunnen stoten; zorg ook dat het snoer niet zodanig hangt dat men erover zou
kunnen struikelen of erachter blijven haken. Bedenk dat de kan gevuld is met heet water!

- Gebruik het apparaat niet als het beschadigd is of als het snoer beschadigd is, maar stuur

het dan naar onze servicedienst. Bij dit type toestellen kan een beschadigd snoer
uitsluitend met speciaal gereedschap door onze servicedienst vervangen worden.

- Plaats het apparaat niet op of in de directe nabijheid van een hete kookplaat e.d.

- Trek altijd de stekker uit het stopcontact vóór het schoonmaken en bij storingen.

- Zorg ervoor dat kinderen niet met dit apparaat spelen.

- Het is niet zonder gevaar om dit apparaat te laten gebruiken door kinderen of personen met een geestelijke

of lichamelijke handicap, of met te weinig ervaring of deskundigheid. De voor de veiligheid van deze
gebruikers verantwoordelijke persoon dient ze duidelijke instructies te geven voor of ze te begeleiden
bij het gebruik van dit apparaat.

BEFORE USING

Read these instructions thoroughly first and keep them for future reference. Check whether the voltage
in the home corresponds with that of the appliance. Only connect this appliance to an earthed socket.

The kettle has a (removable) filter in the spout. The fact that the pot is completely detachable and rotates
a full 360 degrees on the circular base makes the kettle especially easy to use for both left-handed and
right-handed people. The integrated element is not vulnerable to limescale for a longer life-span.
Complete with on/off switch, safe lid locking system. With built-in three-way safety feature: steam
cut-off, boil-dry protection and overheat protection.

USING THE KETTLE

The kettle should be used exclusively for boiling water; never use it with other liquids or ingredients.
First boil a full pot of water to clean the pot and discard this water.

Always fill the pot between the minimum and maximum level markers. If insufficient water is used, the
kettle may switch off, with too much water it may boil over. Always remove the pot when filling it to
avoid water dripping into the base.

Switch it on by pushing up the on/off button in the handle. The indicator lamp will be illuminated. Once
the water has boiled, the on/off switch returns automatically to the off position.

If the appliance is accidentally switched on when empty, the boil-dry protection will automatically switch
it off. Adding water will then cool the boil-dry protection mechanism enabling you to use the kettle as normal.

Note:

• Do not remove the pot from its base until it has switched off automatically or you have switched it
off yourself first.

• Do not fill the pot higher than the MAX level indicator or boiling water may spray out.

• The kettle may only be used with the accompanying base.

• The cord should be completely unrolled and not left rolled around the base.

CLEANING

FIRST REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE SOCKET AND ALLOW THE POT TO COOL.
The outside of the PRINCESS ROYAL KETTLE can be wiped down with a damp cloth. The base should
always be cleaned without water.

DESCALING

Use a descaling agent suitable for household appliances, such as coffee machines. Follow the instructions
on the packaging. Do not switch the kettle on during descaling, but allow the agent to soak in while the
kettle is still cool. Rinse the pot several times with clean water.

PRINCESS TIPS

- Set the kettle on a sturdy, stable surface.

- Never immerse the kettle in water or any other liquid.

- The exterior can become quite hot. Only pick up the pot using the handle.

- Ensure that the appliance is not so close to the edge of a table, counter top, etc., that
someone could knock it over. Do not allow the cord to hang over the edge or on the
floor, as someone may become entangled or trip over it. Remember: the appliance
contains hot water!

- Do not use the equipment if it is damaged, or if the lead is damaged. Send it to our
Service Department. With this type of appliance, a damaged cord should only be
replaced by our service department using special tools.

- Do not place the appliance on or directly adjacent to a warm hotplate or other source
of heat.

- Always unplug the appliance before cleaning or if any fault develops.

- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

- The use of this appliance by children or persons with a physical, sensory, mental or motorial disability,

or lack of experience and knowledge can give cause to hazards. Persons responsible for their safety
should give explicit instructions or supervise the use of the appliance.

U.K. WIRING INSTRUCTIONS

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:

BLUE = neutral, BROWN = LIVE, GREEN-YELLOW = EARTH

As the colours of the wire in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the colour
markings identifying the terminals on your plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
The wire which is coloured GREEN-YELLOW must be connected to the earth terminal which is marked
with the letter E or or coloured green and yellow.
With this appliance, if a 13 amp plug is used a 13 amp fuse should be fitted. If any other type of plug is
used a 15 amp fuse must be fitted either in the plug or at the distribution board.

AVANT L'EMPLOI

Lisez attentivement ce mode d'emploi et conservez-le afin de pouvoir le consulter ultérieurement si
nécessaire. Assurez-vous que le voltage de votre logement correspond à celui indiqué sur l'appareil.
Raccordez l’appareil uniquement à une prise de terre.

La bouilloire est équipée d’un filtre (amovible) intégré dans l’orifice du verseur. La bouilloire se détache
de son socle et peut pivoter de 360 degrés ce qui la rend très pratique à utiliser aussi bien pour les
droitiers que les gauchers. L’élément de chauffe intégré est résistant au calcaire ce qui lui garantit une
longue durée de vie. Equipée d’un interrupteur marche/arrêt et d’un dispositif de verrouillage du couver­cle pour la sécurité. Triple sécurité intégrée : arrêt automatique, protection anti-usage à sec et protection
anti-surchauffe.

UTILISATION DE LA BOUILLOIRE

Utiliser la bouilloire uniquement pour faire bouillir de l’eau. Ne pas l’utiliser pour tout autre liquide ou
autres ingrédients. Faire d’abord bouillir une pleine bouilloire pour la nettoyer; ne pas utiliser cette eau.

Toujours remplir la bouilloire de façon à ce que le niveau d’eau arrive entre les traits minimum et
maximum. S’il n’y a pas suffisamment d’eau, la bouilloire s’arrêtera trop tôt et s’il y en a trop, l’eau
pourra déborder. Toujours détacher le récipient de son socle pour le remplir d’eau afin de ne pas renverser
de l’eau à l’intérieur du socle.

Allumez la bouilloire en poussant vers le haut l’interrupteur Marche/Arrêt. Le témoin lumineux s'allume.
Dès que l’eau bout, la bouilloire s’arrête automatiquement et l’interrupteur revient en position Arrêt.

Si par inadvertance la bouilloire est allumée sans contenir d’eau, le système de sécurité anti-usage à sec se
déclenchera automatiquement pour l’arrêter. Remplissez alors la bouilloire d’eau, ce qui fera
refroidir le dispositif de sécurité, et vous pourrez de nouveau utiliser la bouilloire normalement.

Attention :

• Ne détacher la bouilloire de son socle qu’après l’arrêt automatique ou l’éteindre d’abord
à la main.

• Ne jamais remplir la bouilloire au–delà du niveau “MAX” sinon l’eau bouillante déborderait.

• Utiliser uniquement cette bouilloire avec le socle fourni.

• Dérouler entièrement le cordon ; ne pas le laisser enrouler sur le socle.
