USE

To toast, set the desired browning level by means of the browning control (1 is the lightest and 6 is the darkest setting). To achieve the degree of browning desired, you can experiment with the setting. Different breads will toast at different rates, wholemeal bread takes longer than white bread, fresh bread will take longer than day old bread. Remember to adjust your browning control to allow for your particular type of bread.
Put a slice of bread in one end of either slot. You can place 2 slices in each slot, so a maximum of 4 slices. Make sure the crumb tray is inserted in place before use.
Press the toaster handle down until it engages.
Once the bread has been toasted to the desired colour, the handle will pop up automatically.
Do not use a knife, cutlery or any other object to remove the bread from the device or to clean the device. If the bread becomes lodged in the toaster, remove the plug from the wall socket and let the toaster cool down before attempting to remove it. Caution! Toast can burn.
During toasting, you can check the colour of the bread. If it is done to your satisfaction, you can simply press the cancel button to cancel the operation at any time.

If the bread is frozen, perform the same operations as above but press the defrost button immediately after pressing down the handle. The defrost indicator will be illuminated. In this mode the bread will be toasted to your desired colour setting.
If you want to reheat cold toasted bread, press the reheat button and the indicator will be illuminated. This mode has a fixed time setting.
The toaster is equipped with a bun warmer. This rack can be used for food that cannot be placed inside the slots (e.g. rolls, baguettes, croissants). Simply lift the bun rack using the handle at the side and place your bread on top. Set the desired browning level by means of the browning control (1 is the lightest and 6 is the darkest setting). Press the toaster handle down until it engages. Check the colour of the bread. If it is done to your satisfaction, you can simply press the cancel button to cancel the operation at any time. Never place aluminium foil on the bun rack. Never warm and toast at the same time!
