1) Subject:
Install an AC-reactor on FS16/23/33/40/55, RS27/35.
This kit is suitable for all versions except FS40/55 3x200-240V :
- suitable for FS16/23/33, RS27/35 for all supply voltages (1x208-240V / 3x208-240V / 3x380415V+N / 3x380-480V without N)
- suitable for FS40/55 for 3x380-480(+N), but NOT for 3x200-240V.
This will improve machine reliability on poor power supply systems with spikes and dips.
2) Needed tools:
2 Wrenches M13
- For 1-ph inverter : Wires 2,5mm², length 50cm (4Pc, preferably blue and black)
- For 3-ph inverter (FS16-23 / FS33 400V / RS27-35) : Wires 2,5mm², length
50cm (6Pc, preferably black)
- For 3-ph inverter (FS33 200V / FS40 / FS55) : Wires 4mm², length 50cm (6Pc,

4) Instructions:
4.a) Instruction for FS16:
Place the AC-reactor on a suitable place in the
machine.
1-ph inverter (standard version):
Mount the AC-reactor in the contactor box. Move
the wirings where necessary.
3-ph inverter (3x380-480V without N only):
Since there is used a transformer for the control
circuit, it is not possible to mount the AC-reactor
in the contactor box.
Therefor mount the AC-reactor on the rearbridge, beside the water valves.
Drill 4 holes (diam. 10mm) and fix the ACreactor with the included bolts and nuts.
Make sure that no burs from the drilling can
enter the frequency inverter or other
components.

1-ph inverter (standard version):
Disconnect the 2 thick wires (normally black and
blue) from the inverter contactor (CFI) that come
from the mainswitch.
Put the small wires back on the contactor
terminals.
3-ph inverter (3x380-480V without N only):
Disconnect the 3 wires (normally black) from the
inverter contactor (CFI) that come from the
mainswitch.
1-ph inverter :
Connect these wires to terminals U1 and V1 of
the AC-reactor.
3-ph inverter :
Connect these wires to terminals U1, V1 and W1
of the AC-reactor.
1-ph inverter :
Connect terminals U2 and V2 to the inverter
contactor by new wires, to the same terminals
where you have disconnected the 2 other wires.
Terminals W1 and W2 of the AC-reactor will not
be used if the inverter is 1-phase.
3-ph inverter :
Connect terminals U2,V2,W2 to the inverter
contactor by new wires, to the same terminals
where you have disconnected the 3 other wires
Make sure to attach and connect all wirings so
that they can not be damaged.

4.b) Instruction for FS23:
Place the AC-reactor on top of the box of the
frequency inverter.
Drill 4 holes (diam. 10mm) and fix the ACreactor with the included bolts and nuts.
Make sure that no burs from the drilling can
enter the frequency inverter or other
components.

4c) Instruction for FS33/40/55:
Place the AC-reactor on a suitable place in the
electrical box at the back of the machine.

Make sure that no burs from the drilling can
enter the frequency inverter or other
components.

Disconnect the 3 wires (normally black) from the
input side of the inverter contactor (CFI).
Connect these 3 wires to terminals U1, V1 and
W1 of the AC-reactor. You migth have to replace
the original wires by longer ones.
Connect terminals U2,V2,W2 to the inverter
contactor (input side) by new wires, to the same
terminals where you have disconnected the 3
other wires
Make sure to attach and connect all wirings so
that they can not be damaged by vibrations.

4.d) Instruction for RS27/35:
Place the AC-reactor on a suitable place in the
machine.
The most easy is to mount it in the corner of the
back panel, but it has the small disadvantage
that you always need to disconnect the wires if
you want to open the back panel.
Drill 4 holes (diam. 10mm) and fix the ACreactor with the included bolts and nuts.
Make sure that no burs from the drilling can
enter the frequency inverter or other
components.

1-ph inverter (standard version):
Disconnect the 2 wires (normally blue and black)
from the mainswitch that go to the filter.
3-ph inverter (3x380-480V without N only):
Disconnect the 3 wires (normally black) from the
inverter contactor (CFI) that come from the
mainswitch.
1-ph inverter :
Connect these wires to terminals U2 and V2 of
the AC-reactor.
3-ph inverter :
Connect these wires to terminals U1, V1 and W1
of the AC-reactor.
1-ph inverter :
Connect terminals U1 and V1 of the AC-reactor
to the mainswitch by new wires, to the same
terminals where you have disconnected the 2
other wires.
5) Remarks:
If you have a machine with a transformer for the control circuit, this transformer fulfills the same protection
function as the AC-reactor. It means that the AC-reactor is only necessary in the circuit of the inverter, it is not
necessary to put the AC-reactor also in the circuit of the control circuit (but it is allowed).
