General Instructio ns

• When mounted in damp positions such as a bathroom or laundry, special
precautions must be follow ed.

• A competent installer, preferably registered with NICEIC (National Inspection
Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) in accordance with the 16th Edition
of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:1992) and any relevant Local Authority
By-Laws, should carry out the electrical wiring installations for this unit.

• Connection to the electricity supply should be via a double pole switch, with
each pole having a minimum of 3mm contact gap.

• To ensure compliance to the Safety Requirements applicable to fixed-wiring
installations, it is recommended that a Switched Fused Connection Unit to BS
5733 is used.

• This appliance should be mounted on a non-combustible surface.

Installation Instructions

• Ensure the unit is positioned at least 1.8 metres above the floor and out of
reach of a person using a bath or shower.

• Before disconnecting the light fitting and assembling the new heat light unit
DISCONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY AT THE MAINS.

• Loosen the three screws from the ceiling plate but do not remove.

• Twist the plate and detach from the case of the unit.

• Offer the ceiling plate up to the ceiling and mark position of the securing screws

through the holes provided. Make sure that the outside edge of the unit is at least
200mm from the nearest wall.

• Secure the ceiling plate using suitable screws (screws not provided, can be
No.8 wood screws) to the ceiling and ensure it is firmly held.

• Connect he mains lead to the terminal block. Connect the RED or BROWN
wire to the terminal marked “(L) Live”, then connect the BLACK or BLUE wire to
the terminal marked “(N) Neutral”, then connect the GREEN or COPPER wire to
the terminal marked “(E) Earth”.

• THIS APPLIC ANCE MUST BE EARTHED

• Inspect connections and reassemble the heat/light unit onto the ceiling plate,

twist into the position and tighten the securing screws.

• Fit a lamp (up to 100 watts), ensure all packaging has been removed and the
guard is in place. Reconnect to supply. Your heater is now ready for operation. If
in doubt consult a qualified electrician.

General Usage

• The appliance incorporates light or heat only functions as well as a combination
heat and light operation.

• The ab ove heat/light settings are chosen by pulling gently downwards on the
pull cord switch.

• The particular setting in operation may be seen by observing the indicator near
the shade of the appliance.

Important Safeguard - Caution

• Do not cover this appliance.

• This appliance must not be installed less than 1.8 metres from the floor

nor must it be within hand reach of a person while using a bath, shower or
swimming pool.

Cleaning of Appliance

• Please ensure that the appliance is turned OFF and is allowed to cool down
completely before cleaning.

• Use a piece of dry clean cloth to clean the dust and dirt on the metal reflector. If
necessary, add a few drops of mild cleaning agent.

This product is guaranteed for 3 years from the date of purchase when the
appliance is used solely for domestic purposes. For commercial use the product is
guaranteed for 90 days from the date of purchase.

The guarantee is valid against mechanical or electrical defects if the product is used
in accordance with the instructions and provided that it is not connected to an
unsuitable electricity supply or dismantled, interfered with or damaged in any way.

IMPORTANT, PLEASE RETAIN THIS WARRANTY
Please ask your retailer to either stamp this warranty or simply attach your

store receipt. Keep this warranty somewhere safe. DO NOT SEND TO PRIMA.
This guarantee in no way affects your rights under statutory law.
IF THE PRODUCT MALFUNCTIONS DURING ITS WARRANTY PERIOD IT MUST

BE RETURNED TO THE RETAILER FROM WHOM IT WAS PURCHASED FOR
REPLACEMENT. IF YOU BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT VIA MAIL ORDER, PLEASE
KEEP ALL THE DOCUMENTATION THAT CAME WHEN THE UNIT WAS
DELIVERED.
