General Instructio ns

When mounted in damp positions such as a bathroom or laundry, special precautions must be follow ed.
A competent installer, preferably registered with NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) in accordance with the 16th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:1992) and any relevant Local Authority By-Laws, should carry out the electrical wiring installations for this unit.
Connection to the electricity supply should be via a double pole switch, with each pole having a minimum of 3mm contact gap.
To ensure compliance to the Safety Requirements applicable to fixed-wiring installations, it is recommended that a Switched Fused Connection Unit to BS 5733 is used.
This appliance should be mounted on a non-combustible surface.

Installation Instructions

Ensure the unit is positioned at least 1.8 metres above the floor and out of reach of a person using a bath or shower.
Before disconnecting the light fitting and assembling the new heat light unit DISCONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY AT THE MAINS.
Loosen the three screws from the ceiling plate but do not remove.
Twist the plate and detach from the case of the unit.
Offer the ceiling plate up to the ceiling and mark position of the securing screws
through the holes provided. Make sure that the outside edge of the unit is at least 200mm from the nearest wall.
Secure the ceiling plate using suitable screws (screws not provided, can be No.8 wood screws) to the ceiling and ensure it is firmly held.
