Congratulations on choosing “Priefert’s Speed Trainer.”
The Speed Trainer by Priefert was developed with the assistance of 8x World Champion Team Roper Speed Williams. This training aid is designed to improve a competitor’s horsemanship, roping, and their overall speed in their chosen event.
The stationary”Speedy”model can be set up in any location to allow the rider to isolate and practice a wide variety of the aspects that make up a good run.

Terminology
“Right” or “Left” as used in this manual is determined by facing forward
in the direction the operator would be seated while in use, unless otherwise stated.
“NOTE:” provides the operator a brief summary of information that will assist in operating the equipment.
“IMPORTANT:” denotes that the following content has signicance in the
operation or maintenance of the equipment.
“REMINDER:” provides information previously addressed, but important enough to address again for equipment or assembly familiarization.
Owner Assistance
If customer service or repair parts are required, contact Priefert Manufacturing to reach our trained personnel who will assist you with repair parts and equipment needed to service your Speed Trainer. The parts on your Speed Trainer have been specically designed and should only be replaced with genuine Priefert parts. Therefore, should your Priefert Speed Trainer require replacement parts, contact our Support Center.
Customer Service
Priefert Manufacturing wants you to be satised with your new Speed Trainer. If for any reason you are not satised with the equipment, the
following actions are suggested:
Contact your Priefert Ranch Equipment dealer and discuss any problems that you may be experiencing. Allow them the opportunity to assist in correcting any problems that you may be experiencing.

Using this manual:
This manual provides information necessary to safely and e󰀨ectively
operate your Speed Trainer. This manual also provides manufacturer’s recommendation of proper use and operation, as well as, instructions for height and sensitivity adjustments. Read these instructions completely prior to use and adjustments, and follow the recommendations to help
ensure safe and e󰀨ective operation.
The information contained herein was current at the time of printing. These
instructions are a compilation of engineering data and eld experience, and
are designed to help you with proper safety, operation and adjustments.
Your model may vary in design and conguration from those shown in this
manual. There is a possibility that some illustrations in our manuals were of prototype models. Design of production models may vary in detail from those shown in our manuals.
Priefert Manufacturing maintains an ongoing program of continuous product improvement. Therefore, Priefert reserves the right to make
improvements or modications in design, or specication changes without
incurring any obligation to replace said items on units previously sold.

Safety Alert Symbols
The SAFETY ALERT SYMBOL indicates there is a potential hazard to personal safety involved and extra safety precaution must be taken. When you see this symbol, be alert and carefully read the message
that follows it. In addition to design and conguration of equipment, hazard
control and accident prevention are dependent upon the awareness, concern, prudence and proper training of personnel involved in the operation, transport, maintenance and storage of equipment.
Owner/operator can prevent and may be responsible for accidents or injuries occurring to other people, themselves, and/or property and equipment.
Thoroughly read and understand the installation, operation, references and other material supplied with the Speed Trainer. If the installer or operator cannot read English, it is the owner’s responsibility to explain this material to them.
Adult Supervision is mandatory during the use of this equipment. Do not allow untrained people to operate or service equipment.
Warning
Be familiar with the proper use of this equipment prior to operation. Improper use or use other than intended by the manufacturer can lead to injury or death.
Safety Practices
The Speed Trainer is a tool to assist in the training of roping skills and should be used for that purpose only. Therefore, Priefert requires that anyone using the Speed Trainer be familiar with functions and adjustments to provide the best and safest results.
Follow these guidelines when using the Speed Trainer:
• Do Not Attempt to tow the Speed Trainer, or propel it in any manner.
The Speed Trainer is designed for stationary use only.
• Do Not use the Speed Trainer on hills, or attempt to roll during use.
• Use the Speed Trainer on solid, level surface, such as hard-packed road
surface or concrete.
• Never use the Speed Trainer on soft surface ground or on arena base.
The Speed Trainer is not stable on soft surfaces.
• Never allow children to use the Speed Trainer without adult supervision.
• Never allow more than one person on the Speed Trainer at any time.
• Always use a saddle. Always fasten the saddle securely.
• Never attempt to raise or lower while seated on, or while others are
seated on the Speed Trainer. Make all adjustments prior to mounting the Speed Trainer.
• Keep hands and feet clear of moving parts while adjusting the height of
the Speed Trainer.
• Visually inspect the Speed Trainer prior to use. Make sure all components
are in proper working order. If necessary, make repairs prior to use.
Follow basic electrical safety precautions to protect yourself from harm and the equipment from damage.
To avoid a shock hazard:
• Make sure all electric cords are in good condition before use.
• Do not exceed 100 feet when using extension cords.
• Connect all power cords to a properly wired and grounded electrical outlet.
• The Speed Trainer is designed to operate on 110VAC 60Hz current only.
• Disconnect the attached power cords, extension cords or cables after use.
• Never move or relocate the Speed Trainer while connected to an electrical power source.
• Do not connect or disconnect any power cords attached to this product during an electrical storm.
• Never expose Speed Trainer to rain or inclement weather conditions. Be sure Trainer is dry prior to connecting to any power source.
• Contact Priefert Manufacturing prior to attempting service or repairs to any electrical component. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
BE AWARE OF SIGNAL WORDS: A signal word designates a degree of level of hazard seriousness.
NOTE: Provides helpful information to the operator.
IMPORTANT: Indicates failure to observe may cause damage to
equipment.
