II. About this Book

Thank you for purchasing the Presidium Carat Scale (PCS-50 / PCS-50LFT).

This handbook is designed to help you set up your scale and describes all you need to know about how to use your scale accurately and take care of it in line with its requirements. Please read these instructions carefully and keep them handy for future reference.

This book also contains the terms and conditions in relation to the use of the tester including the Disclaimer,

EXCLUSION and Limitation of Liability clauses stated above in Section I.

III. About your Presidium Carat Scale

The Presidium Carat Scale utilizes a strain gauge load-cell to provide output in terms of millivolts, which is then converted to weight by a micro-controller inside the scale.

The Presidium Carat Scale features the following:

• Four conversion options (gram, carat, ounce, grain)

• Three trays for di󰀨erent uses

All Presidium scales are factory calibrated. Currently the PCS-50LFT is Legal For Trade in the 34 US states, shown below.

IV. IMPORTANT NOTICE

• Keep the tester dry. Precipitation and all types of liquids or moisture can contain minerals that will corrode electronic circuits. If your tester does get wet, remove the battery, and allow the tester to dry completely before replacing it.

• Do not use, store or expose the scale in dusty and dirty areas. Its moving parts and electronic components can be damaged.

• Do not use, store or expose the scale in hot areas. High temperatures can damage or shorten the life of the tester, damage batteries, and warp or melt certain plastics.

• Do not use, store or expose the scale in cold areas. When the tester returns to its normal temperature, moisture can form inside the tester and damage electronic circuit boards.

• Do not attempt to open the scale other than as instructed in this handbook.

• Do not drop, knock, or shake the scale. Rough

handling might break internal circuit boards and ne

mechanics.

• Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the scale.

• Do not paint the tester. Paint can clog the moving parts and prevent proper operation.

1. GETTING STARTED with your Presidium Carat Scale

Powering up your Presidium Carat Scale

This scale can be powered by either the use of an AC adaptor (optional item sold separately) or through the use of batteries. If AC adaptor is used, connect one end of the AC adaptor to the tester and the other end directly into a suitable electrical outlet (Fig 1.1). Please ensure that only the adaptor supplied by Presidium is used.

If batteries are used (4 x AAA batteries), take note of the positive (+) and negative (-) directions of batteries when inserting the batteries into the scale (Fig. 1.2). The use of alkaline batteries is preferred, as it should generally give approximately two and a half hours of continuous operation, while the use of ordinary batteries will give a shorter working life.

Turning on your Presidium Carat Scale

Place the scale on a at level surface. Lift the transparent

lid. Place the tray on the weighing arm, then close the lid

(Fig. 1.3).

All segments on the Display should blink three times (Fig. 1.5). for self-testing to ensure that the LCD is functioning properly.

Calibration

PCS-50LFT is calibrated according to the surface gravity of the location which is indicated on its packaging as well

as on the LCD window. Due to di󰀨erences in surface gravity,

for permanent usage in other cities, please send the unit back to the manufacturer for recalibration.

Recommended testing conditions

The recommended testing temperature is 18°C – 27°C or 65°F – 80°F.

In case of change of working environment or temperature change exceeding 5°C, allow the unit to set for 30 minutes before using.

Battery information

Stop using the unit when the low battery indicator is displayed to prevent inaccurate measurements.

Do not leave worn out batteries in the battery compartment as the batteries may corrode, leak or damage the scale. Batteries should be removed when the instrument is expected to be stored for an extended period of time.

To prevent inaccurate readings, replace with new batteries as soon as the low battery indicator lights up or starts to blink. A test should not be performed when the battery power is low or weak.

Batteries do not have to be removed when the AC adaptor is in use.

2. PERFORMING A TEST with your Presidium Carat Scale

Place the gemstone to be measured on the weighing tray (Fig.2.1). after the word “READY” appears. The result will be displayed immediately on the LCD. For accurate reading, take the reading only after the word “READY” appears.

“g/ct” to toggle between ‘gram’ or ‘carat’ or press “gr/ozt” to toggle between ‘grain’ or ‘ounce’.

Tips for using your Presidium Carat Scale

Keep the transparent lid closed when scale is in operation.

The [EEEEE] sign appears when the weighing range exceeds 50ct/10g weighing capacity.

It is advisable to take multiple readings if any doubt exists regarding the test results indicated.

3. TROUBLESHOOTING your Presidium Carat Scale

[CAL] does not stop blinking:

• The calibration weight was removed from the tray during calibration and calibration was terminated. The calibration process must be repeated.

[Error] sign appears during calibration:

• The calibration weight was placed onto the tray before the [CAL] started blinking.

[Err LO] sign appears during calibration:

• The calibration weight is below the standard weight (10g).

4. TAKING CARE of your Presidium Carat Scale

• For accuracy of reading, avoid shocks (such as dropping the instrument) or vibrations to the unit. Do not shake or cause impact to the unit.

• Do not attempt to dismantle the unit.

• Do not leave worn out batteries in the battery compartment as the batteries may corrode. Batteries should be removed when the instrument is expected to be stored for an extended period of time.

Your scale is a product of extensive design and craftsmanship and should be treated with care.

1. 开始使用 Presidium 克拉秤

为 Presidium 克拉秤供电

本克拉秤既可使用交流适配器供电（可单独选购的配件），也可使用电池供电。如果使用交流适配器，请将适配器的一端连接检测仪，另一端直接插入配套的电源插座中（图 1.1）。请确保仅使用由 Presidium 提供的适配器。

如果使用电池（4 节 AAA 电池），则在将电池放入克拉秤时应注意电池的正极 (+) 和负极 (-) 的方向（图 1.2）。推荐使用碱性电池，因为它一般可以保证约 2.5 个小时的持续工作时间，使用普通电池的话其工作时间更短。

启动 Presidium 克拉秤

将克拉秤摆放在平直的表面上。打开透明护盖。将托盘放在称重臂上，然后合上盖子（图 1.3)。

按 [ON/OFF] 按钮（图 1.4）以启动克拉秤。

屏幕上所有的显示单元应闪烁三次（图 1.5）进行自检，以确保 LCD 工作正常。

校准

PCS-50LFT 会根据某一位置的表面重力进行校准，该位置在仪器的包装和 LCD 窗口中均会指明。由于表面重力的差异性，如果在其它城市长期使用，请将仪器寄回工厂重新校准。

推荐的检测条件

推荐的检测温度为 18°C – 27°C 或 65°F – 80°F。

如果工作环境发生变化，或者温度波动超过 5°C，请让检测仪先静置 30 分钟，然后再使用。

电池信息

当检测仪显示电量低时，请停止使用检测仪，防止出现测量误差。

切勿将用完的电池留在电池匣内，因为电池电解液可能出现泄露，从而腐蚀或损坏克拉秤。如果预计要将仪器存放较长时间，应取出电池。

为防止读数误差，请在低电量指示灯亮起或开始闪烁时尽快更换新电池。当电池的电量低或微弱时，不应执行检测。

在使用交流适配器时不必取出电池。

2. 使用 Presidium 克拉秤执行检测

当屏幕上显示“READY”字样时，将待测量的宝石置于称重盘上（图 2.1）。结果将立即显示在 LCD 上。为了读数准确，请仅在显示“READY”字样后再开始读数。

要换算为不同的单位，请按下“g/ct”在“克”或“克拉”间切换；或者按下“gr/ozt”在“格令”或“盎司” 间切换。

关于使用 Presidium 克拉秤的提示

当克拉秤工作时请保持透明护盖处于关闭状态。

当称重范围超出 50 克拉/10 克的最大称重量时，屏幕上将显示 [EEEEE] 标志。

如果对显示的检测结果有任何疑问，建议用户获取多次检测读数。

3. 为 PRESIDIUM 克拉秤排除故障

[CAL] 一直闪烁：

• 在校准过程中，托盘上的校准重量被移走，导致校准被终止。必须重复执行校准过程。

[Error] 标志显示在校准过程中：

• 在 [CAL] 开始闪烁前即将校准重量置于托盘上。

[Err LO] 标志显示在校准过程中：

• 校准重量低于标准重量 (10g)。

4. 维护 Presidium 克拉秤

• 为保持读数准确，应避免冲击（例如仪器跌落）或振动检测仪。 [切勿摇晃或撞击检测仪。

• 切勿尝试拆卸检测仪。

• 切勿将用完的电池留在电池匣内，因为这种电池可能腐蚀仪器。如果预计要将仪器存放较长时间，应取出电池。

III. AVIS IMPORTANT

• S’assurer que le testeur est sec. Les précipitations et tous les types de liquides ou l’humidité peuvent contenir des minéraux susceptibles de détériorer les circuits électroniques. Si votre testeur est humide, retirez les piles et laissez l’appareil sécher complètement avant de le remettre en place.

• Ne pas utiliser, ranger ou laisser la balance dans des endroits poussiéreux et sales. Ses pièces et ses composants électroniques peuvent être endommagés.

• Ne pas utiliser, ranger ou exposer la balance dans des locaux très chauds. Des températures élevées peuvent endommager ou réduire la vie du testeur, endommager les piles et déformer ou faire fondre certains plastiques.

• Ne pas utiliser, stocker ou exposer la balance dans des endroits froids. Lorsque le testeur reprend sa température normale, l’humidité peut se former à l’intérieur du testeur et endommager les circuits électroniques.

• Ne tentez pas d’ouvrir la balance autrement que de la façon indiquée dans ce manuel.

• Vous ne devez ni la laisser tomber, ni la cogner, ni la secouer. Une manipulation brutale pourrait endommager les circuits internes et les petites pièces mécaniques.

• Ne pas utiliser de produits chimiques décapants, de solvants de nettoyage ou de détergents puissants pour nettoyer la balance.

• Ne peignez pas le testeur. La peinture peut bloquer les pièces mobiles et empêcher le bon fonctionnement de la balance.

1. PREMIERE UTILISATION de votre balance à carats Presidium

Mise sous tension de votre balance à carats Presidium

Cette balance peut être alimentée en utilisant un adaptateur secteur (vendu séparément, en option) ou des piles. Si l’adaptateur secteur est utilisé, branchez une extrémité de l’adaptateur AC au testeur et l’autre extrémité directement dans une prise électrique appropriée (Fig 1.1). Veillez à n’utiliser que l’adaptateur fourni par Presidium.

Si vous utilisez des piles (4 piles AAA), veillez à insérer les piles dans la balance en respectant les repères positifs (+) et négatifs (-) (Fig. 1.2). Il est préférable d’utiliser des piles alcalines, puisque cela assure généralement deux heures et demies de fonctionnement continu, alors que l’utilisation de piles ordinaires en raccourcira la durée.

Mise en route de votre balance Presidium

Placez la balance sur une surface plane. Soulevez le couvercle transparent. Placez le plateau sur le bras de pesée, puis fermez le couvercle (Fig. 1.3).

Appuyez sur la touche [MARCHE/ARRÊT] (Fig.1.4) pour allumer la balance.

Tous les segments sur l’écran doivent clignoter trois fois

(Fig. 1.5) pour que le testeur automatique vérie que

l’écran LCD fonctionne correctement.

ÉTALONNAGE

PCS-50LFT est calibrée en fonction de la gravitation de la surface de l’emplacement qui est indiquée sur son emballage, ainsi que sur l’écran LCD. En raison des

di󰀨érences dans la gravitation de surface, lors d’une

utilisation permanente dans d’autres villes, veuillez envoyer l’appareil au fabricant pour le recalibrage.

Conditions de fonctionnement recommandées

La température de fonctionnement recommandée est de 18°C - 27°C ou de 65°F - 80°F.

En cas de changement d’environnement de travail ou d’un changement de température supérieur à 5°C, laissez reposer l’appareil pendant au moins 30 minutes avant de l’utiliser.

Informations sur les piles

Cessez d’utiliser l’appareil lorsque le voyant signalant

que les piles sont faibles est a󰀩ché, an d’éviter des

erreurs de mesure.

Ne laissez pas de piles usagées dans le compartiment à piles car les piles peuvent se corroder, fuir ou endommager la balance. Les piles devraient être enlevées lorsque l’instrument va être rangé et inutilisé pendant une longue période.

Pour éviter des lectures erronées, remplacez les piles dès que le voyant de piles faibles s’allume ou commence

à clignoter. Un test ne doit pas être e󰀨ectué lorsque les

piles sont peu chargées ou faibles.

Les piles ne doivent pas être enlevées lorsque l’adaptateur secteur est en cours d’utilisation.

2. REALISER UN TEST avec votre balance à carats Presidium

Placez la pierre à mesurer sur le plateau de pesée (Fig.2.1) après l’apparition du mot «READY ». Le résultat s’a󰀩che immédiatement sur l’écran LCD. Pour une lecture précise, ne relever la lecture qu’après l’apparition du mot « READY »

Pour la conversion entre des unités de mesure

di󰀨érentes, appuyez sur “g/ct” pour basculer entre

«gramme» ou «carat» ou appuyez sur “gr/ozt” pour basculer entre «grain» ou «once».

Conseils d’utilisation de votre balance à carats Presidium

Gardez le couvercle transparent fermé lorsque la balance fonctionne.

Le signe [EEEEE] apparaît lorsque la plage de pesée dépasse 50ct/10g de capacité de pesage.

Il est conseillé de relever plusieurs lectures s’il y a un

doute sur le résultat des tests qui s’a󰀩chent.

3. PROBLEMES avec votre balance à carats Presidium

[CAL] n’arrête pas de clignoter :

• Le poids d’étalonnage a été retiré du plateau lors de l’étalonnage et l’étalonnage s’est arrêté. Le processus d’étalonnage doit être répété.

La mention [Error] apparaît lors de l’étalonnage :

II. Informationen zu Ihrer Presidium Karatwaage

Die Presidium Karatwaage verwendet eine Wägezelle mit Dehnmessstreifen, die ein Ausgangssignal im Millivoltbereich erzeugt, das dann von einem Microcontroller in der Waage in ein Gewicht umgewandelt wird.

Die Presidium Karatwaage PCS-50/PCS-50LFT hat folgende technischen Merkmale:

• Vier Konvertierungsoptionen (Gramm, Karat, Unze, Grain)

• Drei Ablagen für unterschiedliche Zwecke

III. WICHTIGER HINWEIS

• Das Messgerät trocken halten. Niederschlag, Flüssigkeiten oder Feuchtigkeit können Mineralien enthalten, die auf elektrische Schaltkreise korrodierend wirken. Falls das Messgerät nass wird, entfernen Sie die Batterie und lassen Sie den Tester vor einer weiteren Verwendung vollständig trocknen.

• Die Waage nicht in staubiger oder verschmutzter Umgebung lagern oder betreiben. Die laufenden Teile und elektronischen Bauelemente könnten beschädigt werden.

• Die Waage nicht bei Hitze lagern oder betreiben. Hohe Temperaturen können die Lebensdauer des Messgerätes verkürzen oder das Gerät bzw. dessen Batterien beschädigen – zusätzlich können bestimmte Plastikteile des Gerätes sich verziehen oder schmelzen.

• Die Waage nicht bei Kälte lagern oder betreiben. Bei der anschließenden Erwärmung auf die Normaltemperatur kann sich im Inneren des Messgerätes Feuchtigkeit niederschlagen und die elektronischen Bauteile beschädigen.

• Nicht versuchen, die Waage auf andere Weise als in

der Anleitung beschrieben zu ö󰀨nen.

• Nicht fallen lassen, stoßen oder schütteln. Rauer Umgang kann zu Brüchen interner Schaltkreise und der Feinmechanik führen.

• Keine aggressiven Chemikalien, scharfe Reinigungsmittel oder Lösungsmittel zum Reinigen der Waage verwenden.

• Das Messgerät nicht lackieren oder bemalen. Lack oder Farbe kann die beweglichen Teile verkleben und den einwandfreien Betrieb verhindern.

1. ERSTE SCHRITTE mit der Presidium Karatwaage

Karatwaage

Diese Waage kann mithilfe eines Netzteils (separat erhältlicher Artikel) betrieben werden oder über Batterien. Bei Verwendung eines Netzteils verbinden Sie das eine Kabel mit dem Tester und schließen Sie das Netzkabel des Netzteils an eine Steckdose an (Abb. 1.1). Bitte achten Sie darauf, dass nur der von Presidium gelieferte Adapter verwendet wird.

Achten Sie bei Batteriebetrieb (4 x Typ AAA) beim Einsetzen auf die richtige Polung (+) und (-) (Abb. 1.2). Der Einsatz von Alkalibatterien wird empfohlen – dadurch ergibt sich im Gegensatz zu herkömmlichen Batterien mit geringerer Kapazität eine kontinuierliche Laufzeit von etwa 2,5 Stunden.

Alle Display-Segmente sollten während des nun ausgeführten Selbsttests dreimal blinken (Abb. 1.5) – dadurch wird die Funktionsfähigkeit der LCD-Anzeige signalisiert.

Kalibrierung

PCS-50LFT wird auf die Oberflächenschwere an dem Ort kalibriert, der auf der Verpackung und auf dem LCD-Fenster angegeben ist. Aufgrund von Abweichungen der Oberflächenschwere senden Sie das Gerät zur Rekalibrierung an den Hersteller zurück, wenn es dauerhaft in anderen Städten betrieben werden soll.

Empfohlene Testbedingungen

Die empfohlene Testtemperatur ist 18°C – 27°C bzw. 65°F – 80°F.

Warten Sie nach einem Wechsel der Arbeitsumgebung oder nach einer Temperaturänderung von mehr als 5°C vor Gebrauch ca. 30 Minuten, damit sich das Gerät anpassen kann.

Hinweise zum Batteriebetrieb

Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht weiter, wenn ein niedriger Batteriestand angezeigt wird, um ungenaue Messungen zu vermeiden.

Entnehmen Sie verbrauchte Batterien aus dem Batteriefach, da Batterien korrodieren oder auslaufen und die Waage beschädigen können. Entnehmen Sie die Batterien auch, wenn das Instrument voraussichtlich für einen längeren Zeitraum nicht verwendet wird.

Um ungenaue Messungen zu vermeiden, sollten neue Batterien eingesetzt werden, sobald die Batteriestandsanzeige

aueuchtet oder zu blinken beginnt. Bei niedrigem bzw.

schwachem Batteriestrom sollten keine Messungen durchgeführt werden.

Während des Netzbetrieb müssen die Batterien nicht entfernt werden.

2. DURCHFÜHREN EINES MESSVORGANGS mit der Presidium Karatwaage

Legen Sie den zu wiegenden Edelstein auf den Wiegearm (Abb. 2.1), nachdem das Wort „READY“ angezeigt wird. Das Messergebnis wird sofort im LCD angezeigt. Achten Sie für genaue Messungen unbedingt darauf, die Messung erst nach Erscheinen des Wortes „READY“ durchzuführen.

Drücken Sie zur Umwandlung zwischen verschiedenen Maßeinheiten die Taste „g/ct“, um in Gramm oder Karat umzuwandeln, bzw. die Taste „gr/ozt“, um zwischen Grain oder Unze umzuwandeln.

Tipps zum Gebrauch Ihrer Presidium Karatwaage

Die transparente Abdeckung während des Messvorgangs geschlossen halten.

Das Symbol [EEEEE] wird angezeigt, wenn die Wiegekapazität von 50 Kt / 10 g überschritten wird.

Es ist empfehlenswert, bei jeglichen Zweifeln bezüglich des erhaltenen Messergebnisses eine Zweitmessung vorzunehmen.

3. FEHLERBEHEBUNG bei der Presidium Karatwaage

[CAL] hört nicht auf zu blinken:

• Das Kalibrierungsgewicht wurde während des Kalibrierens von der Ablage entfernt und der Kalibrierungsvorgang wurde abgebrochen. Der Kalibrierungsvorgang muss wiederholt werden.

[Error] wird während des Kalibrierungsvorgangs angezeigt:

• Das Kalibrierungsgewicht wurde auf die Ablage

gelegt, bevor [CAL] anng zu blinken.

[Err LO] wird während des Kalibrierungsvorgangs angezeigt:

• Das Kalibrierungsgewicht ist leichter als das Standardgewicht (20 g).

4. WARTUNG UND PFLEGE der Presidium Karatwaage

• Vermeiden Sie im Interesse der Ablesegenauigkeit Stöße (beispielsweise durch Fallenlassen des Instruments) oder Vibrationen des Geräts. [Das Gerät nicht schütteln oder Stößen aussetzen.]

• Das Gerät nicht zerlegen.

• Keine verbrauchten Batterien im Batteriefach lassen, da die Batterien korrodieren könnten. Entnehmen Sie die Batterien auch, wenn das Instrument voraussichtlich für einen längeren Zeitraum nicht verwendet wird.

Die Waage ist ein Präzisionsprodukt und sollte sorgfältig behandelt werden.

II. Informazioni sulla bilancia per carati Presidium

La bilancia per carati Presidium utilizza una cella di carico con estensimetro per fornire risultati in millivolt che vengono successivamente convertiti in peso da un microcontrollore all’interno della bilancia.

La bilancia per carati Presidium (PCS-50/PCS-50LFT) è dotata di:

III. AVVISO IMPORTANTE

• Tenere all’asciutto il tester. La precipitazione e tutti i tipi di liquidi o condensa possono contenere minerali in grado di corrodere i circuiti elettrici. In caso di penetrazione di liquidi all’interno del tester, rimuovere la batteria e lasciare asciugare completamente il tester prima di reinserirla.

• Non utilizzare, conservare o esporre la bilancia ad/in aree ricche di polvere e detriti. Le parti semovibili e i componenti elettronici potrebbero restare danneggiati.

• Non utilizzare, conservare o esporre la bilancia ad/in aree con temperature elevate. Le temperature elevate possono danneggiare il tester o accorciarne la vita, danneggiare le batterie e deformare o fondere determinati tipi di plastica.

• Non utilizzare, conservare o esporre la bilancia ad/in aree con temperature ridotte. Quando la temperatura all’interno del tester ritorna alla normalità, è possibile

che si verichi la formazione di condensa all’interno

del tester, danneggiando i circuiti elettronici.

• Non tentare di aprire la bilancia seguendo una procedura diversa da quella illustrata all’interno di questa guida.

• Evitare di far cadere, sottoporre a urti o scuotere la bilancia. Il maneggiamento incauto potrebbe provocare la rottura dei circuiti interni e dei meccanismi di precisione.

• Non utilizzare prodotti chimici corrosivi, solventi detergenti o detergenti aggressivi per pulire la bilancia.

• Non verniciare il tester. La vernice potrebbe ostruire le parti semovibili e impedire il corretto funzionamento.

1. OPERAZIONI PRELIMINARI con la bilancia per carati Presidium

Alimentazione della bilancia per carati Presidium

Questa bilancia può essere alimentata per mezzo di un adattatore CA (articolo opzionale venduto separatamente) o tramite le batterie. Se si utilizza l’adattatore CA, collegare un’estremità dell’adattatore CA al tester e l’altra estremità direttamente ad una presa elettrica idonea (Fig. 1.1). Utilizzare esclusivamente l’adattatore fornito da Presidium.

Se si utilizzano le batterie (4 batterie AAA), fare attenzione alla posizione del polo positivo (+) e negativo (-) quando si inseriscono le batterie all’interno della bilancia (Fig. 1.2). È consigliabile utilizzare batterie alcaline, dal momento che le batterie di questo tipo forniscono solitamente due ore e mezza di autonomia

continua, mentre le batterie normali o󰀨rono un’autonomia

più ridotta.

Posizionare la bilancia su una supercie piana e

regolare. Sollevare il coperchio trasparente. Collocare il vassoio sul braccio di pesatura, quindi chiudere il coperchio (Fig. 1.3).

Taratura

La taratura della bilancia PCS-50LFT viene eseguita

in base alla gravità di supercie dell’area indicata sulla confezione e sul display LCD. A causa delle di󰀨erenze di gravità di supercie, in caso di utilizzo continuativo in altre città rispedire l’unità al produttore a󰀩nché venga

nuovamente sottoposta a taratura.

Condizioni di test consigliate

Si consiglia di eseguire il test a una temperatura compresa tra 18 °C e 27 °C o 65 °F e 80 °F.

In caso di trasferimento in un’altra area di lavoro o variazione della temperatura superiore a 5 °C, attendere trenta minuti prima di utilizzare l’unità.

Informazioni sulla batteria

Smettere di usare l’unità in seguito alla visualizzazione dell’indicatore di batteria in esaurimento per evitare l’ottenimento di misurazioni inaccurate.

Non lasciare le batterie esaurite nel vano delle batterie dal momento che potrebbero corrodersi, perdere o danneggiare la bilancia. Rimuovere le batterie quando si prevede di riporre lo strumento per un periodo di tempo prolungato.

Per evitare di ottenere letture inaccurate, sostituire le batterie non appena l’indicatore di batteria in esaurimento si accende o inizia a lampeggiare. Evitare di svolgere un test quando le batterie hanno un livello di carica ridotto o prossimo all’esaurimento.

Quando si utilizza l’adattatore CA non è necessario rimuovere le batterie.

2. SVOLGIMENTO DI UN TEST con la bilancia per carati Presidium

Collocare la gemma grezza da misurare sul vassoio di pesatura (Fig. 2.1) in seguito alla visualizzazione del messaggio “READY” sul display. Il risultato verrà visualizzato immediatamente sull’LCD. Per una lettura accurata, procedere alla misurazione solo dopo la visualizzazione del messaggio “READY”

Per eseguire la conversione tra varie unità di misura, premere “g/ct” per passare dal ‘grammo’ al ‘carato’ o premere “gr/ozt” per passare dal ‘grano’ all’‘oncia’.

Suggerimenti per l’uso della bilancia per carati Presidium

Tenere chiuso il coperchio trasparente durante la pesatura.

Il display visualizza il messaggio [EEEEE] quando l’intervallo di pesatura supera la portata di 50 ct/10 g.

È consigliabile ripetere la misurazione in caso di dubbi in merito ai risultati del test ottenuti.

3. GUIDA ALLA RISOLUZIONE DEI PROBLEMI della bilancia per carati Presidium

[CAL] continua a lampeggiare:

• Il peso di taratura è stato rimosso dal vassoio durante la taratura e la taratura è stata interrotta. È necessario ripetere il processo di taratura.

Durante la taratura viene visualizzato il messaggio [Error]:

• Il peso di taratura è stato collocato sul vassoio prima che il messaggio [CAL] cominciasse a lampeggiare.

Durante la taratura viene visualizzato il messaggio [Err LO]:

• Il peso di taratura ha un peso inferiore al valore standard (10 g).

4. MANUTENZIONE della bilancia per carati Presidium

• Per ottenere letture accurate, evitare di sottoporre l’ unità a urti (come far cadere lo strumento) o vibrazioni. Non scuotere o sottoporre a urti l’unità.

• Non tentare di smontare l’unità.

• Non lasciare le batterie esaurite nel vano delle batterie dal momento che potrebbero corrodersi. Rimuovere le batterie quando si prevede di riporre lo strumento per un periodo di tempo prolungato.

La bilancia è frutto di accurata progettazione e scrupolosa realizzazione e deve essere maneggiata con cautela.

II. Весы Presidium Carat Scale

В состав конструкции весов Presidium Carat Scale входит тензометрический датчик для получения на выходе значения давления в милливольтах, которое затем преобразуется в вес микроконтроллером, расположенным внутри весов.

• Храните контрольно-измерительный прибор в сухом месте. Атмосферные осадки и все типы жидкости или влага могут содержать минералы, которые способствуют коррозии электронных схем. Если на прибор попала вода, то выньте из него аккумулятор. После того, как прибор тщательно просушили, заново вставьте аккумулятор.

• Запрещается использовать, хранить или устанавливать весы в пыльных и грязных местах. Подвижные детали и электронные компоненты могут быть повреждены.

• Запрещается использовать, хранить или устанавливать весы в жарких помещениях. Высокая температура может повредить или сократить срок службы контрольно-измерительного прибора, испортить аккумулятор и деформировать или расплавить некоторые пластмассовые детали.

• Запрещается использовать, хранить или устанавливать весы в холодных помещениях. При нагревании контрольно-измерительного прибора до нормальной температуры внутри прибора может конденсироваться влага. Это может повредить электронные платы.

• Открывайте крышку весов только таким способом, который указан в руководстве.

• Запрещается ронять, ударять о поверхность или трясти весы. Грубое обращение с прибором может привести к поломке внутренних микросхем и точной механики.

• Запрещается использовать агрессивные химические вещества, растворители или сильнодействующие моющие средства для очистки весов.

• Запрещается красить контрольно-измерительный прибор. Краска может блокировать подвижные детали и препятствовать правильному функционированию прибора.

1. ПОРЯДОК РАБОТЫ, весы Presidium Carat Scale

Подключение весов Presidium Carat Scale к источнику питания

Данные весы могут работать как от сетевого адаптера (дополнительный блок, который продается отдельно), так и от аккумулятора. В случае использования сетевого адаптера подсоедините штекер адаптера к разъему на весах, а вилку шнура питания вставьте в подходящую розетку электрической сети (Рис. 1.1). Убедитесь в том, что используется только сетевой адаптер, который поставлен компанией Presidium.

В случае использования аккумуляторных батареек (4 аккумуляторные батарейки типа «AAA») обратите внимание на положительный значок (+) и отрицательный значок (-) при размещении батареек в батарейном отсеке весов (Рис. 1.2.). Рекомендуется использовать щелочные батарейки, поскольку они обеспечивают непрерывную эксплуатацию весов на протяжении около двух с половиной часов. Если используются обычные батарейки, то весы работают непродолжительное время.

Установите весы на ровную поверхность. Откройте прозрачную крышку. Поместите лоток на весовой рычаг, затем закройте крышку. (Рис. 1.3).

Нажмите кнопку [ON/OFF] («ВКЛ./ОТКЛ.») (Рис.1.4), чтобы включить весы.

Все сегменты на Дисплее должны мигать по три раза (Рис. 1.5) для самотестирования. Это подтверждает то, что ЖК-дисплей функционирует надлежащим образом.

Калибровка

Калибровка весов PCS-50LFT производиться в соответствии с тяготением на поверхности места, которое указанно на упаковке, а также на ЖК-экране. Поскольку каждое место имеет разную величину тяготения на поверхности, то для постоянного использования в других городах отправьте прибор обратно на завод-изготовитель для повторной калибровки.

Рекомендуемые условия для поверки

Рекомендуемая температура для поверки - 18°C – 27°C или 65°F – 80°F.

В случае изменения производственных условий или изменения температуры на 5°C выдержите прибор во включенном состоянии в течение 30 минут перед его использованием.

Информация по эксплуатации аккумулятора

Не эксплуатируйте прибор, если на экране высветилась индикация разрядки аккумулятора. Это позволит избежать получения неточного измерения.

Не оставляйте использованные батарейки в батарейном отсеке, поскольку они могут коррозировать, потечь или нанести ущерб весам. Аккумулятор необходимо вынуть, если предполагается, что прибор будет храниться на протяжении длительного периода времени.

Вставьте новые аккумуляторные батарейки, как только на дисплее загорится или начнет мигать индикатор разрядки аккумулятора. Это предотвратит получение неточных показаний прибора. При слабости или недостаточной емкости аккумуляторных батареек нельзя проводить поверку.

Если используется сетевой адаптер, аккумуляторные батарейки могут оставаться внутри прибора.

2. ВЗВЕШИВАНИЕ, весы Presidium Carat Scale

Поместите драгоценный камень, вес которого необходимо измерить, на лоток весов (Рис. 2.1) после того, как на экране высветиться слово «READY» («ГОТОВО»). На ЖК-экране сразу появится результат взвешивания. Для получения правильного показания снимите показания только после высвечивания на дисплее слова «READY» («ГОТОВО»)

Для преобразования единиц измерения нажмите кнопку «g/ct» («ГРАММ/КАРАТ») для преобразования «грамм» в «карат» и наоборот или нажмите кнопку «gr/ozt» («ГРАН/УНЦИЯ») для преобразование «гран» в «унции» и наоборот.

Советы по использованию весов Presidium Carat

Scale

При эксплуатации весов прозрачная крышка должна быть закрытой.

Символ [EEEEE] появиться на дисплее, если значения диапазона взвешивания превысят предельные значения 50 карат/10 г.

Рекомендуется снять несколько показаний, если возникли сомнения по поводу полученных результатов взвешивания.

3. НАХОЖДЕНИЕ И УСТРАНЕНИЕ НЕИСПРАВНОСТЕЙ, весы Presidium Carat Scale

Символ [CAL] не перестает мигать:

• Во время калибровки был снят калибровочный вес и процесс калибровки был прерван. Необходимо заново повторить калибровку.

Символ [Error] появился во время калибровки:

• Калибровочный вес был помещен на лоток до того, как символ [CAL] стал мигать.

Символ [Err LO] появился во время калибровки:

• Калибровочный вес легче, чем стандартный вес (10 г).

4. Тех. обслуживание весов Presidium Carat Scale

• Для получения точных показаний избегайте ударов по прибору (например, падение прибора) или вибраций прибора. [Запрещается трясти или ударять прибор].

• Запрещается самостоятельно разбирать прибор.

• Не оставляйте разряженные аккумуляторные батарейки в отсеке, поскольку они могут покрыться слоем ржавчины. Аккумулятор необходимо вынуть, если предполагается, что прибор будет храниться на протяжении длительного периода времени.

II. Acerca de la balanza de quilates Presidium

La balanza de quilates Presidium utiliza una celda de carga de galga extensiométrica para proporcionar el resultado en términos de milivoltios, que después se convierten a peso gracias a un microcontrolador dentro de la balanza.

III. AVISO IMPORTANTE

• Mantenga seco el probador. La precipitación y todos los tipos de líquidos o humedad pueden contener minerales que generen corrosión en los circuitos eléctricos. Si su probador se moja, extraiga la pila y permita que el probador se seque completamente antes de volver a colocarla.

• No utilice, almacene ni exponga la balanza a áreas sucias o con abundante polvo. Sus piezas móviles y los componentes electrónicos pueden dañarse.

• No utilice, almacene ni exponga la balanza a áreas calientes. Las altas temperaturas pueden dañar o acortar la vida útil del probador, dañar las pilas y deformar o derretir ciertos plásticos.

• No utilice, almacene ni exponga la balanza a áreas frías. Cuando el probador vuelve a su temperatura normal, se puede formar humedad dentro del mismo y dañar las placas de circuito electrónico.

• No intente abrir la balanza de una manera que no sea la que se indica en este manual.

• No deje caer, golpee o sacuda la balanza. La manipulación brusca puede romper las placas de

circuito interno y los mecanismos nos.

• No utilice químicos fuertes, solventes de limpieza ni detergentes fuertes para limpiar la balanza.

• No pinte el probador. La pintura puede obstruir las piezas móviles y evitar un funcionamiento correcto.

1. PRIMEROS PASOS con su balanza de quilates Presidium

Alimentación de la balanza de quilates Presidium

Esta balanza puede alimentarse con un adaptador de CA (artículo opcional que se vende por separado) o con pila. Si se utiliza un adaptador de CA, conecte un extremo del adaptador de CA al probador y el otro extremo directamente en una toma de corriente eléctrica adecuada (Fig 1.1). Asegúrese de utilizar solo el adaptador proporcionado por Presidium.

Si se utilizan pilas (4 pilas AAA), tenga en cuenta las direcciones positivas (+) y negativas (-) de las pilas al insertarlas en la balanza (Fig. 1.2). Se preere el uso de pilas alcalinas, ya que generalmente brindan aproximadamente dos horas y media de uso continuo, mientras que el uso de pilas normales proporciona una vida de trabajo más corta.

Coloque la balanza en una supercie nivelada. Eleve la

tapa transparente. Coloque la bandeja en el brazo de pesado y después cierre la tapa (Fig. 1.3).

tres veces (Fig. 1.5) durante el autodiagnóstico para garantizar que el LCD funciona correctamente.

Calibración

La PCS-50LFT está calibrada según la gravedad supercial

de la ubicación que se indica en su envase, así como en la ventana LCD. Debido a diferencias en la gravedad

supercial, para su uso permanente en otras ciudades,

envíe la unidad nuevamente al fabricante para una recalibración.

Condiciones recomendadas de prueba

La temperatura de prueba recomendada es de 18°C – 27°C o 65 °F – 80 °F.

En caso de cambio de entorno de trabajo o cambio de temperatura que exceda 5 °C, permita que la unidad esté en espera durante 30 minutos antes de utilizar.

Información de las pilas

Deje de utilizar la unidad cuando el indicador de pila baja se muestre para evitar medidas imprecisas.

No deje pilas gastadas dentro del compartimiento para pilas, ya que estas pueden corroerse, tener fugas o dañar la balanza. Las pilas deberán retirarse cuando el instrumento se vaya a almacenar durante un período extendido.

Para evitar lecturas imprecisas, coloque pilas nuevas ni bien el indicador de pilas bajas se encienda o comience a parpadear. No se deberá llevar a cabo una prueba cuando la potencia de la pila es baja o débil.

Las pilas no tienen que extraerse al utilizar el adaptador de CA.

2. REALIZAR UNA PRUEBA con la balanza de quilates Presidium

Coloque la piedra preciosa que se medirá en la bandeja de pesado (Fig.2.1) después de que aparezca la palabra “READY” (listo). El resultado se mostrará inmediatamente en el LCD. Para una lectura precisa, tome la lectura solo una vez que haya aparecido la palabra “READY”

Para conversión entre diferentes unidades de medida, pulse “g/ct” para intercambiar entre “gramo” y “quilate” o pulse “gr/ozt” para intercambiar entre “grano” y “onza”.

Consejos para utilizar la balanza de quilates Presidium

Mantenga la tapa transparente cerrada cuando la balanza esté en funcionamiento.

El signo [EEEEE] aparece cuando el rango de peso excede los 50 ct/10 g de capacidad de pesado.

Es aconsejable tomar múltiples lecturas si existen dudas acerca de los resultados de la prueba indicados.

3. SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS de la balanza de quilates Presidium

[CAL] no deja de parpadear:

• El peso de calibración se retiró de la bandeja durante

la calibración y ésta nalizó. El proceso de

calibración debe repetirse.

El signo [Error] aparece durante la calibración:

• El peso de calibración se colocó en la bandeja antes de que [CAL] comenzara a parpadear.

El signo [Err LO] aparece durante la calibración:

• El peso de calibración se encuentra debajo del peso estándar (10 g).

4. CUIDADO de la balanza de quilates Presidium

• Para precisión de la lectura, evite golpes (como dejar caer el instrumento) o vibraciones de la unidad. No sacuda ni genere impactos en la unidad.

• No intente desarmar la unidad.

• No deje pilas gastadas dentro del compartimiento para pilas, ya que estas pueden corroerse. Las pilas deberán retirarse cuando el instrumento se vaya a almacenar durante un período extendido.

La balanza es un producto de diseño y fabricación de envergadura, y debería tratarse con cuidado.
