EFX Assembly Guide
Follow the steps in the order listed in this assembly guide. For more product information, visit us at www.precor.com.
WARNING
At least two people are required to assemble the equipment. DO NOT
attempt assembly by yourself.
Assembly requirements
Important Before you fully tighten a fastener, check that its head is flush with the surface of the equipment. If not, cross-threading may have occurred. DO NOT attempt to rework the assembly as more damage to the equipment will occur. Instead, contact Customer Support at www. precor.com
We recommend you:
Assemble the equipment close to where you plan to use it.
Assemble the equipment on a solid, flat surface, so that it remains level and
stable.
Locate the equipment at least 19.7 inches (0.5 meter) away from walls or
furniture on either side of the equipment, and 19.7 inches (0.5 meter) away from objects behind or in front of the equipment.
DO NOT move the equipment without assistance.

Begin Assembly
WARNING
DO NOT attempt to connect electrical power until all assembly procedures are complete and console is properly installed.
DO NOT fully tighten the fasteners until instructed to do so.
To begin assembly:
1. Remove the two bolts, two flat washers, and two nuts from the ramp and set them aside.
2. Slide the console frame into the ramp and base frame.
Important DO NOT pinch or crush the cable during assembly.
3. Attach the console frame to base frame using two bolts
. Hand tighten the bolts.

4. Secure the console frame to the ramp using two bolts from the top and two lock nuts.

5. Have your assistant pull the console frame forward while you tighten the ramp bolts using one wrench on the bottom nut and one on the top bolt.
Tighten to 204 in-lb of torque.
Important DO NOT skip this step. It is required to ensure proper assembly.

6. Fully tighten the base frame bolts.
7. Using a fish tape, pull the power cable from the ramp, up through the console frame, and out the top.

To attach the moving arms:
1. Slide the moving arm into the arm frame and attach the arm using a dog head bolt
and fully tighten using a 3/16 hex wrench.
Note The arms are labeled Left and Right.

2. Fit an inner link cover onto the link arm.

3. Screw the link arm into the base of the moving arm.
4. Screw the link arm into the base of the moving arm (the bolt shops installed in the link arm assembly).
5. Fit the outer Link cover onto the link arm and attach it using a Phillips he
ad screw
.

6. Perform these steps to attach the other arm.
Note If you are going to mount a PVS or networked console, route those cable through the frame at this time.

Attach the covers
The EFX ships with the following cover parts: Two side covers, one front cover, and two cover retention brackets.
Attaching the plastic covers:
1. Insert seven plastic grommets into the frame in following locations:

ttach the base cover by fitting its plastic tab into the base frame, then slide the
cover forward and downward to snap it into place.

3. Attach the base cover using two screws

4. Attach the front of the base plastic using two screws

There are latches on the plastic covers that must be engaged to ensure a good fit. Review the follow procedure before starting the cover assembly.
To attach the side covers:
1. Position one of the side covers against the console frame with its ramp latch setting on top of the ramp and its wing edge fitted into the arm as shown below.
Important Flex the plastic to fit it against the frame. DO NOT pinch or crush the cable during assembly.

2. Position the second side cover against the console frame.
3. Identify where the covers join on the bottom and press upward to snap the internal latch together.

4. Press the top of the covers together to engage the top internal latch.

5. Snap a pivot bracket onto the boss of each side cover and then attach eac

racket using two screws

Note The bracket should fit tightly against the assembly.

To complete the cover assembly:
1. Secure each side cover using one screw .

2. Position the display front cover so that the two internal hooks are engaged with the inside bottom of the side covers.

3. Using both hands, pull the front cover forward to snap it into place.

4. Press the front cover upward to close the gap between the covers and secure it using two screws
.
Note If the clip nuts
are missing from your front cover, use the extra
clip nuts included in your hardware kit.

5. Position the top cover so that the two top latches fit into the top of the side covers. Rotate it downward into place.

6. Secure it using one screw
.

shipped with your console.
