ROUTINE CARE/CLEANING
If the mat is not heavily or visibly soiled, you may not need to launder the mat. Always follow hospital protocol for cleaning mattresses.
To wipe down the mat with disinfectant between patient uses, follow these steps:
1. Place the mat on a clean, at surface or hang it from the wall.
2. Apply disinfectant solution by spray, solution or pre-soaked wipes.
3. Make sure that you disinfect all mat surfaces. Pay particular attention to the high contact areas, such as the pull handles and patient safety straps.
4. Follow disinfectant’s instructions for appropriate contact time and rinsing requirements.
5. Allow the mat to dry before returning to use.
Note: Reference your PPS Glide Operations manual for a listing of recommended disinfectants.

MACHINE WASHING
Step One: Laundering the PPS Glide mat
For best results, make sure that both of the patient centering straps are buckled and that the hose
connection points (Velcro® aps at the foot end) are closed.
1. Place the mat in the washing machine.
2. Set the temperature setting to ensure that the water temperature does not exceed 150°F. Note: Washing machines vary, so you must determine the water temperature produced by your
specic washer at each setting.
3. Allow the washer to begin lling with water.
4. Add a neutral detergent (or bleach solution no greater than 1:10 bleach to water dilution).
5. Close the washer lid/door.
6. Allow the washer to complete its entire wash cycle before removing the mat.
