Safety Instructions
Caution:
When using power tools, attention must be paid to the following basic safety measures as protection against electric shocks and against the risk if injuries and burns. Read and observe these instructions before you use the device.
1.
Keep your working area tidy. Disorder in the working area increases the risk of accidents.
2. Be aware of surroundings. Never expose power tools to rain or moisture and do not use power tools in moist or wet environments. Ensure that there is good lighting. Do not use power tools in the vicinity of combustible liquids or gases.
3. Protect yourself from electric shock. Avoid bodily contact with grounded parts. e.g. pipes, radiators, stoves or refrigerators.
4. Keep power tools away from children. Do not let other people touch the tool or the cord and keep the people away from your working area.
5. Store your tools in a safe place. Unused tools should be stored in a dry, locked room where children can not reach them.
6. Do not overload your tool. You will work better and more safety in the specified performance range.
7. Use the correct tool. Do not use any tools or attachments, which are too weak for heavy work. Do not use tools for purpose and work for which they are not intended.
8. Wear appropriate working clothes. Do not wear any loose clothing or jewelry (they could get caught up in moving parts). For outdoor work, it is recommended that you wear rubber gloves and non-slip footwear. If you have long hair, wear a hair net.
9. Use safety glasses. Furthermore, use a dusk mask or respirator when performing any work that generates dust.
10. Do not use the cord for inappropriate purposes. Do not carry the tool
by the cord and do not use the cord in order to pull the plug out of the socket. Protect the cord from heat, oil and sharp edges.
11. Secure the workpiece. Use clamping devices or a vice in order to hold
the workpiece in a secure position. It is much safer than holding it by hand and allows you to use both hands to operate the tool.
12. Do not overreach. Avoid any abnormal postures. Ensure that you are
standing securely and keep your balance at all times.
13. Look after your tools with care. Keep your tools ready for operation
(e.g. sharp) and clean in order to work well and safely. Follow the maintenance regulations and the instructions for tool changes. Check the plug and the cable regularly and, if these are damaged, have them replaced by a recognized electrical specialist. Always keep handles dry and free from oil and grease.
14. Unplug the tool when not in use, prior to maintenance and during the
tool change. (e.g. saw blade, drill bit and machine tools of all kinds.)
15. Do not leave any tools keys inserted. Before switching on, check that
keys and setting tools have been removed.
16. Avoid any unintentional operation/starting-up of the device. Do not
place your finger on the switch when carrying tools connected to the power supply. Make sure that the switch has been switched off when the device is connected to the power supply.
17. Extension cords. Outdoors, use only those extension cords that have
been approved for this purpose and are marked accordingly.
18. Always pay attention. Observe your work. Proceed sensibly. Do not
use the tool if you are lacking in concentration.
19. Check your device for damage. Before each use of the tool, carefully
check the problem-free and intended function of the protective devices or of slightly damaged parts. Check whether the function of moving parts is in order, whether they stick and whether parts are damaged. All the parts must be correctly assembled and operating properly to guarantee problem-free operation of the device. Damaged protective devices and parts should be properly repaired or replaced by a customer service workshop, unless otherwise indicated in the operating instructions. Damaged switches must also be replaced at a customer-service workshop. Never use tools with switches, which cannot be switched on or off.
20. Repairs should be performed only by an electrical specialist. This
power tool complies with the relevant safety regulations. An electrical specialist may carry out repairs.
21. For your own safety, use only accessories and additional devices
which are specified in the operating instructions or are recommended by the tool manufacturer. The use of any tools or accessories other than recommended in the operating instructions may entail a risk of injury for you.
