WORK AREA
1. Operate in a safe work environment. Keep your work area clean and well lit.
2. Do not use in the presence of flammable gases or liquids.
3. Keep anyone not wearing the appropriate safety equipment away from the work area.

4. Minimize distractions in the work environment. Distractions can cause you to lose control of the tool.
5. Store tools properly in a safe and dry location to prevent rust or damage.
6. Always lock up tools and keep them out of the reach of children.
PERSONAL SAFETY
CAUTION! Wear protective equipment approved by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) or American National Standards Institute (ANSI) when using the tool.
1. Head Protection a. Always wear impact safety goggles that provide front and side protection for the eyes.
2. Gloves a. The gloves should provide protection based on the work materials.
3. Protective Clothing a. Wear protective clothing designed for the work environment and tool.
4. Control the tool, personal movement and the work environment to avoid personal injury or damage to tool. a. Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications. b. Do not overreach when operating a tool. Proper footing and balance enables better control
of a tool in unexpected situations.
SPECIFIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING! This product poses risks of fire, burning, inhalation, and explosion. Keep solid combustibles, such as building materials, paper, or cardboard a safe distance away from the heater as recommended by this manual. Never use the heater in spaces which contain or may contain volatile or airborne combustibles or products such as gasoline, solvents, paint thinner, dust particles or unknown chemicals.
WARNING! This model is not for home or recreational vehicle use.
This heater is designed for use as a construction heater in accordance with ANS Z83.7/CSA 2.14-2000, ANS Z83.7a/CSA 2.14a-2007, ANS Z83.7b/CSA 2.14b-2009. Other standards govern the use of fuel gases and heating products for specific uses. Your local authority can provide information about these.
The primary purpose of construction heaters is to provide temporary heating of buildings under construction, alteration, or repair. When properly used, the heater will provide safe economical heating.

NOTE: It is beyond the scope of this manual to cover every possible scenario in which this heater may be used. Check with your local fire safety authority if there you have any questions about heater use.
1. Carbon monoxide poisoning a. Ensure the heater is always placed in a well-ventilated area. b. The use of a carbon monoxide detector (not included) is strongly recommended. c. Early signs of carbon monoxide poisoning resemble the flu, with headaches, dizziness,
and/or nausea. If you have these symptoms, the heater may not be working properly.
d. Have the heater serviced before using it again.
2. Propane gas a. Propane gas is odourless. An odour-making agent is added to propane gas. b. The odour assists in detecting propane gas leaks. However, the odour can fade. c. Propane gas may be present even though no odour exists.
3. The installation must conform with local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the Standard for the Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases, ANSI/NFPA 58 and/or the Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code, CAN/CSA B149.1.
4. Use only the hose and factory preset regulator provided with the heater.
5. Use only propane gas set up for vapour withdrawal.
6. This heater is for indoor use, but must be used in a well-ventilated area with at least 120 sq in. (774.2 cm2) of fresh, outside air.
7. Do not use the heater in occupied dwellings, sleeping quarters, campers, tents, or any type of unvented or enclosed area.
8. Do not use the heater in a basement or below ground level. Propane gas is heavier than air. If a leak occurs, propane gas will sink to the lowest possible level.
9. Do not use the heater as a cooking device.
10. Do not place objects on top of the heater.
11. Keep appliance area clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline, paint thinner, and other flammable vapours and liquids.
12. Do not use the heater in areas with high dust content, as dust is combustible.
13. The minimum heater clearances from combustibles are listed below. a. Sides: 12 ft (3.6 m). b. Top: 12 ft (3.6 m).
14. The legal distances that the heater must be kept away from the propane cylinder(s) are listed below. a. Canada: 10 ft (3 m). b. United States: 6 ft (1.8 m).
15. Keep the propane cylinder(s) below 38° C (100° F).

16. Before each use, check the heater for leaks. a. Do not use an open flame to check for leaks. b. Use a mixture of liquid soap and water to all joints. Bubbles forming show a leak. c. Correct all leaks immediately.
17. Do not use a damaged heater. Check the heater for damage before each use.
18. When the heater is to be stored indoors, the connection between the propane supply cylinder(s) and the heater must be disconnected and the cylinder(s) removed from the heater and stored in accordance with Standard for the Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases, ANSI/ NFPA 58 and CAN/CSA B149.1 , Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code.
19. Inspect the hose assembly before each use. Do not use if the hose is damaged in any way.
20. This heater was designed for a specific function. Do not modify or alter this heater or use it for an unintended purpose.
21. Maintain heater with care (see Maintenance).
22. Operate this heater only on a stable and level surface.
23. Do not block the air inlet (top of base) or air outlet (around top of shell) of heater.
24. Keep the heater away from strong drafts, wind, water spray, rain, or dripping water.
25. Do not leave the heater running unattended.
26. Keep children and animals away from the heater.
27. Do not move, handle, or service a hot or operating heater. Wait 15 minutes after turning the heater off or severe burns may result.
28. To prevent injury, always wear heat-resistant gloves when handling the heater.
29. Always disconnect the propane cylinder from the heater after each use.
30. Store propane cylinders outdoors in a well-ventilated space out of the reach of children. a. Do not store cylinders in a building, garage, or any other enclosed area. b. Do not store cylinders near high heat, open flame, or where temperatures
exceed 49° C (120° F).
31. Turn off propane supply to heater when not in use.
32. Use only original replacement parts. This heater uses parts that are design-specific. a. Do not substitute or use generic parts. Improper replacement parts could cause serious or
fatal injuries.
33. Keep all connections and fittings clean. a. Ensure that the cylinder valve outlet is clean. b. Check the rubber O-ring on the heater inlet fuel connector for damage before each use and
replace if worn or damaged.
34. Keep any propane container at least 20 ft (6 m) away from the areas emitting heat at all times.

PROPANE SUPPLY
1. Propane gas and cylinder are to be supplied by the user.
2. Use this heater only with a propane vapour withdrawal supply system. See Chapter 5 of the Standard and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, ANSI/NFPA 58 and/or CAN/CGA B149.1. Your local library or fire department will have these documents.
3. The cylinder quantity will depend on environmental and temperature factors. Less gas is vaporized at lower temperatures. Your local propane gas dealer can help you select the proper supply system.
The chart below shows the number of cylinders needed to run this heater.

Smaller cylinders can be used for limited run times but it is recommended to use larger cylinders for optimum performance.
UNPACKING
1. Carefully remove the parts and accessories from the box. Retain packaging material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily installed or operated the tool.
2. Make sure that all items in the parts list are included.
3. Inspect the parts carefully to make sure the tools and accessories were not damaged while shipping.
WARNING! Do not operate the heater if any part is missing. Replace the missing part before operating. Failure to do so could result in a malfunction and serious personal injury.

INSTALLATION
WARNING! Only an authorized gas technician should install this product.
WARNING! Test all gas piping and connections for leaks after installation or servicing. Never use an open flame to check for a leak. Apply a mixture of liquid soap and water to all joints. Bubbles forming show a leak. Correct all leaks at once.
NOTE: When this manual refers to a part number, it refers to the included parts list.
1. Install the wheel assembly (#18-19) to the base assembly (#3) with 4 M4 x 10 bolts. (#20) (Fig. 1).
2. Install the handle assembly (#22-25) to the frame assembly (#2) with 2 M4 x 10 bolts (#20) (Fig. 2).
3. Press the button on the handle and rotate the handle to the lowest position as per diagram below (Fig. 3).
4. Attach the handle assembly to the frame assembly with 4 M4 x 10 bolts.
5. Attach the top plate (#1) to the frame assembly with 4 M4 x 10 bolts (Fig. 4).

6. Use 2 spanner wrenches to connect the regulator to the main housing (Fig. 5).
7. Connect the regulator to the gas cylinder and use a spanner wrench to tighten the connection (Fig. 6).
NOTE: Follow the directions on the hang tag attached to the hose assembly for instructions on connecting the hose to the heater. There is only one proper way to connect the hose.
OPERATION
WARNING! Always check for leaks before operation. Follow the procedure detailed in the section titled ‘Installation’ to check for leaks.
WARNING! Follow all local codes and regulations when using this heater.
NOTE: The cylinder supply system must be arranged for vapour withdrawal and include a collar to protect
the cylinder valve.
STARTING THE HEATER
WARNING! The heater assembly and heated air is very hot during operation. Do not touch any part of the heater or get too close to heated air. When checking the flame colour during operation, move in gradually.
1. Turn the control knob (#5) to the OFF position.
2. Fully open the valve on the propane cylinder slowly.
3. Wait 15 seconds.
4. Push the control knob in and turn it to the IGN position.
5. Once ignited, continue to depress the control knob for 30 seconds, then release.
6. If the heater does not light, wait 5 minutes and repeat the above procedure.
