Universal Bed Strap Instructions

(Models 8040, 8060)

This product is designed for use with the Posey Bed models: 8040 (included with the bed) and 8060 (sold
separately as an accessory) and is intended to connect the bed enclosure frame with a medical bed. Make sure to

Inspection

Make sure to inspect the functionality of the strap, which includes one large buckle, two small buckles and
three hook and loop straps:

• After every wash and;

• Prior to leaving the patient unattended.

Application Instructions:

1. Wrap the Large Horizontal Strap A
horizontally around the head or
footboard and buckle (Fig. 1). Adjust
the strap so that it is snug around the
head or footboard (Fig. 2). NOTE: The
large buckle from Strap A should be
facing in toward the bed.

2. Adjust the position of Strap A so the three Slider Bar Support Straps are between the two vertical frame bars (Fig. 3). Raise the
slider bar (part D from assembly manual) from the frame up even with the three Slider Bar Support Straps B (Fig. 4). Using the tab
provided, unhook the hook and loop from each strap and place the slider bar centered into each strap (Fig. 5). Close each strap
back tightly.

3. Wrap each of the Small Vertical Straps C
vertically around the head or footboard
and buckle (Fig. 6). Adjust the straps so
they are snug (Fig. 7). NOTE: The buckles
from Strap C should be facing outward
and the loop should be engaged with
hook on Strap A.

4. Repeat at other end of the bed.

• Make sure to properly secure the Universal Bed Strap when in use.

• Make sure to use the Universal Bed Strap on medical beds only. This product is NOT designed to be used with a regular home bed.

Storage and Handling

This device is designed for use in normal indoor
environments. This device may be stored in ambient
warehouse temperatures at normal humidity levels.
Avoid excess moisture or high humidity that may
damage product materials.

Disposal

Properly dispose of
the product per facility’s policy for
BIOHAZARDOUS materials.
