De-activation of immobilizer (with vehicle Locked) [993]
NOTE: 2 minutes
100 seconds
It is possible to switch off the acoustic alarm for so that the immobilizer may be de-activated by entering a four-digit code numberspecific to the vehicle. The four-digit code number (key card) is entered using the ignition key by a sequence of ignition on and off operations. The timeavailable for entering the number is . Each digit of the code number is determined by the number of ignition OFF-ON operations, startingwith the left digit. To enter "0", the ignition must be switched from off to on 10 times.
You must wait for the warning light to go on before entering the next digit.
1 second. 10 seconds
15 seconds. 5 seconds.
5 seconds.
1. The door lock must be unlocked, locked and unlocked again in 5 sec. The acoustic alarm is then interrupted after 2.Open the door within and switch the ignition on. The warning light in the clock will then light up and go out again after 3. Switch the ignition off and on again within The warning light will light up and start to flash after 4. You must start to enter the code number within 5 seconds.5. Example: code number 1312
1 = ignition off-onwait for warning light3 = ignition off-on, off-on, off-onwait for warning light1 = ignition off-onwait for warning light2 = ignition off-on, off-on
6. If the number is correct, the warning light will flash.
This is also the point at which tuning of the remote control units can start.
After the warning light has flashed (point 6) and the ignition has been switched on again, the engine can be started. NOTE:
The immobilizer is deactivated and the alarm system and central locking system are unlocked. if the warning light does not flash after the code numberhas been entered, steps 1-5 must be repeated.
Emergency deactivation does not deactivate the self-priming function of the immobilizer system.

Teaching Control Unit For The Alarm System
NOTE:
- In order to prevent possible complications when teaching the transponder and radio codes, use the spare key as well.
The control unit for the alarm system can only be taught for one vehicle; a transfer to a different vehicle is not possible. As soon as theimmobilizer code has been entered and confirmed, it can no longer be changed.
- The described teaching process was implemented with Tester version 12.0. Later software versions may feature expanded contents.

- The instructions or prompts of the Porsche System Tester have highest priority.
- Code numbers from IPAS are required.
>>
1. Switch on the ignition, connect the Porsche System Tester to the vehicle and start the System Tester.2. Select the menu -Vehicle type-, -Alarm system-, then -Learning functions-.3. Select the menu -Read out remote controls-, enter the key learning code and confirm with F7.4. The Tester confirms that the remote controls have been read.5. Ignition off, disconnect the battery and remove the control unit.6. Install the new control unit, connect the battery, switch on the ignition, Alarm system menu, , Learning functions menu.7. Select the menu -Immobilizer-, enter the immobilizer code and confirm with F7,8. Select the menu -Transfer remote controls-, enter the key learning code and confirm with F7.9. Select the menu -Transponder key-, enter the key learning code and confirm with F7.
As the transponder coils must be taught individually, make sure that the allocation of the position is taught as shown in the IPAS printout.NOTE:
10. The Porsche System Tester shows four positions. Under -Current key-, the transponder code of the inserted key is shown. Check this code is in the
same position as on the IPAS print-out and confirm with F8.
11. Withdraw the key and repeat steps 9 to 10 for the remaining keys.12. In the menu -Alarm system-, select -Coding-; in the menu Country coding, the respective country in which the vehicle is used and the vehicle
model (sliding roof, Cabrio) can be coded with F8.
13. In the menu -Version coding-, the locking of the doors can be adjusted.14. In vehicles with the M-number 536, an alarm siren/tilt sensor is also installed, which must be activated in the menu -Alarm siren/tilt sensor-.15. The teaching process has been completed; start the engine.

INTERMEDIATE ROOF SUPPORT
Alignment of the intermediate roof support is accomplished by means of the cam disk mounted on the steering arm. The intermediate arm should beadjusted in such a way that the top covering material presents a smooth surface between the front and rear supports.

Convertible Top Control Module: AdjustmentsTop Security
TOP SECURITY
To ensure that the top is properly seated when stowed, the retaining lugs on the B-pillars must be precisely adjusted and engagement assured. In thisway the strain on the pressstuds on the tonneau cover does not become excessive and chafe marks on the covers are avoided.

Hydraulic Brake Booster Pump Relay: Service and Repair
Removing And Installing Relay For Hydraulic Pump
General
Three
relays for controlling the return pump and the hydraulic pump (for the brake booster circuit) and for power supply to the solenoid valves in thehydraulic unit are installed on a mount in the front right part of the luggage compartment.
Removal And Installation
Remove and insert the relay (no.3) with the ignition switched off.Make sure that the connectors are firmly seated in the relay socket (the connectors may have slipped slightly down out of the relay socket).
Note
In order to remove the lid on the relay mount, the pin in the blind rivet must be pressed out and the mount must be completely removed. The pin canbe removed by applying compressed air behind the mounting plate.
