StabiliTrak®– Stability Control System
During cooler conditions, the low tire pressure warning message may appear when the vehicle is first started and then turn off as you start to drive. This could be an early indicator that your tire pressures are getting low and the tires need to be inflated to the proper pressure.
See Vehicle Service and Care in your Owner Manual.
Note: The Tire Pressure Monitor can alert you about low tire pressure, but it doesn’t replace normal monthly tire maintenance.
The currently selected gear is shown at the bottom of the Driver Information Center. The transmission will stay in this gear until you shift or the vehicle slows down significantly.
If engine speed is too high or low for the requested gear, the shift will not occur. If engine speed is too low for the current gear, the transmission will automatically downshift to avoid engine stalling.
When coming to a stop, the transmission will automatically shift to First gear.
See Driving and Operating in your Owner Manual.
Tire Pressure Monitor
The Tire Pressure Monitor alerts you when a significant reduction in pressure occurs in one or more of your vehicle’s tires by displaying the Tire Pressure Low message or the Tire Pressure Very Low message on the Driver Information Center (DIC).
Correcting the Tire Pressure
When the low tire pressure warning light illuminates, you must inflate the tire to the proper tire pressure (just as you must refuel the vehicle when the low fuel warning light illuminates). The Tire and Loading Information label shows the correct tire pressure for the tires when they’re cold. “Cold” means your vehicle has been sitting for at least three hours or driven no more than one mile.
You can temporarily clear the DIC message by acknowledging it with the DIC controls. However, a low tire pressure warning will remain on the DIC until you correct the tire pressure.

Your vehicle features rear-wheel drive and may be equipped with “summer only” performance tires, which offer excellent handling on dry roads. However, during winter months, it’s recommended to switch to winter tires that will provide additional traction in poor weather conditions. See your Pontiac dealer for information about recommended winter tires.
