Your vehicle’s instrument panel cluster is designed to let you know at a glance how your vehicle is running. It includes these key features:

Note: The instrument panel cluster is designed to let you know about many important aspects of your vehicle’s operation. It is important to read your Owner Manual and become familiar with the information being relayed to you by the lights, gauges and indicators, as well as what action can be taken to ensure safety and to prevent damage.

The Driver Information Center (DIC) on the instrument panel cluster displays a number of vehicle functions, including the trip computer, vehicle feature customization, audio information and vehicle warning messages.
DIC Controls
DIC functions and menus can be accessed using the following controls located on the left side of the steering wheel:
(Trip): Press this button to scroll
through the trip computer displays and vehicle customization menu, and to acknowledge a warning message.
(Enter): Quickly press and release
this switch to reset all screens. Press and hold this switch for more than three seconds to reset only the current screen. A chime will sound when the reset is complete.

Trip Computer
Press the (Trip) button to scroll through the trip computer displays, including:
• Odometer/trip odometer
• Fuel range
• Average speed/average fuel economy
• Overspeed warning
• Units — English/Metric
• Digital Speedometer
• Tire pressure monitoring When scrolling through the displays, the
values are highlighted for a short period before the highlighting disappears. The values cannot be reset unless they are highlighted.
Vehicle Feature Customization
The customization menu is available only when the vehicle speed is below 6 mph. To navigate the customization menu:
1. Press and release the (Trip) but­ton until Customization is displayed; then press the (Enter) switch to enter the customization menu.
2. Rotate the switch with your thumb to scroll through the menu and the entries within a menu.
3. Press the switch to select a menu or menu entry.
4. To exit a menu, scroll to the symbol at the top-left corner of the display and press the switch.
5. To exit the customization menu, scroll to Exit and press the switch, or press the button.
Customization menu entries include:
• Reset settings (reset all settings to the factory defaults)

The functions of the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmit­ter include:
(Unlock):
Press this button to unlock the driver’s door only or all doors. The unlock function can be customized using the Driver Information Center.
(Lock): Press this button to lock all
the doors.
(Trunk): Press this button to
unlatch the trunk. The trunk also can be unlatched by
pressing the trunk release button locat­ed in the glove box.
(Remote Start): Press this button to
start the engine. (See Remote Vehicle Start.)

• Lighting – Approach lighting – Egress lighting
• Trip Computer (see Trip Computer earlier in this section)

When scrolling through the menu, help screens are available to help you under­stand the features.
• To view a help screen, select a fea­ture and wait a few seconds for the help screen to pop up.
Warnings and Messages
The DIC provides a variety of vehicle warning messages (depending on optional equipment) if a problem is sensed in a vehicle system.
• To acknowledge a message and clear it from the display, press the
button on the steering wheel. Some urgent messages cannot be cleared from the DIC display.
If you have a current OnStar subscrip­tion, and a warning message appears, you can press the OnStar button and speak to an OnStar Advisor. In many vehicles, OnStar Advisors can access certain diagnostic information and can tell you how serious the problem is and what you should do about it.
Note: Your vehicle’s warnings and mes­sages provide critical information that can prevent damage to your vehicle. Review your Owner Manual to become familiar with the information displayed and the action required.
SAFETY & SECURITY
Remote Keyless Entry
Note: An emergency trunk release handle
is located just inside the rear seat pass­through, which can be used to unlatch the trunk in case of battery failure.

Your vehicle is equipped with a Passenger Sensing System located in the front passenger seat for the front passenger airbag. There also is a front passenger airbag status indicator locat­ed on the inside rearview mirror.

Passenger Airbag Status Indicator
Note: It is recommended that children not
be placed in the front passenger seat, even with the Passenger Sensing System. All children should be properly secured in a rear seat.
Aftermarket seat covers should not be used. They may interfere with the airbag sensors and will void the warranty.
OnStar
®
Your vehicle may feature the OnStar Safe & Sound Plan or the uplevel OnStar Directions & Connections Plan, with one year of OnStar service from the date you purchased your new vehicle. OnStar offers a variety of capabilities, such as Remote Door Unlock, Automatic Notification of Airbag Deployment, and Hands-Free Calling. In addition, most vehicles can get driving directions using Turn-by-Turn Navigation. Press the OnStar button to ask an OnStar Advisor about the service plan you have or to upgrade your plan.

(Vehicle Locator/Panic Alarm):
Press and release this red button to locate the vehicle. The exterior lamps will flash and the horn will sound.
Press and hold the button to activate the panic alarm. The turn signals will flash and the horn will sound. To cancel the alarm, press the button again or turn the ignition key to the On position.
Keys
One RKE transmitter features a folding key and the other transmitter has a fixed blade key. There also is a glove box key.
• To extend the folding key, press the round button on the RKE transmitter.
• To retract the folding key, press the round button and fold the key into the RKE transmitter.

Door Locks
To lock/unlock the vehicle without the Remote Keyless Entry transmitter:
• Press the power door lock or unlock button located on the center console. The driver’s door will not lock if the door is open.
• Insert the key in the driver’s door, and turn it toward the rear of the vehicle to lock all doors; turn it once toward the front of the vehicle to unlock the driv­er’s door, or turn it twice toward the front of the vehicle to unlock all doors.
The fuel door will not open if the
driver’s door is locked.
