1. Preface

Notes：

The PCT box is specially designed for the CTs with multi-ratios.
The wiring change or connection during testing is prohibited.

Safety rules

Please read the instructions carefully before operating the PCT auto-test box. If you don’t
understand some safety rules, please contact PON OVO POWER CO., LTD before operation.
The PCT auto-test box is specially designed for use with PCT200i or PCT200Ai. Therefore,
follow the safety rules both in this user manual and PCT200 User M anual when proceeding
with the PCT auto-test box.
Maintenance and repair should be carried on in the factory or the certified maintenance center.

General

Strictly follow the five safety rules below:

 Disconnect completely
 Secure from reconnection
 Verify that the installation is dead
 Carry out grounding and short-circuiting
 Provide protection against adjacent live parts

Measures

The PCT auto-test box user manual or the e-manual has t o be available at the site where the
PCT box is used. All users of the PCT box must read and fol l ow the safety rules and all the
instructions for installation and operation.

The PCT auto-test box can only be used as the desc ribed in t his user manual. Any other
application is not allowed in accordance with the regulations. The manufacturer is not liable
for the damage from improper usage. The user assum es all responsibility and risk.

Power supply

The power supply is 110-240V AC with protective ground.

Safe operation

 Make sure to put the test equipment on dry and solid ground.
 If working in other than laboratory environment only use the PCT auto-test box with a

solid connection to ground of at least 6mm
the test object.

 Do not open the PCT auto-test box. Opening the PCT auto-test box inval i dates all

warranty claims.

 Do not repair, modify, extend or adapt the PCT auto-test box or any acces sory .

 Do not operate the PCT auto-test box under wet or most conditions.
 Do not operate the PCT auto-test box when explosive gas or vapors are present.
 Check if there is any visible damage before putting the PCT auto-test box into operation.
 Use the PCT auto-test box only in a technically sound condition and when its use is in

accordance with the safety regulations for the sp ecific job site and application.

 Always be aware of the danger of the high voltages and currents associat ed with this

equipment. Pay attention to the information provi ded in this user manual.

 When disconnecting cables, always start at the device feeding the power.
 Never connect or disconnect the test object while the outputs of the connected PCT200i

or PCT200Ai.

 For protection against parasitic current or voltage, always connect the equipmential

connector on the PCT auto-test box to protective ground.

 Make sure that the terminals of the test object to be connected to the PCT auto-test box

do not carry any voltage potential. During a test, the PCT200i or PCT200Ai (with the PCT
auto-test box connected) is the only permitted power source for the test object.

 Only use wires with 4mm safety “banana” connectors and plastic h ousing for connection

to the front panel input/output sockets.
