Pond Pump
OPERATION
Please read the following instructions very carefully before you start. This pump is suitable for ponds, aquariums, fountains and filter systems.
Pondline pumps are safe to function both indoors and outdoors, they can be operated both submersed & inline although they must always be full of water.
Because of the size, this lighter, smaller pump can outperform other pumps on the market. The vortex impeller and ceramic components allow this unit to be both energy saving and efficient. The unique design of the impeller allows for a dramatic reduction in the frequency of cleaning.
INSTALLATION
Suitable application for installation is either submersed or inline, however the pump must be full of water and never run dry.
Place the pump on a stable surface that is free of sludge, sand and other debris, attaching the unit to the bottom or side of the pond. If necessary use the sliding bracket (with four suction feet) provided.
The pump is best placed in an area of the pond where the water will get maximum circulation (inlet and outlet at opposite ends).
The electricity supply cord to the pump should extend in a loop below the 13-amp plug socket; this is to prevent water drops from making contact with the plug or electricity supply outlet.
If a low voltage pump is being used the transformer must be kept in a dry area as it is not waterproof.
It is recommend that a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA be installed for the Pondline pump and any other electrical products used in or around the pond.
If the unit is used outside of the pond it should be lower than the surface of the water, making sure the pump always has water so that it does not run dry and over heat.
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
Carry out routine maintenance regularly. The following maintenance and cleaning will improve the pumps performance and its life. Pumps do not require lubrication or special maintenance. The pump may stop working if the water flow into the pump is reduced, this may be caused by grit or algae clogging the pumps sponge filter or wedging in between the impellor and wall of the pump.
Turn off the power supply, move the pump to a dry location (do not use the power cable to lift the pump).
Remove the pre-filter cage and pre-filter foam from the pump motor (blocked foam will reduce the pumps flow rate considerably).
The impeller is situated in the pump housing and can be removed by turning the cover anti-clockwise to release (there may or may not be screws to remove depending on pump size)
Pull the impeller assembly away from the pump body.
When disassembling the impeller please ensure that you do not lose the small
plastic washers positioned at the top and bottom of the impeller as these ensure the quiet and efficient operation of the pump.
Check the “O” Ring of the pump body.
Wash all parts with fresh water carefully to remove all accumulated debris.
Replace the impeller cover on the pump body and tighten the screws (depending
on pump size).
Place the pump back in the water making sure the pump is fully submersed in water.
LOW VOLTAGE PUMPS
Low voltage pumps are quality products, designed using the very latest technological developments. Pondline pumps have been developed using synchronous technology, whereby the electrical parts are fully encapsulated in epoxy resin and working with low voltage will further enhance the safety when in use. Low voltage pumps work under rated voltage and must be connected to the transformer provided. Always keep the transformer away from the pond in case of damage by water or humidity. The transformer is not waterproof therefore must be kept in a dry area. It is recommended that a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA be used in conjunction with the pump.
SAFETY WARNINGS
Make sure that the voltage and frequency of power supply comply with the specifications on the product.
The pump is only suitable with a FI-switch 30mA and has to be connected to a regular safety plug socket.
Never pull the pump or remove the pump by pulling the cord.
Never remove the plug or shorten the cord (this may void the warranty)
Keep the plug and socket dry, if low voltage make sure that the transformer is also
kept in a dry place.
The pump is not suitable for use in swimming pools or other situations where humans may make bodily contact with the water.
Only use the Pondline pump in fresh water.
Always turn the unit off before cleaning or removing the pump for maintenance.
The transformer is not waterproof and must be kept in a dry area.
Never let the pump run dry.
Do not allow the pump to freeze in the winter.
WARRANTY
This product has a 24 months manufactures warranty (from date of purchase) against mechanical or material defects and does not apply in case of improper use, negligence, lack of maintenance or accidental damage either to the pump, the impeller or impeller shaft. The warranty may be void if damage is done to the product from abuse or negligence. The manufacturer or distributor shall not be held liable for any damages caused by defective components or materials, or for loss incurred because of the interruption of service or any consequential, incidental damages or expenses arising from the manufacture, sale, use or misuse of this product. The manufacturer shall not be held responsible for any loss of fish, plants or other livestock as a result of any defect or failure of this product. This warranty excludes the sponge pre-filter and impeller which may require replacing annually.
In the event of a warranty claim, please contact your supplier with the original receipt for repair or exchange.
