whiteboard.
This manual describes how to install and use the ēno interactive
whiteboard. For more information about the PolyVision driver that you
install on your computer, refer to the
installed along with the PolyVsion driver.

Install the whiteboard
To mount the ēno whiteboard, follow the instructions provided in the ēno
Installation Quick Reference Guide
Two people are needed for portions of this installation.
When you install the whiteboard, you can mount it to: sheetrock, brick,
cinderblock, plaster, or metal.
Control icon mounting options
The ēno interactive whiteboard includes control icons that provide key
features and functions when you tap them with the ēno stylus. The control
icon strip can be mounted anywhere, including on the whiteboard by
pressing the magnetic backing to the board.
Prepare the ēno stylus
To prepare the ēno stylus for use:
• Install batteries as illustrated in the ēno
• The ēno stylus requires a Bluetooth connection with your computer.
Assure that the ēno stylus is paired with your computer as described
below in Prepare your computer.

To turn the ēno stylus on and off:
• Remove and replace the stylus cap.
About the ēno stylus battery
When the stylus is not in use, replace the cap to extend battery life.
The computer which is paired with your stylus provides on-screen
warnings when:
• the ēno stylus battery is low, to remind you to replace the battery
• the stylus has been idle for five minutes, to remind you to replace the
cap
Note that NiMH rechargeable batteries are not suitable for the ēno stylus.
Lithium batteries give the longest life.

Preparing the ēno whiteboard for use
Prepare your computer
To prepare your computer for use:
• Install the PolyVision driver as described below in Driver installation.
• The ēno stylus is a Bluetooth device and must pair with the computer
that interacts with the whiteboard. You can use ēno regardless of
whether your computer has Bluetooth capability built-in. The PolyVision
BT (Bluetooth) adapter adds Bluetooth capability to your computer as
described below in Pairing the ēno
• Connect a projector to your computer using the video cable that is
provided with your projector as described below in Getting started
with your projector.
Driver installation
To use ēno, your Windows-based computer must have:
stylus and your computer.
• Pentium processor
• 512MB RAM
• Windows XP SP2, Tablet XP SP2, or Vista
• One available USB port
To use ēno, your Macintosh computer must have:
• PowerBook, G4, iBook, iMac, or eMac
• PowerPC or Intel microprocessor
• 512MB RAM
• System software OS X (10.3.9 or better)
• One available USB port
To install the PolyVision driver on your computer:
1. Locate and insert the PolyVision installation CD.
2. Installation should begin automatically. If it does not:
Windows: double-click “My Computer” on your desktop and
double-click the removable disk drive named “PolyVision.”
Installation begins.
Macintosh: double-click the PolyVision icon on your desktop,
double-click the “Macintosh” folder, and double-click “PolyVision
Installer.” Installation begins.

3. Follow the prompts you see on the screen to complete the
installation. On a Macintosh, your system automatically reboots.
When installation is complete, a message appears on your computer
screen and the PolyVision icon appears in your system tray (Windows) or
system menu (Macintosh).

The PolyVision driver runs unobtrusively in the background whenever your
computer is on.

Pairing the ēno stylus and your computer
The ēno interactive whiteboard provides wireless communication with your
computer via the ēno stylus, which is a Bluetooth device. As with all
Bluetooth devices, the ēno stylus must be paired with the computer that it
interacts with. The stylus can be paired with only one computer at a time.
PolyVision provides a USB Bluetooth adapter that automatically initiates
Bluetooth pairing with the ēno stylus. (Refer to Appendix 1 for details
about Bluetooth pairing options.)
To automatically install Bluetooth drivers and pair your ēno interactive
whiteboard stylus with your computer:
1. Turn on your computer.
2. Plug the PolyVision Bluetooth adapter into any available USB port
on your computer and leave it there.
3. When you are asked “Do you want to pair your stylus now?” turn
on the ēno
