Danger of burns!
• When Refilling the boiler, pour in gently at first and keep your face away. Otherwise the still hot boiler walls can spit drops of very hot water or steam spray.
• Do not put any detergent or chemical substance in the boiler. Water by its nature contains magnesium, mineral salts and other deposits which in hard water areas can contribute to limescale build up in the boiler. To avoid these problems, it is necessary to swill out with tapwater and empty the boiler after every 3 or 4 uses.In very hard water areas we recommend the use of our KALSTOP FP 2003, a special natural-base decalcifier which inhibits and breaks down limescale, making it easy to remove just by swilling out the boiler with a little tapwater. This is a preventive against scale build-up and protects the metal walls of the boiler. KALSTOP is available from Polti dealers or by mail-order from your Polti Service Centre.
• Make sure the patented safety cap is fully and correctly screwed on, otherwise you may experience steam escaping from the cap.
• Do not refill the boiler while it is still hot, let it cool down for a few minutes before refilling.
• Do not empy the appliance when the water in the boiler is still hot.
• Do not open the safety cap while the appliance is in use.
• The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface
• When placing the iron on its stand, make sure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable.
• Check periodically the safety cap and the related gasket, replace them with original spare parts if necessary.
• If you iron sitting down, do not place your legs under the ironing board, the steam can cause burns.
• Iron only on heat resistant surfaces and on sur-
faces that allow the steam to escape e.g. mesh ironing boards.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

1a. Unscrew the patented safety cap (5) and fill the
boiler with about 0.9 litres of water using the special funnel (9) making sure that it does not overflow (fig. 1). Normal tapwater can be used. However, as water by its nature contains limestone, which may cause build-up of limescale in the boiler, in hard water areas we recommend the use of our natural-base decalcifier Kalstop FP 2003.
2a. Screw the cap fully and carefully. Make sure the
patented safety cap (5) is fully and correctly screwed on, otherwise you may experience steam escaping from the cap.
3a. Connect the power cable into an earthed power
supply of the correct voltage.
4a. Switch on the boiler and iron by pressing the
switches (2) and (4) (fig. 2).
NOTE: during the filling operation, be careful that the water does not overflow as it may come out and wet the surface where Vaporella is laid.
WARNING: Do NOT under any circumstances put or leave the funnel in the water filling aperture of the appliance when the appliance is connected to

Your Vaporella is equipped with a patented safety cap, which prevents opening of the boiler as long as there is any pressure remaining inside. This is an important and indispensable safety device, and it is necessary to follow certain procedures when re-filling the boiler. When no more water comes out of the iron, proceed as follows: 1d. Switch off the boiler (2). 2d Press the steam request button on the iron (3)
so as to fully exhaust the steam supply from the boiler.
3d. Switch off the iron (4) . 4d. Disconnect the power cable from the mains. 5d. Unscrew anti-clockwise the patented safety cap
(5).
6d. Wait for a few minutes allowing the boiler to
cool down.
7d. When cool, carefully refill the boiler as de-
scribed in paragraph 1a of the section “PREPARATION FOR USE”. If you refill the boiler when not completely cooled, we recommend to pour only very small quantities of water, so as to avoid its immediate evaporation.
CCAARREE OOFF YYOOUURR VVAAPPOORREELLLLA
Before attempting any maintenance operation, always disconnect the appliance from the mains.
• To clean the body of the appliance, simply use a moist cloth. Do not use solvents or detergents which may harm the body material.
• Rinse the boiler every 2 months with clear water, the washing traces will be brown, showing the proper functioning of the decalcifier. In case of very encrusted boiler, proceed in the following way: leave only 0,5 liter water in the boiler, add 5 KALSTOP FP2003 doses; when the boiler is under pressure, press the steam request button until the steam is exhausted; rinse the boiler to eliminate all limescale residues. When the boiler is clean, proceed as normal.
