Operating instructions

Intended use

Use this product to decorate interior and exterior spaces (IP44).
A transformer is not included and must be purchased separately.

For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or
modify this product. If you use the product for purposes other
than those described above, the product may be damaged. In
addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting,
fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep
them. Make this product available to third parties only together
with its operating instructions.

This product complies with the statutory national and European
requirements. All company names and product names are

Note:

The transformer (item no. 1426519) designed for this product
is not included and must be purchased separately.

Safety instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially
observe the safety information. If you do not follow the
safety instructions and information on proper handling
in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will
invalidate the warranty/guarantee.

a) Persons / Product

• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and
pets.

• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These
may become dangerous playing material for children.

• The product is expandable. You can combine a maximum of
1050 LEDs in one system up to a length of 50 m.

• Always check the product for damages before use. Should you
discover any damage, cease use of the product.

• If you notice that the product is damaged during use, do not
touch it (risk of electric shock!). Disconnect it from the power
supply immediately and discontinue use.

• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong jolts,
flammable gases, vapours and solvents.

• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.

• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it
out of operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe
operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:

– is visibly damaged,

– is no longer working properly,

– has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient

conditions or

– has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.

• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even
from a low height can damage the product.

• The lights become hot during operation. Keep the product away
from highly combustible materials while operating.

• Only the transformer designed for this DIY system (item no.

1426519) may be used as a power source.

• When setting up the product, make sure that the cable is not
pinched, kinked or damaged by sharp edges.

• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become
entangled in them. This poses a risk of injury.

• Always disconnect the product from the power supply during
thunderstorms.

• This product is designed to be used indoors and outdoors.

• Attention, LED light:

– Do not look directly into the LED light!

– Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!

• This product’s flexible power supply cord cannot be exchanged
or repaired. If the cord is damaged, the product must be
disposed of.

• Components of this product must not be connected to
components of products made by other manufacturers.

• The connection must only be made using connectors from this
DIY system. Open ends should be sealed tightly before use.

b) Miscellaneous

• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or
connection of the device.

• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed
exclusively by an expert or at a qualified shop.

• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these
operating instructions, contact our technical support service or
other technical personnel.

Operation

Do not set up or operate the product under water.

Make sure that the cables hang loosely and are not
stretched too tightly. Failure to heed this warning may
cause the cables to tear.

Do not fasten the product directly to the installation
surface, do not use, for example, any pushpins. First
install suitable holders and then lay the product on the
holders.

Do not connect the product to the power supply while
it is still in the packaging. Lay the product out entirely
before connecting it to the power supply.

Do not hang any objects from the product and do not
cover the product.

The LEDs are neither dimmable nor replaceable.

1. Lay the product out entirely and arrange the cables so that
they lie freely and are not tangled.

2. Select a suitable installation site (i.e. wall, tree or bush). Use
plastic cable ties to fasten the product if necessary.

3. Insert the connector on the power cable into the
corresponding connection on the transformer or the
connection on a light chain (ensure that the light chain is
switched o). It is only possible to connect in one way.
Secure the connection by screwing the cap on the connector
to the thread on the transformer or the connection on a light
chain (ensure that the light chain is switched o).

4. To connect additional light chains, nets or curtains from the
Mix & Match DIY system, connect the corresponding plug to
the socket on this product. The plug can only be inserted in
one orientation.
Secure the connection by screwing the cap onto the thread.

The product is expandable. You can combine a maximum of
1050 LEDs in one system up to a length of 50 m.

Open ends should be sealed tightly before use. Screw the
cap to the thread on the connection socket that is not in use.

5. Connect the transformer to a power outlet.

6. The LEDs will turn on.

7. To turn o the product, unplug the transformer from the
mains socket.

The product has no power switch and is always on as long as
it is connected to the power supply.

Maintenance and cleaning

• The product is maintenance-free apart from occasional
cleaning.

• Before cleaning the product, disconnect it from the power
supply and let the LEDs cool down.

• To clean, use a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt,
slightly dampen the cloth with water.

• Allow the product to dry completely before continued use.

Disposal

Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not
be disposed of in the household waste. At the end of its
service life, dispose of the product according to the
relevant statutory regulations.

You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute
to the protection of the environment.
