2. Description of the parameters
The parameters shown in bold correspond to the basic factory settings of the control
units.
2.1 Machine type
This setting allows the adjustment of the control system to the different machine sizes.
Selection: ; Spirit 55: 5.5 kg- MFH; Spirit 65: 6.5 kg shared dwelling
- Washing and spin speeds
- Motor / drum transmission ratio
- Parameters for load measurement
- Water levels, water quantities
- Monitoring times for heating period, water intake and water drainage
2.2 Operating concept
This setting allows the adjustment of the control system to the various user screens.
The interface variants are numbered from “UI-TAB-00 ÷ 09”. The screen variants for
the
different machine types are shown on Page ... .
The setting of the operating variant also defines the available wash programmes and
the maximum spin speeds.
For the Topline Export machines, only the UI-TAB-08 and UI-TAB-09 variants are
compatible with the user screens.
2.3 Welcome text
The chosen text with the company logo appears when the washing machine is
switched on at the mains.
Selection: SCHULTHESS; MERKER; FUST; NEUTRAL (off)
2.4 Soaking / hygiene function
This setting enables the user to access these functions with the extended basic settings (see p. 4).
Selection: NONE; SOAKING; HYGIENE FUNCTION; SOAKING + HYGIENE FUNCT.
The hygiene function is not described for the export machines.
2.5 Temperature limit
This setting limits the washing temperature to 87°C , regardless of the programmed
Temperature (machines in higher locations with lower boiling temperatures).
The display of the temperature deselection is not affected by this setting. (95 ⇒ 80)
Selection: NONE; ON
2.6 Specify spin speed
This setting determines the maximum spin speed of the machine. In addition to this
setting, the maximum spin speed is determined by the setting of the operating concept
(see Section 2.2).
Selection: 800 ; 900 ÷ 1400

Spirit TopLine – XLI - EXPORT
534 817AD Page 7 / 27 02/07
2.7 Water supply option
This parameter may be set according to the availability of the option. This setting ensures the correct activation of the solenoid valves during washing and rinsing. This option only works if the additional “S3” water valve is built into the machine.
If soft water is present, soft water (S1/S2) is used during washing and hard water (S3)
is poured in during rinsing.
If hot water is available, cold water (S2) and hot water (S3) are automatically mixed
during washing.
Selection: NONE; SOFT WATER; HOT WATER;
HOT W. + DIRECT INL. COLD W.
2.8 CS / Washcard / coin function
With an integrated CS module, this setting should be set according to the desired
function.
Selection: NONE; CASHCARD; WASHCARD; COIN MODULE; INTERFACE
MODULE
The CS module must be programmed with Management card No. 520 700 for the
same function.
ATTENTION:
If the settings in the washing machine and the CS / Washcard / liquid detergent
module do not match, error message “F51” is displayed.
2.9 Blocking of function buttons
Blocking function buttons is only possible on the control systems with the small LCD
display.
Selection: NONE; 3 FUNCT. BUTTONS
(Intensive; Time preselection; Fast run function)
;
ALL FUNCT. BUTTONS
(Easy-care; Express; Preset starting time; Temperature and
spin speed deselection)
TIME PRESELECTION BUTTON
(only this function blocked)
2.10 Blocking of the setting function
This function allows changes to the basic settings to be blocked. The language selection and clock time setting functions are always adjustable.
Selection: NONE; ON
2.11 Water drainage
Shared-dwelling machines only.
Selection: DRAINAGE PUMP; DRAINAGE VALVE
2.12 Heating variant
Selection: ELECTRIC; HOT WATER
When the “Hot water” setting is selected, there is no heating in the machine. The
washing temperature and the warm-up time are not monitored.

534 817AD Page 8 / 27 02/07
2.13 Detergent dosing
Selection: DETERGENT INPUT; LIQUID DET. W. INT. CONTROL
LIQUID DET. W. EXT. CONTROL
For liquid detergent dosing, a liquid detergent module No. 531 947 must be built in.
There are separate instructions for liquid detergent dosing.
In the case of a built-in liquid detergent module, the detergent chambers are also
rinsed out.
With the “LIQUID DET W. INT. CONTROL” setting, the liquid detergent pumps 1 ÷ 8
and the rinsing valve are controlled directly by the liquid detergent module (pump No.;
turn on time; rinsing time)
The parameters for the dosages must be stored in the liquid detergent module
(Washcard; SCS PC).
When the “LIQUID DET W. EXT CONTROL” setting is selected, the liquid detergent
module only gives short impulses to an external dosing unit. The duration of these impulses can be set in the liquid detergent module via the SCS PC. The auxiliary unit
controls the liquid detergent pumps. The parameterising of the liquid detergent dosing
takes place in this device.

3. Error messages
If an operating error has occurred, the programme can be continued by pressing the
“Start button (13)”. When the error has been remedied (e.g. water supply), the control
system repeats the part of the programme in which the error occurred.
Exception: If the “
check water supply ”
error occurs during the wash, the programme is
repeated from the start (flushing in the detergent).
In other cases (“F” errors), the programme is automatically broken off. The error can
be cancelled by pressing the “Fast run” button 15.

Errors during the test programme are displayed with the corresponding number.
The test functions can be started independently of the service card.
This does not apply to the “washing program” test function. This function also includes
the test of the CS module. Once this function has been started, the service card must
be inserted. The CS test program then runs and the washing programme is started.
After the service card has been removed, indications of the drum revolutions per minute and drum temperature appear on the display.
Readout of errors which have occurred in the CS / Washcard module:
If the machine’s Fast run button is pressed when the “CS VERSION” text appears, the
errors which have occurred in the CS / LD module are shown consecutively on the
display.

8. Replacement of power units
There are coding resistances on the power units for the shared-dwelling appliances.
The resistances listed serve only to simplify the identification of the power units. They
are not electrically connected.
Shared-dwelling power unit: 534 061: R 124 equipped
In addition to this coding, the machine type is stored in the processor of the power
unit.
Replacing a control unit:
If a control unit is replaced, the “Machine Type” parameter is set automatically.
Replacing a power unit:
1. Set “Machine Type” parameter (Depending on the type of power unit, only permissible values may be set here).
2. Start button LED flashes.
3. Press start button (machine type is written to the memory of the power unit and the
setting is completed).
Assignment of the coding resistances on the power unit:
R123 equipped: Individual home
R124 equipped: TOPLINE – Shared dwellings
R125 equipped: PROLINE
