This manual is intended to be used as a work reference for a
professional/licensed electrician, well-trained and authorised
users to safely install, use, maintain and repair the product
mentioned on the cover of this document.

1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Identication of the product

The identication plate is attached to the side of the ICE-LC
control box. It contains, among other things, the following
data:

- product name

- serial number

- supply voltage and frequency

1.2 General description

The LC is a fully automatic damper control which controls the

airow in your system according to demand.

1.3 Options and accessories

A range of input sources can be installed to activate the unit
(S-100, SK-300, MC-005, LS-12).

When using the LC in conjunction with gas welding,
torch cutting and/or TIG welding (with currents below 30A) we

recommend using the light sensor (LS-12) instead of or in
parallel with the MC-005 inductive sensor.

2 SAFETY

General

The manufacturer does not accept any liability for damage to

installation, use, maintenance, and repair of the product
mentioned on the cover of this document and any

corresponding accessories. Specic working conditions or used

accessories may require additional safety instructions.
Immediately contact your supplier if you detect a potential
danger when using the product.

The user of the product is always fully responsible for
observing the local safety instructions and regulations.

User manual

- Everyone working on or with the product must be familiar
with the contents of this manual and must strictly observe
the instructions therein. The management should instruct the
personnel in accordance with the manual and observe all
instructions and directions given.

- Never change the order of the steps to perform.

- Always keep the manual with the product.

product are part of the safety features. They must not be

Intended use

The product has been designed as a damper control. Using the
product for other purposes is considered contrary to its
intended use. The manufacturer accepts no liability for any
damages or injury resulting from such use. The product has
been built in accordance with state-of-the-art standards and
recognized safety regulations. Only use this product when in
technical perfect condition in accordance with its intended use
and the instructions explained in the user manual.

Technical specications

The specications given in this manual must not be altered.

Modications

Modication of (parts of) the product is not allowed, except

the bottom plate, which is allowed to be used as entrance
point for external cabling.

Installation

- The installation of this product is exclusively reserved to

authorised, well-trained and qualied engineers.

- Inspect the product and check it for damage.
Verify the functioning of the safety features.

- Never install the product in front of entrances and exits
which must be used for emergency services.

- Make sure that the workshop, in the vicinity of the product,

contains sufcient approved re extinguishers.

Use

- Check the working environment. Do not allow unauthorised
persons to enter the working environment.

- Protect the product against water and humidity.

- Use common sense. Stay alert and keep your attention to
your work. Do not use the product when you are under the

inuence of drugs, alcohol or medicine.

- Make sure the room is always sufciently ventilated;
this applies especially to conned spaces.

Service, maintenance and repairs

ATTENTION!

Maintenance should only be performed by

authorised, qualied and trained persons (skilled)

using appropriate work practices.

Electrocution hazard

Disconnect mains before servicing. Failure to do so
could result in serious personal injury or death.

3 INSTALLATION

WARNING!

Do not attempt installation of this unit unless you
are familiar with the necessary tools, equipment,
utility connections and potential hazards.

Installation should be performed only by a qualied

service provider. Failure to do so could result in
reduced performance of the unit, serious personal
injury or death.

WARNING!
Fire hazard

Never install the control box in areas with
ammable gases.

ATTENTION

The ICE-LC control box is delivered without cables

for external eld wiring. All interconnect cables/wire
size used shall comply to the NEC codes. The glands

used for inserting the cable into the ICE-LC control
box should be placed in the bottom of the casing.

The cable should t tightly in the gland to prevent

any moisture entering the inside of the ICE-LC
control box.

3.1 Unpacking

Check that the product is complete. The package should
contain:

- ICE-LC control box

3.2 Mechanical installation

The ICE-LC should be mounted on a vibration free surface.

3.3 Electric connection

• Connect the ICE-LC in accordance with the separately
supplied electrical diagram.

CAUTION!

Electric connection is to be executed in accordance
with local requirements. Ensure compliance with the
EMC regulatory arrangements.

WARNING!

Make sure the machine is suitable for connection to
the local mains. Information about the connection
voltage and frequency can be found on the

identication plate.

WARNING!

The voltage of the LC is dangerous whenever the
equipment is connected to the mains.
Incorrect installation of the unit may cause damage
to the equipment, serious personal injury or death.
Consequently, the instructions in this manual, as
well as national and local rules and safety
regulations, must be complied with.

The LC unit must be disconnected from mains
if repair or installation work is to be carried

out. Check that mains supply has been
disconnected.

WARNING!

- The unit may not be installed in an explosive
environment.

- Always check that main power is turned off prior
to installation of the LC control box.

- Installation should be conducted by a qualied
electrician.

Depending on what voltage you are using it is
necessary to connect the power wires to different
terminals inside the control box; 115V terminals are
different from terminals used for 230V or 400V.

Electric power should be connected as follows:

- 115VAC: Neutral connects to terminal N,
phase connects to L1 115VAC

- 230VAC: Neutral connects to terminal N,
phase connects to terminal L1 230VAC

- 400VAC: Neutral connects to terminal N,
phase connects to terminal L1 400VAC

The primary side of the transformer is secured by a 0.4 A slow

Inductive Sensor (MCC-05) connection

Connections between the LC and other equipment in the
system are needed when you need them to interoperate.

4 USE

The overrun time is adjustable between seven (7) seconds and
six (6) minutes. To adjust the overrun time of the LC unit
please locate the blue potentiometer wheel on the circuit card.
To increase the time, turn the wheel clockwise, and to
decrease the time turn it counter clockwise. Do not position
the wheel in the outermost directions.

5 MAINTENANCE

The ICE-LC requires no specic maintenance.

6 TROUBLESHOOTING

If the ICE-LC does not function (correctly), please contact your
supplier.

9 DISPOSAL

After life of the product, dispose it of in accordance with state
or local regulations.

1.3 Opties en accessoires

Er kunnen diverse invoerbronnen worden geïnstalleerd om de
unit te activeren (S-100, SK-300, MC-005, LS-12).

Bij gebruik van de LC in combinatie met gaslassen,
snijbranden en/of TIG lassen (met een stroom die lager is dan
30A) wordt geadviseerd om gebruik te maken van de
lichtsensor (LS-12) in plaats van of parallel aan de
inductiesensor MC-005.

2 VEILIGHEID

Algemeen

De fabrikant aanvaardt geen enkele aansprakelijkheid voor

dan wel door onachtzaamheid tijdens installatie, gebruik,
onderhoud en reparatie van het op de voorzijde van dit

werkomstandigheden of gebruikte accessoires kunnen

aanvullende veiligheidsinstructies nodig zijn. Neem s.v.p.

1 INLEIDING

1.1 Identicatie van het product

Het typeplaatje is bevestigd aan de zijkant van de
ICE-LC-besturingskast. Hierop staan onder meer de volgende
gegevens:

- productnaam

- serienummer

- aansluitspanning en frequentie

1.2 Algemene beschrijving

De LC is een volledig automatische afsluitklepbesturing die de
luchtstroom in uw systeem naar behoefte regelt.

De gebruiker van het product is te allen tijde volledig

verantwoordelijk voor de naleving van de plaatselijk
geldende veiligheidsvoorschriften en -richtlijnen.

Gebruikershandleiding

- Een ieder die aan of met het product werkt, dient van de
inhoud van deze handleiding op de hoogte te zijn en de
instructies daarin nauwgezet op te volgen. De bedrijfsleiding
dient het personeel aan de hand van de handleiding te
onderrichten en alle voorschriften en aanwijzingen in acht te
nemen.

- Wijzig nooit de volgorde van de te verrichten handelingen.

- Bewaar de handleiding steeds in de nabijheid van het
product.

Pictogrammen en instructies op het product

(indien aanwezig)

- Op het product aangebrachte pictogrammen,
waarschuwingen en instructies maken deel uit van de
getroffen veiligheidsvoorzieningen. Ze mogen niet worden
afgedekt of verwijderd en dienen gedurende de gehele
levensduur van het product aanwezig en leesbaar te zijn.

- Vervang of herstel onmiddellijk onleesbaar geworden of
beschadigde pictogrammen, waarschuwingen en instructies.

WAARSCHUWING
Elektrocutiegevaar

Onderbreek eerst de verbinding met het
elektriciteitsnet voordat onderhoud wordt verricht.
Anders kan dit leiden tot ernstig persoonlijk letsel of
de dood.

3 INSTALLATIE

Gebruikers

Gebruik van het product is uitsluitend voorbehouden aan
daartoe opgeleide en bevoegde gebruikers. Tijdelijke
werkkrachten en personen in opleiding mogen het product
uitsluitend onder toezicht en verantwoording van vaklui
gebruiken.

Gebruik volgens bestemming

Het product is ontworpen voor besturing van een afsluitklep.
Gebruik van het product voor andere doeleinden wordt
beschouwd als gebruik dat in tegenstrijd is met het bedoelde
gebruik. De fabrikant aanvaardt geen aansprakelijkheid voor
schade of letsel als gevolg van dergelijk gebruik. Het product
is gebouwd in overeenstemming met geavanceerde normen en
erkende veiligheidsvoorschriften. Gebruik dit product alleen
wanneer het technisch in perfecte staat is en in
overeenstemming is met het bedoelde gebruik en de
aanwijzingen in de gebruikershandleiding.

Technische specicaties

De in deze handleiding vermelde specicaties mogen niet

worden gewijzigd.

Modicaties

Modicatie van (onderdelen van) het product is niet

toegestaan, behalve de bodemplaat, die kan worden gebruikt
als invoerpunt voor externe bekabeling.

Installatie

- Installatie van het product is uitsluitend voorbehouden aan
daartoe opgeleide en bevoegde installateurs.

- Inspecteer het product en controleer het op beschadigingen.

Verieer de werking van de veiligheidsvoorzieningen.

- Installeer het product nooit voor in-, uit- en doorgangen die
zijn bedoeld voor hulpdiensten.

- Zorg ervoor dat op de werkplek, in de nabijheid van het
product, voldoende goedgekeurde brandblussers aanwezig
zijn.

Gebruik

- Controleer de werkomgeving. Laat onbevoegden niet in de
werkomgeving toe.

- Bescherm het product tegen water of vocht.

- Gebruik uw gezond verstand. Blijf voortdurend opletten en
houd uw aandacht bij het werk. Gebruik het product niet als
u onder invloed bent van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen.

- Zorg altijd voor voldoende ventilatie, met name in kleine
ruimten.

Service, onderhoud en reparatie

WAARSCHUWING!

Probeer deze unit niet te installeren tenzij u
vertrouwd bent met de benodigde gereedschappen,
apparatuur, aansluitingen op nutsvoorzieningen en
potentiële gevaren. De installatie mag alleen

worden uitgevoerd door een gekwaliceerde

installateur. Anders kan dit tot gevolg hebben dat de
unit niet goed werkt of kan dit leiden tot ernstig
persoonlijk letsel of de dood.

Brandgevaar

Installeer de besturingskast nooit in gebieden met
ontvlambare gassen.

LET OP

De ICE-LC-besturingskast wordt geleverd zonder
kabels voor externe veldbedrading. Alle groottes
van kabel/draadverbindingen moeten

overeenstemmen met de NEC-codes. De pakkingen

die worden gebruikt om de kabel in te voeren in de
ICE-LC-besturingskast, moeten worden geplaatst in
de bodem van het omhulsel. De kabel moet nauw
aansluiten in de pakking om te voorkomen dat
vocht de ICE-LC-besturingskast kan binnendringen.

3.1 Uitpakken

Controleer of het product compleet is. De inhoud van de
verpakking bestaat uit:

- ICE-LC controlebox

3.2 Mechanische installatie

De ICE-LC moet worden gemonteerd op een trillingsvrij
oppervlak.

3.3 Elektrische aansluiting

• Sluit de ICE-LC aan in overeenstemming met het
afzonderlijk geleverde elektrisch schema.

VOORZICHTIG!

Elektrische aansluiting dient te geschieden in
overeenstemming met de ter plaatse geldende
voorschriften. Zorg voor naleving van de
EMC-voorschriften.

WAARSCHUWING!

Controleer of de machine geschikt is voor
aansluiting op het plaatselijke net. Gegevens met
betrekking tot de aansluitspanning en frequentie

vindt u op het betreffende identicatieplaatje.

LET OP!

Onderhoud mag alleen worden uitgevoerd door

bevoegde, gekwaliceerde en getrainde

(vakkundige) personen die gebruikmaken van de
juiste werkmethoden.

1. “Gebruik volgens bestemming” zoals vastgelegd in de EN-ISO 12100 is het
gebruik waarvoor het technisch product volgens de opgave van de fabrikant

-inclusief diens aanwijzingen in de verkoopbrochure- geschikt is. Bij twijfel is
dat het gebruik dat uit de constructie, uitvoering en functie van het product als
gebruikelijk naar voren komt. Tot het gebruik volgens bestemming behoort ook
het in acht nemen van de instructies in de gebruikershandleiding.

WAARSCHUWING!

De spanning van de LC is gevaarlijk wanneer de
apparatuur aangesloten is op het elektriciteitsnet.
Een onjuiste installatie van de unit kan schade
veroorzaken aan de apparatuur, of ernstig
persoonlijk letsel of de dood tot gevolg hebben.
Daarom moeten de instructies in deze handleiding
en de nationale en lokale wetten en
veiligheidsvoorschriften worden nageleefd.

De LC-unit moet afgesloten zijn van het
elektriciteitsnet als reparatie- of
onderhoudswerkzaamheden worden
uitgevoerd. Controleer of de elektrische

voeding onderbroken is.
WAARSCHUWING!

- De unit mag niet worden geïnstalleerd in een
explosieve omgeving.

- Controleer altijd of de hoofdvoeding is
uitgeschakeld voordat de LC-besturingskast wordt
geïnstalleerd.

- De installatie moet worden uitgevoerd door een

gekwaliceerde elektricien.

Op welke aansluitklemmen in de besturingskast de
stroomdraden worden aangesloten, hangt af van de
spanning die u gebruikt; aansluitklemmen van 115V
zijn verschillend van aansluitklemmen die worden
gebruikt voor 230V of 400V.

De elektrische voeding moet als volgt worden aangesloten:

- 115VAC: Neutraal wordt aangesloten op aansluitklem N,
de fase wordt aangesloten op L1 115VAC

- 230VAC: Neutraal wordt aangesloten op aansluitklem N,
de fase wordt aangesloten op L1 230VAC

- 400VAC: Neutraal wordt aangesloten op aansluitklem N,
de fase wordt aangesloten op L1 400VAC

De primaire zijde van de transformator is gezekerd door een
trage zekering van 0.4 A van 5 x 20 mm. De transformator
heeft ook een ingebouwde thermische zekering.

Onderlinge verbinding

Verbindingen tussen de LC en andere apparatuur in het
systeem zijn nodig als deze met elkaar moeten werken.

4 GEBRUIK

De uitlooptijd is instelbaar tussen zeven (7) seconden en zes
(6) minuten. Als u de uitlooptijd van de LC-unit wilt instellen,
lokaliseer dan het blauwe potentiometerwiel op het
schakelingenbord. Draai het wiel rechtsom om de tijd te
verhogen, en linksom om de tijd te verlagen. Plaats het wiel
niet in de uiterste posities.

5 ONDERHOUD

De ICE-LC vereist geen speciek onderhoud.
