EZ-Fiber SlitterTM

Instructions

For use with P/N 15063

Instructions: The EZ-Fiber Slitter™ may be used
on both toneable as well as non-toneable cable. For
toneable cable, the copper toning wire is simply
pealed back from the outer jacket using standard
diagonal pliers, thus allowing for easy application of
the EZ-Fiber Slitter™ over the outer jacket. On
toneable cable once the toning wire is separated
from the cable simply:

1. Push the fiber through

the EZ-Fiber Slitter™ to
the desired length for
slitting (normally 12 - 18
in.). Note that the user
will normally feel a slight
drag as the fiber is pushed through the unit depend-

ing on the size of the cable. Note “IN” and “OUT” on

tool.

2. Depress the button on the side of the unit until

resistance is felt. (At this point both radial slit blades
are engaged and have cut into the outer jacket of
the fiber.)

3. Pull the fiber completely through the EZ-Fiber

Slitter™ keeping the button depressed. The blades
of the unit will cleanly slit the outer jacket as the fiber
is pulled through the unit.

4. Once the fiber has been removed from the EZ-

Fiber Slitter™ twist/separate the end of the fiber
jacket to expose the slit and peal the outer jacket
back. Cut the outer jacket off with diagonal pliers
and remove from the fiber cable.
