for use in electrical, telephone and datacom service applications.
Ergonomically designed large ring provides more power, reduces fatigue

Pull For Performance.

EZ-RJ45® Connectors.

The closer the twists are to the contacts, the
point of termination, the better the performance.
So don’t just push your twists, BUT push & pull
your twists. Take advantage of those extended
conductors and watch your performance go up!
Caution: when working with stranded, allow a
wee bit of slack.

Ceramic Kevlar® Scissors. The Ceramic Kevlar

Scissors provide superior performance when trimming the Kevlar
strength member in fiber optic cables; also works well with Kevlar
cloth. The secret is the Zirconia ceramic blades that will not dull
or lose their edge like stainless steel blade scissors. Large finger
loops are comfortable and easy to manipulate.

Having trouble properly seating your SealSmart™ BNC connectors? Use the connector as a
measuring stick. Place your prepped cable next to your connector with the dielectric beneath
the base of the BNC head. If the conductor goes past the upper end of the knurled band (A),
then it is too long. Trim if necessary.

Use a pen to mark the cable (B) so you will know how far down the
connector needs to go.

Strain Reliefs.

The max cable OD we can use with the EZ Strain Relief is 0.260 inches.

Standard (UTP) Cat5e cable is not a problem. Shielded (STP) Cat5e cable, Standard (UTP)
& Shielded (STP) Cat6 cable can be a concern. Many of these cables are designed with
a cable OD larger than 0.260 inches and the EZ Strain Relief will not go on over the cable.
NOTE: 99% of the time, cables with OD’s larger than 0.260 inches, do not need a strain
relief. Why? Because the natural radius bend of these larger cables will always be greater
than and meet the radius bend spec requirements. See page 37 for EZ Strain Reliefs.

Termination System

1 Strip & remove 1" of your cable jacket with the
Cyclops® 2 Cable Stripper (P/N 15010C). Remove
cellophane and shield. Straighten the wires.

Use the wiring chart above to determine
whether you will be using the T568A or T568B
configuration and organize wires accordingly.

2 Line up your wires and make a clean
cut across all 8 conductors and
slide on the wire guide bar.

(A) Slide bar down until snug with
the end of the jacket.

(B) Cut across all 8 conductors
leaving 3/16" of wire protruding
from wire guide bar.

3 Reshape the end of the cable using the CT-360
(PN 12360), making it oval so it slides into
the connector with ease.

Your wire is ready to be inserted.

4 Carefully insert into back end of connector (A)
and push all the way forward (B) until all
8 conductors are seated flush against the front end.

NOTE: DO NOT use a standard RJ45 crimp tool. This connector is designed with NO
primary strain relief. Using a standard RJ45 crimp tool will crush the connector.





6 Roll up the drain wire and
place in the base of the
external ground. As you
start to bring the external ground into place

tucked in so it is totally covered.

7 Bend down the external ground onto the
cable jacket and push in the wing tips.



8 Crimp the external ground
using the CT-360.

Use the large or small tool
cavity depending on the
size of your cable.

EZ-RJ45® Termination

1) Remove 1 1/2” to 2” of your cable jacket
from your cable using the Cat5e/6 Cable
Jacket Stripper, P/N 15015. Rotate stripper
1 to 2 turns, enough to score the jacket
without cutting through it, to prevent
nicking the conductors.

2) Bend the cable where it is scored and
the cable jacket will ‘pop’ and break
away. Remove it but do NOT throw
it away. This is your FREE
pair separator!

3) Separate pair ends at tip. Place your
free pair separator over one of the
conductor ends of each pair and
push/rotate in opposite direction
of the twist, separating each pair.

4) Straighten each pair, removing
all the bends/kinks.

5) Determine whether you will be using
the T568A or T568B configuration
(above) and organize wires accordingly.
Line up your wires and make a clean
cut across all 8 conductors with
P/N 10517 leaving approximately 1.5"
of wire protruding from the jacket.

6) Slide the connector onto the wires snugging
it up to the jacket. Cat5e: Be sure to insert
cable jacket beyond the primary
strain latch to assure twists are
less than 1/2" from the point of
termination. Cat6: Be sure to insert
cable jacket all the way up and
behind the contacts to assure
twists are less than 3/16” from
the point of termination.

7) Crimp & trim the
connector in one
EZ process with
P/N 100054.
