Monitor Set-up
1. If it is necessary, clean the front surface of the display by using clean, compressed air or by using only a clean, dry soft cloth.
2. Mount the monitor to your enclosure using your hardware. Detailed mechanical draw­ ings, including mounting hole patterns, may be found at: http://www.planar.com/support
3. Securely tighten all mounting hardware.
4. Connect the video and power cables. The unit will display a test screen the fi rst time power is applied without a video signal.
5. Power up the computer. See the user’s guide for your product at http://www.planar.com/support for advanced set-up instructions.
Optional Auto Dimming
The LC17/LC19 is available with optional auto dimming. This feature allows the display to automatically adjust its brightness for optimal viewing at a wide range of ambient lighting conditions. For additional information please view the LC series User Guide at www.planar.com/support.

European Union 2002/95/EC Directive on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
In February 2003, the European Union issued Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances, commonly known as RoHS, in certain electrical and electronic equipment. It restricts the use of six hazardous substances, including lead (Pb). The Directive states that all new products within its scope, placed on the European market after July 1, 2006 must be compliant with its requirements.
Planar Systems Inc. is fully in support of and compliant with EU Direc­tive 2002/95/EC for applicable products within its scope. A Planar part number will be modifi ed with an “LF” suffi x designation to indicate RoHS compliance, as shown on the part number label affi xed to the display and on the box containing the display.
