Display Components
The high-bright UXGA 1200x1600
AMLCD panel is sized to a 541 mm
(21.3 in.) display screen. The reset
button, LED indicator, and input
power and video ports are located
on the back of the display. No
other user-accessible controls
are available.
You can change the brightness of
the Dome E2c display in the Display
Properties dialog of the Windows
operating system. However, when
DICOM auto-calibration is running,
you must control display brightness via the Dome CXtra software.
NOTE: Diagnosis requiring
calibration with the Dome CXtra
software can only be supported
on the DVI-D interface.

Installing the Display Controller
Remove any existing graphics card and its driver from your computer
system before you install the controller and driver. Also disable any onboard
graphics capability on the motherboard. See safety precautions on page 2.
To install the controller
1 Turn o your computer and all
peripherals. Disconnect all cables
from your computer. Leave the
power cord plugged into the
grounded outlet.
2 Remove the computer cover.
3 Remove any existing graphics card
and video signal cable, if necessary.
4 Remove the blank bracket from the
available PCI Express slot.
5 Insert the controller into the
slot, align the connector pins,
and press the board down until
it is rmly seated.
6 Secure the mounting bracket.
7 Reattach the computer cover
and the peripherals.

Connecting the Display
Use only the cables and power cord
supplied with your display.
To connect the display
1 Plug one end of the DVI signal cable to
the DVI port on the display. Tighten the
thumbscrews to secure the connection.
2 Plug the power cord into the power
connector on the connector plate.
3 Plug the other end of the DVI cable
into the video port on the installed
controller. (Use DVI port #1 for
the rst display if you are installing
only one display.)
4 Plug the other end of the power
cord into a grounded outlet.
5 Repeat steps 1 to 4 to
connect a second display
to the controller.
6 Power on your

Installing the Display Driver
Upon restarting your computer system, you must log on with administrator
privileges. On Windows 2000 systems, Service Pack 4 or higher must be
installed.
To install the display driver
1 Start the system. Click Cancel on the Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box.
2 Insert the Planar Installation CD and run the SETUP.EXE utility.
3 Click Next on the Welcome dialog.
4 Click Yes to the license agreement. The installation starts.
5 Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
Planar recommends that you select the Express installation option.
6 When the Setup complete message appears, select Yes, I want to restart
my computer now and click Finish.
To con gure the display
1 Right-click the desktop and select Properties > Settings.
2 Use the native resolution of your display.
3 Click OK until you return to the desktop.

Adjusting the Display Properties
Use the Display Properties dialog to make changes to the video settings or
to set up dual-display con guration.
To set the display orientation
1 Right-click the desktop and select Properties > Settings.
2 Select the monitor that you want to change. Then click Advanced.
3 Click the Monitor tab. Make sure the check box for Hide modes that this
monitor cannot display is empty (unchecked).
4 Click the Rotation tab.
• Check Standard Landscape for landscape mode.
• Check Rotate 90 Left or Right for portrait mode.
5 Click Yes to save the setting. Then click OK until to return to the desktop.
To use a dual-display con guration
1 Right-click the desktop and select Properties > Settings.
2 Click the monitor icon 2. Then select Extend my Windows desktop
onto this monitor.
3 Set the resolution and color quality for the second display.
4 Click Apply or OK.

Handling the Display
• Set up your display on a stable,
level surface away from any direct
light or heat source, but near a
grounded AC outlet.
• Choose a well-ventilated location
with an adequate amount of space.
Do not block the vents on the back
of the display.
• Never lift the display by the desk
stand. Use both hands to lift or
move the display. Avoid touching
the screen.
• Never apply pressure to the screen
or touch the screen with bare ngers
or with any objects.
• Allow the display unit to reach room
temperature before powering on.
• Avoid sudden temperature changes
in the environment, as this may
cause condensation, which damages
the display.
• Never remove the back cover or
disassemble the display. There are
no user-serviceable parts inside.
• In locations where 240V outlets
are used, connect the Dome E2c
display only to a center-tapped,
240V, single-phase supply.
• When troubleshooting, check that
all cables are properly connected
and that your computer is turned
on and not in power-saving mode.
• Follow your local governing
ordinance for proper disposal or
recycling of electronic components.

Cleaning the LCD Screen
Use a dry, clean, lint-free cotton cloth to remove
surface dust from the display screen. Do not use
chemically treated dust cloths.
To remove grease or organic contaminants,
follow this procedure:
1 Disconnect the power supply from the display.
2 Dampen a soft, clean cloth with a small amount
of isopropyl alcohol.
3 Wipe the display screen gently with the
dampened cloth.
4 Use a dry, clean, lint-free cotton cloth to wipe
o the residue.
Do not spray or use
acetone, toluene, or
harsh solvents on the
display case or screen.
Chemical cleansers
may cause damage to
the display.
Do not touch the LCD
screen with your ngers.
Skin oils are hard to
remove from the screen.
Do not saturate the
cleaning cloth. Liquid
that drips on the glass
may seep into the
display case.
