Welcome! Take a deep breath.

Indications for Use
The Pivot Breath Sensor is a breath carbon
monoxide monitor intended for single-user use by
cigarette smokers to inform the user about how
breath carbon monoxide levels are affected by
smoking behavior. The device is not intended to
be used with other inhaled products.
1 Download App
Check your email for the link to download the Pivot
app onto your smart phone. You can also search
"Pivot Journey" in the App Store (iOS) or Google
Play Store (Android).
Requires iPhone 5 and above with iOS 10.0 and

2 Pairing Your Device
Disconnect breath sensor from power source
before pairing.
Open the Pivot app and click the
sensor icon in the top right corner.
Turn Bluetooth on and open app.
On
Choose the icon of the sensor that looks
like yours, then click “Pair My Sensor.”

Watch the "Why CO?" video or read the text,
When your Pivot Breath Sensor flashes green,
then click "Next."
Press the button on your Pivot Breath Sensor
until the LED light flashes blue, then release
the button.

After watching the Breath Sensor Tutorial video, you
Guided Breath Test
Press the
button on the
sensor and hold
until the light
flashes blue
Follow the instructions on the screen
to complete the Guided Breath Test
will start an interactive tutorial called the Guided
Breath Test to learn how to give a breath sample.

Unsuccessful Guided Breath Test
Note: if you get an error message before
or during the Guided Breath Test, you
might be:

Starting to blow too soon
•
Starting to blow too late
•
Not blowing long enough
•
Starting within 5 minutes of your last sample
Press "Try Again" to
repeat Guided Breath
Test, or wait 5 minutes
before trying again
Viewing Your Sample Results
The value of your
breath samples are
displayed in your
CO Logs in the
Pivot App

Giving a Breath Sample
Important:
Press and hold the button.
Inhale when you hear a beep
and the LED starts flashing
blue. Hold your breath and
release button.
• When submitting a breath sample, sit down,
and take a deep breath.
• Do not use the Pivot Breath Sensor while
operating any type of vehicle or machinery.
• Do not use the Pivot Breath Sensor around
children. The straw can be a choking hazard.
• Clean straw with soap and water
thoroughly before use.
