quality, reference level speaker performance, and advanced 21st century digital technology, the X‑Z9 combines conventional sources of music listening (CD, AM/FM, and Phono) with a wide variety of new sources of digital music; such as iPod¨ and MP3 players, XM¨ and SIRIUS¨ Satellite Radio, USB media players, and 100s of Internet Radio Stations from around the world. The X‑Z9 even accepts streamed PC Audio via an Ethernet connection from your home network! With Pioneer's proprietary Sound Retriever technology, compressed music files are ÒrebornÓ and ready for a hi‑fidelity playback experience.

Can play CD-R and CD-RW music discs in music CD and Video CD format. However, the pickup may not be able to play some CD-R or CD-RW discs, depending on the condition of discs and pickup. Compatible formats: CD-Audio, Video CD. Multi-session Playback: Yes (Except CD-Audio and Video CD). Unfinalized disc playback: CD-Audio only.
MP3 file name requires MP3 or mp3 as an extension. Chinese characters cannot be displayed, although files featuring them can be played. 299 tracks/folders can be played per disc. Can play with VBR (Variable Bit Rate), but playing time may not be shown correctly. Cannot play some CDR/RW discs recorded via PC, depending on disc and pickup conditions or PC
system setup parameters.
