INSTRUCTIONS AND WARRANTY

STEAM & SPRAY IRON
Congratulations on purchasing our PINEWARE Steam & Spray Iron. Each unit is
first time, please read the instruction manual carefully and keep it for future
reference.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
1. When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should
always be followed including the following:
2. Please read the instructions carefully before using any appliance.
3. Always ensure that the voltage on the rating label corresponds to the mains
voltage in your home.
4. Incorrect operation and improper use can damage the appliance and cause
injury to the user.
5. The appliance is intended for household use only. Commercial use invalids
the warranty and the supplier can not be held responsible for injury or
damage caused when using the appliance for any other purpose than that
intended.
6. Avoid any contact with moving parts.
7. Close supervision is required when any appliance is used near children or
invalids.
8. Check the power cord and plug regularly for any damage. If the cord or the
plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified
person in order to avoid an electrical hazard.
9. Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or damaged in any way. In
case of damage, take the unit in for examination and/or repair by an
authorised service agent.
10. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse or expose the motor
assembly, plug or the power cord to water or any other liquid.
11. Never immerse the unit in water or any other liquid for cleaning purposes.
12. Remove the plug from the socket by gripping the plug. Do not pull on the
cord to disconnect the appliance from the mains. Always unplug the unit
when not in use, before cleaning or when adding or removing parts.
13. The use of accessory attachments that are not recommended or supplied
by the manufacturer may result in injuries, fire or electric shock.
14. A short cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
15. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter. Ensure that the
cord is not in a position where it can be pulled on inadvertently.
16. Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces and do not place on or near a
hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
17. Do not use the appliance on a gas or electric cooking top or over or near an
open flame.
18. Use of an extension cord with this appliance is not recommended. However,
if it is necessary to use an extension lead, ensure that the lead is suited to
the power consumption of the appliance to avoid overheating of the
extension cord, appliance or plug point. Do not place the extension cord in
a position where it can be pulled on by children or animals or tripped over.
19. This appliance is not suitable for outdoor use. Do not use this appliance for
anything other than its intended use.
20. DO NOT carry the appliance by the power cord.
21. Do not leave this appliance unattended during use. Always unplug the unit
when not in use or before cleaning.
22. Always operate the appliance on a smooth, even and stable surface. Do
not place the unit on a hot surface.
23. Ensure that the switch is in the “Off”/”MIN” position after each use.
24. The manufacturer does not accept responsibility for any damage or injury
caused by improper or incorrect use, or for repairs carried out by
unauthorised personnel.
25. In case of technical problems, switch off the machine and do not attempt to
repair it yourself. Return the appliance to an authorised service facility for
examination, adjustment or repair. Always insist on the use of original spare
parts. Failure to comply with the abovementioned precautions and
instructions, could affect the safe operation of this machine.
26. When you have finished ironing or when you are leaving iron unattended:
a. set the steam knob to the Off / “O” position by pushing it down, and
the Temperature Control Dial to Off/MIN.
b. stand the iron upright.
c. disconnect the iron from the wall outlet.
27. Do not touch hot metal parts, hot water or steam. These parts become hot
and may cause burns. Take care if you turn the iron upside down: there
may be hot water in the tank.
28. The plug and cord should not be allowed to touch the hot soleplate. Let the
iron cool down completely before taking it away.
NOTE: Some parts of the iron have been slightly greased and as a result the iron
may smoke slightly when switched on for the first time, remove the protective films
or stickers from the sole plate and the cabinet. When using the iron for the first time,
clean the sole plate with a soft cloth. Test it on an old piece of fabric to ensure that
the sole plate and water tank are completely clean.

CHOICE OF WATER
1. This iron can be used with normal tap water.
2. If the water in your area is particularly hard, it is advisable to use distilled or
demineralized water.
3. Do not use chemically descaled water or any other liquids for refilling.
HOW TO FILL IN WATER
1. Unplug the iron from the wall outlet.
2. Switch the Steam button to the “0” position and Temperature Control Dial to the
MIN position.
3. Hold the iron handle, tilt the iron and fill in water through water inlet slowly. Fill
Up to the max level of the water tank.
IMPORTANT:
Remove all the water from the water tank and dry the product after use.
SETTING THE TEMPERATURE
1. Insert the plug in the wall socket and stand the iron upright.
2. Turn the temperature control dial to the correct temperature.
3. The correct temperature will be reached when the pilot light has turned off. The
pilot light will be on and off from time to time indicating that the selected
temperature is being maintained.
STEAM IRON
This function can be used only at higher ironing temperature.

1. Fill water into the iron as described above.
2. Stand the iron on its rear side.
3. Connect the iron to a suitable mains supply outlet.
4. Turn the temperature control dial to the “● ●”, “● ● ●” or MAX setting.
5. The pilot light turns off when the required temperature is reached. The iron is
ready for use.
6. Switch the steam button to the required position, steam starts coming out from
the holes in the sole plate.
Note: With conventional steam ironing, water may leak from the sole plate if too low
a temperature has been selected. If this happens, turn the temperature control dial
to the correct position, steam will recommence as soon as the appropriate,
temperature has been reached.
DRY IRONING
1. Turn temperature control dial to MIN position, with the steam button being in
“O” position. Insert the power cord in the wall socket.
2. According to the Temperature Control Setting and Ironing Garment Methods,
turn the temperature Control dial to the correct temperature. When the pilot light
turns off, the required temperature is reached. The iron is ready for use.
3. After ironing, please turn temperature control dial to MIN position. Pull out the
plug, stand the iron upright, wait till it cools down completely and then pack it
away for storage.
SPRAYING
This function can be used any time and it does not affect the ironing temperature.
1. Fill water into the iron up to the Max level of water tank.
2. Aim the spray nozzle at the garment.
3. Press the Spray Button.
STEAM IRONING
This function provides an amount of steam to remove stubborn wrinkles.
1. Fill the iron with water up to the Max level water mark.
2. Turn the temperature control to the position Max.
3. The pilot light turns off when the required temperature is reached.
4. The iron is ready for use.
5. Switch the steam button to select the steam rate you want.

6. Steam will penetrate into the garment removing the wrinkles.
7. After using the steam function, remember to set the steam button to /
“O” position to avoid water leakage.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL SETTING & IRONING GARMENT METHODS
Always check your garment first to see whether a label with ironing instructions is
attached. Follow these instructions in all cases.
If the ironing instructions are missing, then the table below may help you.
If the fabric consists of various kinds of fibres, you must always select the lowest
ironing temperature of the composition of those fibres.

CARE AND CLEANING
Turn the Temperature Control Dial to OFF/MIN, then disconnect the iron from
the wall outlet and let it cool down completely.
Empty any left over water in water tank.
Deposits and other residues on the soleplate can be removed with a cloth
soaked in a vinegar/water solution.
The casing may be wiped with a damp cloth and then polished with a dry one.
Never use any abrasives to clean the soleplate.
Keep the soleplate smooth; avoid contact with metal objects.
If the steam iron does not work as it should; please send it to the distributor for
examining and repairing. Or contact our SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
CHANGING THE PLUG
Should the need arise to change the fitted plug, follow the instructions below.
This unit is designed to operate on 220V~240V current only. Connecting to other power sources may damage the appliance. Connect a three-pin plug as follows:
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Green/Yellow = Earth
Blue = Neutral
Brown = Live

Amalgamated Appliances (Pty) Limited (“the Supplier”) warrants to the original purchaser of
this product (“the Customer”) that this product will be free of defects in material and
workmanship which under normal, personal, family or household purpose manifest
themselves within a period of 365 days from the date of purchase or in respect of commercial
or professional purposes, manifest themselves within a period of 90 days from the date of
purchase. Any claim in terms of the warranty must be supported by a proof of purchase. If
such proof is not available, then notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, the
Supplier’s normal charge for service and/or spares will be payable by the Customer upon
collection of the repaired product. If a claim is made in terms of the aforesaid warranty within
the first 7 days from the date of purchase, the faulty product will be exchanged (provided that
the product is in its original packaging with all accessories). Failing return of the product
within 7 days, the Supplier’s liability shall be limited on return to the Supplier of the product or
parts thereof, to the replacement or repair (in the sole discretion of the Supplier, or its duly
authorised service dealer) of the product to eliminate any defect in workmanship or materials
found to be due exclusively to any acts or omissions on the parts of the Suppliers, of which
defects the Supplier shall have been notified in writing by the Customer within the aforesaid
warranty period. The warranty provided herein and the obligations of the Supplier as
aforesaid are in lieu of, and the Customer waives, all other warranties, guarantees,
conditions or liabilities, express or implied, arising by law or otherwise, including without
limitation, any obligation of the Supplier in respect of any injury, loss or damage (direct,
indirect or consequential) arising out of the use of, or inability to use, this product and
whether or not occasioned by the Supplier’s negligence (gross or otherwise) or any act or
omission on its part. The warranty does not include and will not be construed to cover
products damaged as a result of disaster, misuse, abuse or any non-authorised modification
of the product. The warranty does not include replacement of light bulbs, heater bars, paper
bags or any glass, plastic bowl or jug or other expendables. During the warranty period the
product should be taken to a service centre of the Supplier or one of its duly authorised
service agents. The Supplier neither assumes nor authorises any other person to assume for
it, any additional liability in connection with the sale or servicing of its products.
