XL FAT Drive - Users Guide

Welcome to the realm of Pigtronix! Your new XL FAT Drive is an all analog

distortion and boost pedal designed to impart warm, tube sound overdrive

along with a powerful clean boost, while remaining transparent and true to

your original guitar tone. The XL FAT Drive is sensitive to your playing dynamics

and will respond musically no matter how soft or hard you push it. Both

sections of this pedal are true bypass, allowing you to use either circuit

independently or combine both for a massive tone.

FAT Drive Section

The VOLUME control sets the overall output level. The GAIN control determines

how much distortion the XL FAT Drive adds to your sound when engaged. The

“MORE” switch significantly increases the pedal’s gain when put in the up

(more) position. The TONE knob controls a passive low pass filter. When the

TONE knob is fully clockwise, the filter is taken completely out of the circuit, for

maximum brightness.

XL Boost Section

The XL Boost has warm, clear sound with completely linear frequency response

so that the tone of your instrument remains true as it gets louder. The XL Boost

will impart definition and clarity to clean sounds and will increase the power

and impact of distortion tones for both lead and rhythm work.

Effects Loop (Send / Return)

The SEND and RETURN jacks will allow you to patch any other effect in between

the FAT Drive and XL Boost sections of this device. Simply connect the SEND

jack to the input of the effect you are looking to insert and connect the output

of the effect to the RETURN jack.

Power

The 18VDC power supply that is included provides a huge amount of headroom

and output level. Feel free to experiment with running this pedal on a standard

9VDC (neg. tip) supply to get even more crunch at the expense of some
headroom and overall output. The XL FAT Drive does not take batteries.
