OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
P SUB 4
POSITIONING The active subwoofer P SUB 4 is suited to virtually all positions. Ideally,
the P SUB 4 is centrally positioned near the loudspeakers.
CONNECTION Caution: To avoid damage to your stereo system, switch the system off
before making any connections. The P SUB 4 can be connected in a
variety of ways:
From the out lines of the amplifier to the loudspeaker-inputs (hi
level inputs) of the subwoofer, and then through the loudspeaker-
outputs (hi level outputs) to the satellite speakers. The signal for
the satellite speakers is filtered.
From the cinch-outputs of the pre-amplifier to the cinch-inputs (line
in) of the subwoofer and through the cinch-outputs (line out) of the
amplifier for the satellite speakers.
In a Dolby-Surround system, the subwoofer output is connected to
the surround amplifier with the LFE-in-cinch-plug on the subwoofer.
ADJUSTMENTS With the Low Pass regulator you can, gradually, adjust the upper
frequency limit of the subwoofer between 40 Hz and 140 Hz.
With the Level regulator you can adjust the sound pressure level of
the subwoofer over a wide area, unifying it with the satellite
speakers and the room accoustics.
With the Phase switch, the phase can be adjusted to 180 degrees.
Depending on the combination of the amplifier and satellite, one of
the two positions will be correct. Please chosse the position in
which you hear more bass range.
With the Autopower switch, the various operation modes are
controlled. Please choose between Off (subwoofer is always on),
or On (the subwoofer senses signals and turns off and on from a
standby mode).
