OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
P SUB 1
POSITIONING The active subwoofer P SUB 1 is suited to virtually all positions. Ideally,
the P SUB 1 is centrally positioned near the loudspeakers.
CONNECTION Caution: To avoid damage to your stereo system, switch the system
off before making any connections. The P SUB 1 can be connected in
a variety of ways:
From the out lines of the amplifier to the loudspeaker-inputs (hi
level inputs) of the subwoofer, and then through the loudspeaker-
outputs (hi level outputs) to the satellite speakers. The signal for
the satellite speakers is filtered.
From the cinch-outputs (line out) of the pre-amplifier to the cinch-
inputs (line in) of the subwoofer and through the cinch-outputs
(line out) of the amplifier for the satellite speakers. The signal for
the satellite speakers can be filtered at 40 Hz or 80 Hz,
respectively.
In a Dolby-Surround system, the subwoofer output is connected to
the Surround amplifier with the LFE-in-cinch-plug on the
subwoofer.
ADJUSTMENTS With the Low Pass dial you can, in one continuous motion, vary
the upper limit of the subwoofer between 40 Hz and 120 Hz.
With the Level turnswitch you can adjust the sound pressure level
of the subwoofer over a wide area, unifying it with the satellite
speakers and the room acoustics.
With the Phase switch, the phase can be adjusted to 180 degrees.
Depending on the combination of the amplifier and satellite
loudspeakers, one of the two positions will be correct. Please
chosse the position in which you hear more bass range.
With the High Pass switch you can restrict the lower frequency
range of the satellite speakers between 40 and 80 Hz.

With the AV Boost switch you can raise the lower frequency
volume of the subwoofer (for home theatre use) about 3 dB.
With the Auto switch, the various operation modes are controlled.
Please choose between Off (subwoofer is off), Auto (the
subwoofer senses signals and turns off and on from a standby
mode) or On (subwoofer is always on).
