Technical information

The PS 101 subwoofer was developed with special consideration for outstanding Hi-Fi acoustic qualities. That is why the highly efficient bass reflex design with two 22 cm LDB bass drivers was chosen. The drivers are state of the art and are remarkable for their extremely low-loss suspension and very rigid membrane, which functions as a piston. The very powerful drive ensures the correct Thiele/Small parameter, great efficiency, and low distortion.
The subwoofer is attractive because of its airy, extremely precise deep bass playback with fantastic dynamics and perfect impulse reproduction. This is particularly important during music playback, allowing a great combination with even the highest-quality PIEGA Hi-Fi loudspeakers.
The simple cubic design in elegant aluminium allows the subwoofer to remain integrated and inconspicuous in a wide variety of environments. What is not inconspicuous at all is its powerful sound that stands up to both challenging music and home cinema operation.

AUTO ON
Low frequency effect input
This input bypasses the internal low-pass filtering. That means that the cross-over function 7 is not active.
This input should be used only with a corresponding subwoofer output (AV receiver sub output).
These terminals for connecting amplified music signals allow loudspeaker cables to be used with and without banana plugs.
Use this knob to control the subwoofer volume.
The “HIGH PASS” switch allows filtering of the LINE output 2 for the satellite high pass. You can select 60, 80, or 100 Hz, depending on the size of your loudspeaker.
Line output for the satellite with high pass filter.
Line input
Stereo music signal input for subwoofer.
Use this knob to set the subwoofer upward limit frequency.
Use this switch to set the subwoofer to “In phase” or “Out of phase”. Depending on the type of loudspeaker used, there is either phase cancellation (less keynote) or phase correctness (normal keynote) between the subwoofer and loudspeaker at the 0 setting.
Use this switch to activate the standby automatic mode so that the subwoofer switches on automatically when a signal is received and then back off when the signal ends. In the ON position, the subwoofer remains on.
