Short introduction

11
Replacing the battery
Use size 13 batteries for all Naída SP (SuperPower) and
size 675 batteries for all Naída UP (UltraPower) models.
Using the nail grip, open the battery compartment
completely and remove the old battery , , .
Preparation
Remove the protective
foil from the new battery.
Wait two minutes before
inserting it.

12
Insert the new battery with the “+” sign (flat side of
the battery) in line with the “+” marked on the battery
cover , . Push the battery door upwards to close it
.
Tamperproof battery compartment
For the Junior models (product names extended with Jr)
the battery is locked inside the battery compartment
for safety reasons. The latch can easily be opened with
a fingernail. Place the fingernail in the groove and pull
the latch away from the hearing instrument and
then push it upwards .
Preparation

13
The battery can only be inserted when the latch is
in upwards position . Move the latch over the
inserted battery so that it lies against it. Lock the
battery by pushing towards the hearing instrument
with your finger . Before you close the battery
compartment, check that the latch is locked
in position and the battery cannot be removed.
The tamperproof battery compartment is also
available for the design-integrated FM receiver as
well as the universal receiver audio shoe.

14
Handle the battery compartment with care and
do not use excessive force.
If there is any resistance when shutting the
compartment, ensure that the battery is inserted
correctly.
If the battery is installed backwards, the
instrument will not work. Please open the battery
compartment and insert the battery correctly.
For the Junior models, the battery latch must be
placed back over the battery and locked,
before closing the battery compartment.
The battery compartment must be completely
closed to ensure that the hearing instrument is
water resistant.
When your hearing system is not in use, leave
the battery compartment open to allow any
moisture to evaporate.
We recommend to only use batteries which your
hearing care professional approves and sells.
Preparation

15
Low battery warning
An acoustic signal gives you an early warning that the
battery is approaching exhaustion. You have usually
at least 30 minutes to replace the battery. With very
high quality batteries, this reserve may be higher. The
hearing system will repeat the low battery warning
approximately every 30 minutes.
For optimal use of the batteries, we recommend you to
test and estimate the reserve time individually when
you start using your Naída hearing sytems.
Note:
Please note that the battery consumption increases
with regular use of the myPilot command center, iView
status viewer, the iCom communication interface or
an FM receiver attached.

16
Identifying left and right hearing systems
It is important to use the correct hearing system for
each ear.
Your hearing care professional can mark the hearing
systems for you. The color code on the lower part
of the battery compartment will identify the left and
right hearing systems.
The color code is as follows:
blue = left red = right
Preparation

17
If you have a design-integrated FM solution mounted
on your hearing systems, the color code is situated
on the FM system. To identify the left and right hearing
systems, refer to the drawing below.
blue = left red = right

18
Inserting Naída
hearing systems
with earmold into
your ear
Using the hand on the same side you wear your
hearing system, grasp the earmold between the thumb
and index finger.
Raise your hand to your ear, making sure the canal
portion of the earmold faces your ear. Tilt your hand
slightly forward.
Preparation

19
Place the canal portion of the earmold inside your ear
canal. If it is difficult to get it into place, stretch your
ear by pulling it gently backwards and upwards with
your other hand. When the canal portion is in place,
twist the earmold backwards so that it fits into the
concha and the helix portion is under the fold.
Now position the hearing
system behind the ear.
Be careful not to twist the
tubing.

20
Check the placement of the earmold by tracing the
contour of the ear with your finger.
To remove your hearing system, grasp the earmold,
not the tubing, and pull it out of your ear gently but
firmly.
Preparation

21
Secure ‘n Stay - an optional retention
Secure ‘n Stay is an optional retention that can be easily
mounted on the hearing instrument , .
