SLD44 Basic Installation
Select your form of input High Level / Low Level Installation using “HIGH LEVEL IN” only:
1. Connect ( + ) to constant 12 volts positive
2. Connect ( - ) to constant 12 volts negative
3. Connect ( R ) to a switched 12 volts positive or remote on lead from your source unit. This lead must be powered when the source is on and off when the vehicle is off.
4. Connect your speaker leads to the high level in. You will need to verify the correct phase or loss of sound may occur.
5. Make sure all switches are set to the “OUT” position.
6. Connect your signal out RCA leads to the proper “OUTPUT” connection. “OUTPUT ONE” and “OUTPUT TWO” are the same signal.
7. Turn the gains to their lowest setting on all amplifiers connected to this unit.
8. Make sure all of the “Line OUT adjustments” on the SLD44 are turned fully counter -clockwise.
9. Turn the system on. You should see a Green LED on the top of the SLD44 this indicates that the unit is on and functional.
10. Now turn the volume on the sou rce unit to 75-80% of its total volume capability.
11. Now turn the “Line OUT adjustment” dials clockwise to increase the output level to just below distorted/clipping level *.
12. Turn the source down, you should now have almost full volume control at the source without noise.
Installation using low level in (INPUT ONE / INPUT TWO) only:
1. Connect ( + ) to constant 12 volts positive
2. Connect ( - ) to constant 12 volts negative
3. Connect ( R ) to a switched 12 volts positive or remote on lead from your source unit. This lead must be powered when the source is on and off when the vehicle is off.
4. Connect your RCA’s to the corresponding “INPUT”.
5. Make sure “Switch 1” is in the “IN” position. If you are using 1 pair of inputs, make sure “Switch 2” is in the “OUT” position. If you are using 2 pairs of inputs, make sure “Switch 2” and “Switch 3” are both in the “IN” position.
6. Connect your signal out RCA leads to the proper “OUTPUT” connection. If “Switch 2” is in the “OUT” position “OUTPUT ONE” and “OUTPUT TWO” are the same signal. If “Switch 2” is in the “IN” position “OUTPUT ONE” is linked to “INPUT ONE” and “OUTPUT TWO” is linked to “INPUT TWO”.
7. Turn the gains to their lowest setting on all amplifiers connected to this unit.
8. Make sure all of the “Line OUT adjustments” on the SLD44 are turned fully counter -clockwise.
