DUET Executive Speakerphone
Operating Manual
Thank you for purchasing the Duet Computer / Telephone Speakerphone by Phoenix
Audio Technologies.
The Duet will become your high quality speakerphone for your VOIP communication, as
well as your telephone communications.
Please refer to the instructions in this Operating Manual on how to connect and how to
use the Duet.

Included with the Duet are:
1. A USB (mini B to A) cable. This cable will connect your Duet to your computer for
your VOIP needs. This cable is all you need in order to operate and use the Duet
with your VOIP applications.
2. Two RJ11 (4 position 4 contacts) to RJ11 cable (same connectors as your
telephone handset). These cables will connect your Duet to a telephone that is
equipped with a standard RJ11 type headset connector (typically IP
telephones)*. Some telephones will work with one of the cables and some with
the other one.
3. An RJ11 (4 position 4 contacts) to 2.5mm cable. This cable will connect your
Duet to a telephone (or cellular phone) that is equipped with a standard 2.5mm
headset connector*.
4. A 110-220VAC to 5VDC converter. This converter will provide power to the Duet
if a USB connection is not available.
* Please consult with your IP Telephone provider or your telephone / cellular phone user
manual for compatibility. Only devices that can use standard headsets (with either RJ11
connector or 2.5mm connectors) can be used with the Duet. Phoenix Audio
Technologies is not responsible for any damage that will be caused to your equipment if
it is not compatible with standard telephone headsets.

Basic modes of operation:
• The Duet can work with your Desktop / Laptop computer and be your VOIP
speakerphone
• The Duet can work with your telephone / cellular phone / PDA - connected
through your telephone’s headset jack, and become your external high quality
speakerphone.
• The Duet can work with BOTH your computer and your telephone enabling threeway conferencing
• You can cascade several Duets to achieve larger room coverage. Please refer to
the relevant chapter in this manual for detailed instruction.
Other connectivity features
:
• By default, the Duet utilizes its internal microphone and loudspeaker providing
high quality, hand-free / headset free communication.
• The Duet has a 3.5mm stereo jack for external loudspeakers / headphones.
Connecting your speakers to the Duet will automatically disable the internal
loudspeaker.
• The Duet has a 2.5mm headset jack so you can use your standard telephone
headset and conduct a private conversation. Connecting the headset to the Duet
will automatically disable both the Duet’s internal microphone and internal
loudspeaker.
• The Duet has a 2-slides 4-position switch that determines the sensitivity of the
Duet’s output going into your telephone. This switch will have no effect on the
signal level going into your PC (available in V1 and newer).
• The Duet is powered through the USB port. In cases where a USB connection is
not available, an AC/DC converter is provided (plugs into the Duet through its
USB jack)
Operation features:
The Duet has Volume Up / Volume Down buttons, and a Mute button.
