Instruction manual
Important safety precautions and symbol explanation
1. Read this instruction manual carefully.
2. Keep this instruction manual safe.
3. Observe all warnings.
4. Observe all instructions.
5. CAUTION: To avoid fires and electric shocks, this system may not be exposed to rain and humidity. Do not use this
device near waters.
6. Clean only with a dry cloth.
7. Do not cover any air vents.
8. Do not place this device close to heat sources like radiators, hot air dampers, ovens or other units (including amplifiers) which release heat.
9. Do not invalidate the safety function of the inverse-polarity protection plug or the safety plug. A plug with inverse-polarity
protection has two pins, from which one is wider than the other (only for USA/Canada). A safety plug has two pins and
one ground pole (only for USA/Canada). The wide pin resp. the third pole are intended for your safety. If the included
plug does not fit in your socket, the socket is obsolete and has to be replaced by an electrician.
10. Pass the power cable in a way that nobody can step onto it or that it can be jammed. This is to apply especially for
plugs, sockets and the place where the cable comes out of the device.
11. Only use equipment and products specified by Phoenix Professional Audio GmbH.
12. Maintenance operations should only be done by qualified maintenance staff. The device has always to be maintained
if it has been damaged in any way, such as power cable or power plug is damaged, liquids have been spilt on the device
or objects have fallen into the device, if the device has been exposed to rain or humidity, if it does not operate as usual
or if it fell down.
EXPLANATION OF THE GRAPHIC SYMBOLS
The exclamation mark in a triangle shall advise the user of the existence of important
operation- and maintenance instructions in this manual.
The symbol consisting of a flash with an arrowhead shall advise the user of the
existence of non-insulated, dangerous voltages within the housing, which can be
strong enough to get an electric shock.
CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT REMOVE THE
COVER. ONLY USE QUALIFIED STAFF FOR ALL MAINTENANCE WORKS.

GENERAL INORMATION and SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The newly developed professional active DSP LINE ARRAYS , serie: Digivoice -110.8 DSP2 (8-channels DSP) and serie:
Digivoice-220.16 DSP2 (16-channels DSP), have been developed especially for sound transmission in acoustic difficult
areas with long reverberation times like such as churches, conference rooms, museums, cathedrals, conference centers
and halls, but also as the perfect „sound producer“ for multimedia applications.
The active DigiVoice audio systemes consist of software-controlled speakers, each of the 8 resp.16 DSP channels has
an own Class-D final stage which are regulated with different acoustic characteristics to fulfil the acoustic requirements
of the particular location.
The DSP supported speaker systems allow a precise directive sound and high-precision directivity by a high-quality
mathematical calculation of the optimal parameters by the DSP (audio signal processor).
Steady volume in the ranges @ 95 dB „NEAR FIELD“ and „WIDE FIELD“ and an excellent speech intelligibility in the
complete sound range are only some advantages of the DigiVoice serie.
Most important features are the continuous electronical controllability of sound outlet angle and inclination angle
in vertical direction in real time, without mechanical direction of the speaker systems (incline).
The Digivoice systems provide specific incline adjustment + / -45 degrees) and the vertical sound angle (6 degrees
to 14 degrees), parameterization is done by the system automatically by the digital DSP control.
Beyond that the integrated DSP audio system offers a whole lot of audio processing functions:
MAIN CONTROL (basic settings)
- Volume control / volume control (-20 dB to +6 dB)
- Delay adjustment (0 to 500 ms)
- Signal limiter with threshold (-40 dB to +6 dB) with mode: SLOW/NORMAL/FAST, adjustment
- Noise gate with LEVEL/ATTACK/RELEASE, adjustment and BYPASS.
DEVICE SETTINGS
- Automatic „SCANNING“ of the IP addresses of all networked DigiVoice speakers.
- Besides that automatic allocation of the COM PORTs with port time out and COM-port display.
BEAM CONTROL (User settings)
- Column elevation / mounting height: (distance of the floor area) with setting parameters 1.5 m to 3 m height.
- Focus distance / beam range: (directivity length while maintaining the sound pressure) according to model up to 25 meters.
- Focus elevation / beam height: height setting for the acoustic lense in the area of 0.5 to 3 meters.
- Opening angle: width setting for the acoustic lense in the aera of 6 to 14 degrees.
PEQ (parametrical equalizer)
- Selection of up to 10 PEQ elements.
- Frequency selection of 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
- Range of effects Q-factor of 0.05 to 3 OCT.
- Setting of amplification or deadening of the selected frequency of -20 dB to +12 dB.

A graphic presentation of the modified DSP configuration is integrated in the software under Operating Characteristic
and Beam Drawing.

GENERAL INORMATION and SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The DigiVoice system has a transformer-balanced „100V IN“ (+50dB) interface input for direct signal infeed from the
speaker network, two RJ-45 jacks (INPUT-LINK) for easy network and configuration of multiple DigiVoice systems (CAT-5
line) and a mains input terminal 230VAC.
Important:
In every place where no network lines (CAT-5) for the network of the DigiVoice systems may be passed, the
DigiVoice DSP-line arrays can be connected directly to old, existing 100V lines to the internal 100V-Audio-IN input.
After programming and measurement of the system via PC, the network lines and the programming interface
may again be removed.
The speakers are mounted flat at the wall. By the included software the acoustic characteristics are adapted to the local
conditions.
All active Digivoice Line Array systems have a modern switching power supply and fully digital 8 resp. 16 channel CLASS-D
power amplifier with DSP.
The Digivoice-110.8 DSP2 and Digivoice-220.16 DSP2 are controlled by the supplied system software ACML-CONTROL
1.5. The friendly designed user interface allow an easy and intuitive control operation in the range Audio-DSP and sound
directivity.
Only four main parameters are entered into the software ACML-CONTROLL 1.5 by the user:
1.-Mounting height
2.-Beam range
3.-Beam height
4.-Opening angle
The parameterization is done by the system via digital DSP control automatically.
5- Equalization with PEQ
To use the DigiVoice system correct and to apply all technical possibilities, you have to make a room adjustment control
resp. room equalization after the installation.
The DigiVoice systems are assembled with magnetostat sound converters and special positioned broadband chassis.
The frequency-independent directing sound is only limited to the audience area and supplies highest acoustic and
natural speech reproduction. In this way the sound reflections of the room is reduced to a minimum and the syllable
comprehensibility (STIPA values) improved enormous.
For the range and assembly of the particular line sound emitters please see the specifications.
These active DSP supported Line Array systems with their expanded frequency range in the tweeter range (magnetostat
sound converter) are excellent suitable for speech- and music transmission, and in connection with a SUB WOOFER to
consider as „FULL RANGE“ system.
